Top Ten Most Terrifying Stalking Incidents in the K-Pop Industry

K-pop is a music genre that originated from Korea. It has recently surged in mainstream popularity and continues to grow today. Fans of K-pop are often referred to as "stans".

However, some fans take their obsession to the next level. They attempt to stalk their favorite idols, dedicating their lives to gathering private personal information in an effort to catch the idol's attention both online and in real life. This can put extreme pressure on the idols. These types of fans are called "Sasaengs".

1 Taecyeon (Blood Letter)

Probably the most creepiest out of all stalking incidents. Taecyeon from 2PM received a fan letter containing blood, saying "I dedicate to Taecyeon my period blood letter, you can't live without me." What's worse, traces of pubic hair were sprinkled around the letter. The other fans didn't believe it. The sasaeng then posted proof of another photo and admitted that she wrote this from her pad, leaving other fans revolted. The sasaeng quickly apologized, but fans continued to lash at her from her actions.

2 EXO (Kidnapping)

EXO had a lengthy history of being stalked by sasaengs, but this incident is no exception. Several years ago, sasaengs had rented a van that's almost exactly similar to EXO's and parked it to the usual location where they would be usually waiting. The band fell for this but fortunately, the manager saw what looks out of the ordinary before the fans were able to succeed their tactic.

3 BTS (Grabbed)

When BTS arrived at Indonesia, a squad of sasaengs noticed the band, rushed at them and invaded their personal space, to the point that some will attempt to grab their belongings. Primarily during this incident, Jungkook was especially targeted by the sasaengs.

4 EXO (Secret Recordings)

During an overseas trip, EXO stayed at a hotel which eventually, sasaengs broke into their hotel room and placed secret cameras that recorded a part of their private lives. Fortunately as soon as after, one of them managed to spot the cameras and quickly called out the manager.

5 Yunho (Poisoned)

Back in 2006, Yunho who was part of the TVXQ band, was given an orange juice mixed with glue, causing him to vomit up blood. Apparently, this orange juice was given not by a sasaeng, but an anti-fan against the TVXQ band. This caused him to develop a trauma over orange juice afterwards

6 G-Dragon (Camped)

Sasaengs managed to find the location of G-Dragon's house, and a plethora of them camped outside their property to the point that they didn't want to leave the house. G-Dragon then posted a tweet telling them to stop. This wasn't the best day for G-Dragon and his family.

7 BTS (Chased)

When the BTS band was in Sweden, they took a quick stop at a cafe to chill and eat for a little when sasaeng fans slowly accumulated over the place and watched the boys outside, creeping out the band. The camera took action of this and commanded them to move. However when the band finally walks outside, sasaengs rabidly chased after them. They sure were not satisfied by this incident.

8 Kim Heechul (Car Accident)

One day when Kim Heechul was driving, he was met by a group of sasaeng fans driving along with him. Kim Heechul attempted to stray off the fans taking route by route, but that ended him in a car accident that broke his leg.

9 Choi Siwon (Hacked)

Back in 2012, fans managed to break and gain control onto his twitter account. Siwon took action and told the fan not to do it again once he regained access to his account, but then he was hacked again. Fans even knew that his twitter was hacked and constantly pleaded the sasaeng not to invade his privacy.

10 Wanna One (Trespassing)

When Wanna One was filming a Weekly Idol episode, a flood of sasaengs barged and crowded the building. The number of the crowds quickly accumulated to the point that the lobby and even the sidewalks. Some fans also stayed at the cafes but didn't order anything.
