Top 10 Best Theatrical Live Action Movies

The Top Ten
1 Gordy
2 Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back

Honestly, this originally was my least favorite of the trilogy, but after I rewatched it, I realized it's the best, I love this movie. It has dark and shocking scenes such as the "I am your father" scene which left everyone person who saw the movie completely shocked. And Darth Vader is best movie villain ever, and you got to see Palpatine for the first time, a powerful Sith Lord. And Luke Skywalker is an amazing protagonist, Han Solo is really memorable as well, along with all the other characters.

3 Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey
4 Beauty and the Beast (2017)
5 Babe
6 Mary Poppins
7 Maleficent
8 The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

The best fantasy movie ever, the first one in the trilogy was boring but it redeemed itself, the second one was even better than the first one and then the third one came in and completely blew both away! This is the best third installment in a movie series, my only problem with this trilogy is the main villain, Sauron, it is such a boring and bland character, I don't even consider Sauron to be a character even though he is very evil and powerful.

9 Forrest Gump

Forrest Gump, this movie may not be for everyone but I still love it. This is a very inspiring movie with a very famous character, Forrest Gump! This movie is supposed to be a happy movie but it makes you cry!

10 Charlotte's Web
The Contenders
11 War for the Planet of the Apes

I know it came out very recently but I don't care, I'm still adding it to the list! Just like The Lord of the Rings trilogy, the trilogy got better as it went on. Rise was awesome, Dawn was incredible and War was fantastic! I had a great time watching this in theaters. And the ending made me cry!

12 Angels in the Outfield
13 The Shawshank Redemption

Can we all just agree that 1994 was the best year for movies? This was one of the movies that made 1994 a fantastic year for film. The Shawshank Redemption brings Stephen King's novel to the big screen as a film, and it got no oscar? How?

14 Terminator 2: Judgment Day

Best action movie ever! Sorry Die Hard fans, this movie completely blows Die Hard away! (I still like Die Hard though)! Just like The Empire Strikes Back and The Dark Knight, this movie completely blew away the original movie which is rare! Terminator/T-800 is way more memorable in this movie than he was in The Terminator (1984, still a very good film).

I love this & Die Hard equally.

15 The Dark Knight

This is the best superhero movie of all time. Heath Ledger did a brilliant job as The Joker, he didn't act the Joker, he WAS the Joker. I also think Christian Bale did a good job as Batman. Batman Begins was awesome but this was even better! And it's rare for sequels to be better than the original movie but this movie pulled that off perfectly!

A Timeless Masterpiece

16 Saving Mr. Banks
17 Back to the Future

Second best film from the 1980s. I've actually never heard anyone say that they hate this film because it's impossible to hate! It has a creative plot and another awesome set of characters, the sequels were good but they are trash compared to this!

18 Freddy Got Fingered
19 Cinderella (2015)
20 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2

This is definitely the best of the Harry Potter series, the other Harry Potter movies were really good but not top ten worthy in my opinion, but this one is, it gets really awesome, and 2011 is still rated one of the worst years for movies (I think) but this movie stood out in that year, it was a huge box office hit. And the Battle of Hogwarts, in my opinion, is one of the best battles in movie history. Great fantasy movie.

21 Reservoir Dogs
22 Star Wars: The Force Awakens
23 The Avengers
24 Raiders of the Lost Ark

Best Indiana Jones movie in my opinion, also the 3rd best movie of the 1980s. Indiana Jones is such a memorable and iconic character and this film was incredible. Back then, no one probably knew who Indiana Jones was, but when they saw that badass opening scene, they knew they were in for something good.

25 The Godfather

I have never seen it, but I added because it is number one on the best movie list
