Top 10 Super Bowls Everyone Hated

The Super Bowl is the most watched event on live television, it is watched by over a million people. However, THESE Super Bowls let those millions of people down.

The Top Ten

1 Super Bowl XLVIII: Denver Broncos vs. Seattle Seahawks

Gag, this was so perfectly set up, the Broncos offense broke so many records that year, they were so high powered. Then came the super bowl, against the Seahawks, their biggest defensive foe yet, and they absolutely flopped, from the first snap to the last snap, Denver played like little ninnies. What a let down of a game. - Random_Guy1

Was expected to be a great back and forth game, the NFL's best offense (Broncos) vs the Best Defense (Seahawks). Well, this game showed that DEFENSE wins championships, it was a blowout. The Seahawks won 43-8. - RPD6478

Besides Vikings playoff losses, I have never been more mad than I was for SB 48, was supposed to be one of the best Super Bowl's ever, instead it was one of the worst, it was so boring I fell asleep during the fourth quarter. - Apples23

Complete blowout

2 Super Bowl XLIX: New England Patriots vs. Seattle Seahawks

This game could have been one of the best Super Bowls ever, and it had the most epic finish ever. Tom Brady's magical 4th quarter comeback against the Seahawks was amazing. And Malcolm Butler's interception on the goal line against Russell Wilson sealed the game. The game was back and forth for the whole time. However, rumors came out that Tom Brady deflated the footballs to win the AFC Championship game. So lots of people think that the Pats shouldn't even have made the Super Bowl. The Patriots won 28-24. - RPD6478

Well I am a pats fan and I was crying that the pats were losing and people made fun of me that I was a deflation fan but they reveres that

I've never cussed someone out more than I cussed out Pete Carroll after this - ryanrimmel

3 Super Bowl 50: Denver Broncos vs. Carolina Panthers

This Super Bowl was insanely over hyped. Everybody was talking about how Cam Newton and the Panthers were going to smack down the Broncos, but that wasn't even CLOSE to what happened. The Broncos defense terrorized Cam Newton. It was a simply boring defensive game, and the Broncos won 24-10 in Peyton Manning's last game. What a way to retire. - RPD6478

Just wasn't fun to watch. At least in some of the most hated games the COMMERCIALS were good. 1/4 of the commercials were CBS. The game itself was a boring turf war. In the blowouts like Broncos 49'ers & Broncos Seahawks it was kind of funny. Crappy game

Very similar in nature to Super Bowl 40. All the hype was around if a star would walk out a winner, both were basically one defense dominating the other, and were both poorly officiated. - Apples23

As a Panther fan this was a big disappointment... - Jonerman

4 Super Bowl XXIV: Denver Broncos vs. San Francisco 49ers

Everybody was tired of the 49ers dynasty. So many people were hoping that John Elway and the Broncos could defeat the seemingly unstoppable 49ers. Nope, the 49ers won the big game yet again 55-10. - RPD6478

As bad as SB 48 was, this was a total beatdown. I was six when this happened and the first year I started watching football, and my parents were extremely mad, and to top it all off my family hates the 9ers because of this Super Bowl. - Apples23

5 Super Bowl XXXVII: Oakland Raiders vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Like SB 48, top defense against top offense, but the defense ultimately wins. Game was basically over from the start because Gruden knew everything that was against him because he coached the Raiders the year before, all that led to a recipe for a blowout. To make matters worse, the Raiders have yet to recover from Super Bowl 37. - Apples23

What an epic story line. Buccaneers coach John Gruden faces off the team he coached just a year before. Oakland was favored by 4 points. But Gruden beat his old team with ease 48-21. For the hype that this game got, this was kind of disappointing. Nobody likes a blow out in the Super Bowl, especially if it has a cool story behind it. - RPD6478

6 Super Bowl LIII: Los Angeles Rams vs. New England Patriots

If there's one thing I hated most about this Super Bowl, it was the halftime show. Not just because Maroon 5 and Travis Scott had mediocre song performances, but because they disgraced a dead man. NFL, you hype up an iconic song from an iconic episode of an iconic animated series that we all know as Sweet Victory from the episode Band Geeks of the animated series SpongeBob SquarePants, and all you could do was play the full song in an EMPTY stadium with no one around and then have the actual game ditch a Sweet Victory performance in favor of an otherwise forgettable rap song known as Sicko Mode that will now be remembered as a hated song loathed by animation fans everywhere? NFL, here are three words: YOU. DISGUST. ME. - ModernSpongeBobSucks

What really ticked off people is not that they didn't play Sweet Victory, but how they maliciously teased us with 5 seconds of Band Geeks and instantly cut to Sicko Mode.

Also Sicko Mode was an okay song. - Not_A_Weeaboo

Most Boring Super Bowl ever. I yawn just thinking about it.

This game was so boring. And what could top a wonderful game with a bad halftime show. Millions of fans are disappointed nfl, smh.

3-3 until 4th quarter. Watching paint dry would be more fun. - Not_A_Weeaboo

7 Super Bowl VI: Dallas Cowboys vs. Miami Dolphins
8 Super Bowl XXII: Washington Redskins vs. Denver Broncos
9 Super Bowl XXIX: San Diego Chargers vs. San Francisco 49ers

Like I said at #3, people were sick and tired of the 49ers winning all the time. So the majority of America wanted the Chargers to win. But if the Chargers won, this Super Bowl wouldn't be on the list. Yep, the 49ers won AGAIN. And it wasn't even a close game, the 49ers won 49-26. - RPD6478

10 Super Bowl XXVII: Buffalo Bills vs. Dallas Cowboys

Lets be real, everybody hates the Dallas Cowboys and their filthy rich owner Jerry Jones, so it was hard to watch the Cowboys win this one. What was supposed to be a really good game, turned into a blow out. The Cowboys defense completely shut down the Buffalo offense. The game was NEVER close, the Cowboys won 52-17. (Fun fact, the Buffalo Bills went to 4 straight Super Bowls including this one and lost all 4, 2 to the Dallas Cowboys, 1 to the New York Giants, 1 to the Washington Redskins) - RPD6478

The Contenders

11 Super Bowl XL: Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Seattle Seahawks

It was a boring defensive affair, extremely over hyped. Lots of awful officiating mistakes, the ref literally admitted he made mistakes that game. The Steelers won 21-10. - RPD6478

12 Super Bowl XVIII: Oakland Raiders vs. Washington Redskins
13 Super Bowl VI: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Minnesota Vikings

The cheifs won

Who Won?

14 Super Bowl LI: New England Patriots vs. Atlanta Falcons
15 Super Bowl VIII: Minnesota Vikings vs. Miami Dolphins
16 Super Bowl XXXVI: New England Patriots vs. St. Louis Rams

At the time this was considered the best Super Bowl ever, everybody was happy to see Tom Brady, a young 6th round pick, help his New England Patriots defeat the heavily favored St. Louis Rams. The game for the most part was very exciting, and came down to a last second field goal by Adam Vinatieri of the Patriots. But shortly after the game, allegations came out the Patriots taped the Rams practice before the Super Bowl. The Patriots won 20-17, but I'm sure somewhere there is a little asterisk (*) next to this Super Bowl win. - RPD6478

Birth of an Evil Empire. - Interrogator

17 Super Bowl XLVII: Baltimore Ravens vs. San Francisco 49ers

This game had a lot of build up, known as "The Brother Bowl" because the Ravens coach John Harbaugh was facing his brother Jim Harbaugh (Then the coach of the 49ers). This game was for the most part entertaining, however the power went out in the stadium, delaying the game for 34 minutes. Baltimore won a thriller 34-31, but it wasn't without a controversial call in the final minutes. It also was epic because you could see Ray Lewis retire with a Super Bowl win. Him, Terrell Suggs, and Ray Rice were also a part of that winning squad. AKA 3 of the most despised NFL players ever. - RPD6478

18 Super Bowl V: Baltimore Colts vs. Dallas Cowboys

This was just flat out hilarious. - RalphBob
