Top Ten Teams of the 2020-21 NBA SeasonThe NBA Season is here already. Almost every team has a shot at the Playoffs. With the season approaching, we have to take a look at the best teams. This list will be based on this coming season alone. Not last year and not the future seasons. Feel free to add anyone you would like.
The Lakers will come into this year as the favorites. They just came off a ring and they actually got better. They added Dennis Schroeder, Montrezl Harrell, and Marc Gasol. Most of their players got better and they will be a really hard team to stop. I think Anthony Davis will be an MVP candidate. The only limitation is LeBron taking a break for the beginning of the season which could dock their record. Otherwise expect a repeat.
I am so scared of the Nets. They look amazing. KD is a potential MVP candidate and Kyrie looked great as well in the Preseason. They of course have Jarrett Allen and DeAndre Jordan at the center spots and you still have Spencer Dinwiddie to run the bench. Caris Levert on top of all of that. This team also has shooter like Joe Harris. They maybe need to get more at the deadline though. Point being, this team is stacked.
I really like the moves the Bucks made. They got Jrue Holiday who I think could really benefit playing next to Giannis. They just extended Giannis and grabbed a few more pieces. They will be good once again, but I think they need more shooters and one more playmaker on the bench. The Trade Deadline will be important for them.
The Mavs are gonna take another big step this year. Luka is my pick for MVP and they also got him some help Josh Richardson. I think losing Seth Curry really hurts though, but still I think they will be really good. Hopefully the Josh Green pick will help replace what Curry gave.
I expect Jamal Murray to take a huge step this year. Maybe even MIP level. They also have another MIP potential player, Michael Porter Jr. This team has a chance to really improve even further. It is just the question of can they tap into that potential.
The Heat are coming off a ridiculous Finals run, but, I gotta say, how much of that was some select players getting hot at the right time. We will see. This team is definitely still a contender and they will be great again. I just don't know, they didn't seem to make a lot of improvements.
Jayson Tatum is superstar level. I think we could see MVP level production as Kemba is projected to miss the beginning of the season and Gordon Hayward is gone. It is just a question of are they good enough to hang with the top teams?
The Clippers really got hurt this off season. They lost Trez and they fired one of the best coaches in the league. Now they have Tyronn Lue who definitely good, but is he as good as Doc? This Clippers team has to turn it on quick and get things together. I wouldn't be surprised if Kawhi leaves if this year doesn't end in a Finals appearance.
So people like dissing the Sixers. I think they would have beat the Celtics last year if Ben Simmons played. Obviously he got injured, but still. They got Doc Rivers which is a massive improvement. They got a lot of good shooters like Danny Green and Seth Curry. They got off Al Horford's stupid contract and replaced him with Dwight Howard. I think this year will be a big improvement for them.
I really like this Suns team and I think people are sleeping on them. Devin Booker is poised to continue his ascension into a top five scorer in the league. Chris Paul brings a lot of veteran presence to this team and I think that makes a big impact. They got Jae Crowder and Mikal Bridges as 3 and D guys. On top of all of this, they have dominant big man DeAndre Ayton. This team is legit.
Woah, let's not get too crazy here, there are better teams in the eastern conference, but maybe they can get the 8. seed, only to get destroyed by the Bucks.
