Top 10 Things that Certain Media Works Have Been Hugely Praised for that Weren't Actually Very Big Accomplishments

The Top Ten
1 Generation One Transformers being slightly better-written and less pretentious than the Michael Bay Transformers film series

Yeah that does not sound hard. Its funny remembering that I liked the Bay version at the time but looking back just thinking oh yeah that was actually pretty bad.

2 Super Metroid rendering the first two Metroid games entirely obsolete by comparison to it
3 Final Fantasy VI having the overall best-written main villain to ever appear in a Super Nintendo game, except that he (Kefka) is still extremely one-dimensional and a blatant carbon copy of the Joker from the Batman franchise
4 Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame being actually decent sequels to Avengers 2012 where Age Of Ultron failed

(Thanos memes, overdone CGI, pretentious storylines, cringe-inducing Fortnite product placement, overshot lengths, painfully unfunny jokes, completely shameless fan-service, ludicrously overhyped anti-twist endings and blatant Captain Marvel shoehorning that was more-than-likely purely for the sake of agenda-pushing and standalone-movie-advertising aside)

I thought these movies were marvelous.

5 Futurama being a funnier and more interesting show overall than what The Simpsons turned into during its home decade (the 2000s)
6 Rocko's Modern Life being the best installment of the 1990s Nicktoons franchise, as well as probably the least ridiculously overrated show between it, Spongebob Squarepants and The Ren & Stimpy Show

Also the reason why Spongebob exists

7 The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild actually having reasonably enjoyable and non-completely-broken gameplay where The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim didn't

I disagree. I love Elder Scrolls, and the bugs make it more fun sometimes.

8 OK Computer being far and away the best Radiohead album
9 Undertale's Pacifist run having a better-written and better-told storyline than about 95% of other video games as a whole

Geez you seem to like Undertale but some of your lists make me think otherwise

10 Black Panther 2018 being almost exactly the same as every other generic mass-produced superhero film, except with a black male lead instead of a white male lead
The Contenders
11 Batman: The Animated Series basically just being an extended version of the Burton/Schumacher Batman films but with all of the things that they did wrong being done right

Amazing show!

12 The Loud House being better than about 95% of what Nickelodeon turned into after Spongebob Squarepants' golden years (Seasons 1-4) ended
13 Another Metroid 2 Remake being colossally better than anything that Nintendo had officially put out for the Metroid franchise between its release and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption's

(cough, the Z-Factor and Ancient Chozo hacks for Super Metroid were SO much better, cough)

14 Super Mario Galaxy having a "space gravity" mechanic and a few incredibly epic orchestrated songs in its soundtrack

Sonic Adventure 2 had the Rouge Ark level with the moons. And that was before Super Mario Galaxy. I don't know about the orchestra however.

15 Star Trek being slightly less overrated than Star Wars

Slightly less overrated? Compared to Star Wars, Star Trek is rated properly. Many fans of Star Wars give the series so much credit for doing things that Star Trek did a decade before that film's release.

16 Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's having the most feels out of all the entries of the Lyrical Nanoha franchise

I love A's and all but I honestly prefer StrikerS over it. Fight me.

17 The first Michael Bay Transformers film almost looking like a legitimate masterpiece when compared to the rest of its saga
18 The Tim Burton Batman films being several leagues better than the Joel Schumacher ones
19 The Fistful Of Dollars trilogy essentially just being like any other Western prior to the releases of its films, but with the tropes and cliches being less irritatingly obvious
20 Yoshi's Island graphically looking better than its original Super Mario World predecessor

Technically shouldn't be a sequel. My guess is that they thought a Yoshi game wouldn't sell so they put Mario in the title. And Yoshi's Island sucks.

21 The Matrix being more or less an average action film except edgier, flashier and more pseudo-intellectual
22 Old Spongebob being better than New Spongebob
23 The Last Of Us having a better storyline than most other video games of its nature

Most video games of that nature or any other nature don't have much of a storyline anyway.

24 God Of War 2018 being basically just a well-written version of the old God Of War games, with the Last Of Us storyline formula being very thickly applied
25 Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse being essentially your typical Social Justice Warrior superhero flick except done right
