It's been a long, cold, lonely winter, but the sun has returned. Time to celebrate with some tunes!

Is this what happened to their legacy? Dismissed as a "great summertime artist"? Totally failing all lists about the best albums, songs, artists, while actually being the cream of the crop? Disappointing.

No one beats the Beach Boys when it comes to summer music. Walking down the boardwalk on a hot summers day Jammin the Beach boys. Nothing much as enjoyable.

The only band that makes summer last all year!

There is no better feeling than cruising downtown on a hot summer night with the windows down and "Just What I Needed" on the stereo.

I like the name.

3 Creedence Clearwater Revival Creedence Clearwater Revival, often shortened to Creedence and abbreviated as CCR, was an American rock band active in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

"Down on the corner, out on the street, Willy and the Poor Boys are playing, bring a nickel, stamp your feet! "

You can practically feel the sweat dripping down your back on a hot Southern night.

For sure, songs like 'Looking Out My Back Door', Down On The Corner, Bad Moon Rising, and Proud Mary are all summer classics, and great ones at that.

4 The Eagles The Eagles are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1971 by Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Bernie Leadon, and Randy Meisner.

I have vivid memories of hearing their greatest hits album for the first time while driving to out of town baseball games.

My favorite two bands, the Eagles and the Beach Boys are on #1 and #2!

7 The Lovin' Spoonful The Lovin' Spoonful is a U.S. rock band, inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000 and well known for a number of hit songs in the 1960s including "Summer in the City", "Do You Believe In Magic", "Did You Ever Have to Make Up Your Mind?", and "Daydream".

If only for the song "Summer in the City"--maybe the best summer tune ever.

8 Bob Marley Robert Nesta "Bob" Marley was a Jamaican reggae singer, songwriter, musician, and guitarist who achieved international fame and acclaim.

Reggae is great Summertime music! Go to a Southern California beach during the Summer, Reggae is playing everywhere.

9 Jimmy Buffett
