Most Surprising NFL Teams of 2017 After Week 6
Teams that shocked us the most good or bad as of Week 6 of the 2017-18 seasonThe Saints suddenly exploded on offense against a solid Detroit team putting up 52 total points and winning by 14 points. What makes them so surprising is that they came out of nowhere. And this was after trading AP! The Saints are 3-2 and only a half game behind Carolina.
Pittsburgh once again beat Kansas City. Slaying the last undefeated team Ben Brown and Bell look back in Business and the defense was able to contain a red hot Chiefs offense.
This team is inconsistent. They beat KC but lose to Chicago and Jacksonville. I'm not buying this team yet
Chicago got a win over a decent Ravens squad and Trubisky got his first OT win. He might be a better rookie starter than people give him credit for. I'm willing to give Chicago a chance. With Rodgers down anything is possible in the NFC North now.
They crushed their biggest rival Green Bay both literally and Mentally. They won 23-10 and injured Aaron Rodgers who may potentially be out the rest of the season and this is a Packers team already dealing with a bunch of injuries as is. The Vikings showed that they might dethrone their big brother Green Bay again and win the division. But even if they don't they made the division race way more interesting now by opening the doors for Detroit or heck even Chicago
They were down against Atlanta 17-0 only to rally and win 20-17 with a very mediocre offense. Especially with Cutler at QB. I figured they were more surprising than Atlanta blowing yet another large lead at halftime.
They defeated the Raiders on the last play of the game. What shocks me though is the fact they were 0-4 and have now picked up 2 straight wins.
What happened to Kansas City? Their red hot offense was completely shut down by a Steelers defense that was struggling. Kansas City should have been able to get revenge on the team they lost to in the playoffs last year but no. On top of that they were playing at Arowhead which is a tough environment for road teams.
The Raiders have dropped 4 consecutive games. This team has some serious work to do. They play KC on Thursday night and really can't afford to lose. They are already 2-4 and in last in the AFC West after losing to the Chargers. Oakland needs to turn the ship around
The Giants finally got a W this year. (It's about time) and it was against the Denver Broncos in the mile high city. McAdoo not calling plays might have been the reason but hey The Giants were able to score some points by running the by running the ball against the Broncos who have arguably the best defense in the league especially against the running game. Speaking of defense the Giants defense looked solid and was able to hold the Broncos almost lifeless on offense.
After an Embarrassing loss last week to Philadelphia the Cards rebounded against a Tampa Bay team that was also looking to rebound from a missed opportunity for an upset over New England. They might still have a little bit of life left after all. Maybe? Maybe Not?
As a Packers fan myself I was obviously surprised at how quickly the season could take a turn for the worst. With Aaron Rodgers down for potentially the rest of the season the Packers are in deep trouble considering they are already banged up on both offense and defense. Aaron Rodgers injury could very well be the dagger in their playoff hopes. To be fair Hundley got thrown in the game unexpectedly so I will give him a chance
Not surprised.
Oh hey another blown lead!
