Top Ten Purest Characters in the Super Mario Series

This is a list of the characters who are the most pure, have good intentions, and display a healthy range of emotion. The characters' prominence and influence on the series will affect their placement. Only the character in their default version is accepted; alternate forms of characters will not be considered.
The Top Ten
1 Luigi Luigi, originally a palette swap of Mario named Green Mario, is a major character featured in video games and related media released by Nintendo. Created by prominent game designer Shigeru Miyamoto, Luigi is portrayed as the slightly younger, taller fraternal twin brother of Nintendo's unofficial mascot Mario, and appears in many games throughout the Super Mario franchise, often as a sidekick to his brother.

Out of every single character in the entire series, Luigi displays the widest range of emotions and the most selfless behaviors. He's so kindhearted, he's always helping others, even occasionally his enemies! He's always quick to recover from abuse and he's always showing compassion and love towards his friends and family. He respects others' boundaries and always strives to do the right thing. I don't think Nintendo, or any company could ever make a character that deserves to be loved for their personality more than Luigi.

Luigi may not be fearless or confident like his brother Mario, but his emotional growth shows his purity and desire to improve his weaknesses. Coupled with his strengths and his love for all others, Luigi may very well be the purest character the series has ever seen.

2 Yoshi Yoshi, once romanized as Yossy, is a fictional anthropomorphic dinosaur who appears in video games published by Nintendo. Often appearing as a sidekick and helper to Marion, Yoshi is most known for his appearances in the Yoshi's Island and the Super Mario franchises.

No matter how many times Mario has abused Yoshi in some way, Yoshi still helps him with his adventures. Yoshi has done nothing wrong! In fact, if not for Yoshi, Bowser would have destroyed both the Mario Bros. and their entire world. Yoshi is always positive and cares for Mario and Luigi.

3 Toadette Toadette is a character in the Mario series. She is a female Toad who first appeared in the Nintendo GameCube video game Mario Kart: Double Dash.

Toadette has been a valuable asset to Mario and Luigi on their many adventures, always thinking of new ways to help them achieve their goals.

4 Rosalina Rosalina, known as Rosetta in Japan, is a major character in the Mario Franchise created by Nintendo. She first appeared in the 2007 Mario Game, Super Mario Galaxy for the Nintendo Wii and later returned for the game's sequel in 2010. Since then, she has been featured in many main-series Mario Games and many spinoffs. She has appeared as a playable character in Super Mario 3D World for the Nintendo Wii U in 2013 and is a playable character in the Mario Kart series and Mario Party series. She also has come into Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS as a part of the large character roster.

Rosalina acts as a mother figure to the Lumas. She's a very kind and caring woman. She takes it upon herself to oversee the safety of the galaxy.

5 Luma

Lumas guide Mario through the cosmos and help him get where he needs to go. The little star children are so friendly to Mario and Luigi.

6 Tippi

She was the only person in the entire world who believed Count Bleck could still have good, even when Bleck himself denied he could. Her mission to save Bleck from the Dark Prognosticus was out of pure love and hope. Thanks to her and Mario's party, Bleck was able to redeem himself, and they sacrificed themselves to destroy the Chaos Heart, saving the world from destruction.

7 Geno

Geno takes it upon himself to repair the Star Road after Smithy and Exor shatter it when invading the Mushroom Kingdom. Since the Star Road is responsible for granting people's wishes, Geno has tasked himself with an incredible burden. Not to mention, he's never done wrong and always manages to keep a level head.

8 Mallow

A young puff who adventures with Mario to help destroy Smithy and find his place in the world. His desire to do the right thing while also learning several moral lessons and confiding in his allies while still being so young earns him his placement on this list.

9 Toadsworth

Toadsworth may not be Peach's most competent subject, but he does show concern for Princess Peach, and is willing to trust Mario. He does more to defend the safety of the princess than every other Toad in the Mushroom Kingdom.

10 Pauline Pauline, also known as Daniella Verducci, is the original damsel-in-distress whom Mario must rescue from the eponymous ape in the original Donkey Kong.

She's a competent and caring mayor. Enough said.
