Top Ten Things That Spring to Mind Whenever Anyone Mentions America

This list is in no way intended to offend. It's merely a list of things to do with America.
The Top Ten
1 Jackie Evancho singing the National Anthem

At 16 she was asked to sing the National Anthem at Donald Trump's Inauguration. Because of the insanity of the radical left she immediately began receiving death threats, threats of boycotts, hate mail, disgusting posts on her social media and horrible posts on political websites across the world wide web. She stood up to it all and proudly sang for America. Bravest thing I've ever witnessed.

I am not an American, but Jackie's stirring rendition makes me feel proud of America. The Apollo program, and Jackie's incredible voice are two things that make me glad to have lived at this time.

Thanksgiving, superbowl? This are things that are not celebrated or seen in Europe. Who cares other than Americans about J. Evancho singing ( and I really don't care about America's national anthem ) on this events?

She has done a superb job with the anthem at several NHL and MLB games, and in particular a the Detroit Lions-Green Bay Packers NFL game on Thanksgiving Day 2013. Next up, Super Bowl 2015 or 2016.

2 The Statue of Liberty

Of course! The symbol of New York and America as a whole.

Our lady liberty!

3 New York

Hmm.. I'm American so one day I shall make a list about Great Britain

New York I've wanted to go there since I was young!

... Is to America what London is to Great Britain.

One day, I'll go to New York City.

4 Football American football is a sport played by two teams of eleven players on a rectangular field with goalposts at each end.

5 Baseball Baseball is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of nine players each who take turns batting and fielding.

It's very American indeed

6 Burgers

While the Hamburg STEAK (basically Salisbury steak without the gravy) was indeed of German origin, the HAMBURGER in a bun with the fixin's was a 19th-century American improvement.
Thus endeth the lesson.

8 The White House The White House is the official residence and workplace of the President of the United States. Located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington, D.C., the building has been the home of every U.S. President since John Adams in 1800.

You may like or dislike whoever the resident may be at any given time, but it is an enduring symbol of the office and the nation.

9 Golden Gate Bridge The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge connecting San Francisco to Marin County, California. Completed in 1937, it is an iconic symbol of San Francisco and is renowned for its Art Deco design and "International Orange" color.
10 Presidents

That's pretty big when you think of America since that's what they got

Three of those names are spelled wrong- good work.

The Contenders
11 Saving the World During WWII

A lot of countries "did more", as in got millions and millions of their people killed.

Russia lost over 20 million people, and China lost 15 million people over on the "other front"; that's not a recipe for victory, but it is a testament to their bravery and tenaciousness.

The Brits were amazingly tough, and had perhaps the most inspiring leader of the entire 20th Century [Sir Winston Churchill].

But make no mistake, Hitler and Tojo would have been victorious if the US had not come in and done what it did, certainly in part because our forces were fresher and better supplied, with a homeland that was not under siege.

The world, and Europe in particular would look very different today.

Got to admit, Britain and Russia did more in WWII than the U.S. did, so I wouldn't really say that we "Saved the day", but I would say that we did contribute greatly to the victory.

12 Broadway

This is one of the best reasons to live in New York!

13 Hollywood

Really just the idea of it. Films and T.V. are actually made in Burbank, Culver City, or on location somewhere, but the glamour still exists in everyone's imagination.

Yeah America without Hollywood... nope not possible!

14 Gateway Arch
15 Neil Armstrong Neil Alden Armstrong was an American astronaut and aeronautical engineer who was the first person to walk on the Moon. He was also a naval aviator, test pilot, and university professor.

Literally the only event of our time that will still be remembered in 10,000 years.

First human being to walk on another world.

USA beat Russia to the moon!

16 Super Bowl The Super Bowl is the championship game of the National Football League (NFL) in the United States. Held annually on the first Sunday in February, it is the culmination of the regular football season and playoffs. The event is a cultural phenomenon, attracting millions of viewers worldwide and featuring elaborate halftime shows and commercials. The team that wins the Super Bowl is awarded the Vince Lombardi Trophy, named after the legendary Green Bay Packers coach.

20 Amber Waves of Grain

It's a pretty amazing sight in some of the farm states, The midwest really is the "breadbasket to the world".

21 Arrogance

I'm from America and this is true. There's just too many people out there boasting about their "freedom" and insult other countries all willy-nilly. They fail to realize that they are NOT the best country in the world and that there are nations out there that are a lot better. And we wonder why the rest of the world hates us.

This is not fair. Everyone blames America for being arrogant, but not every sing person is. While the majority of the population may be ignorant, the open-minded people hate arrogance. Besides, there are arrogant people in every country, not just America.

We are arrogant. We are a giant population of arrogant fools. But we've survived. Alas, I don't know much do to the short time I've been in school. I'm still elementary!

Anyone who's met one (or more) probably agrees. It's a generalisation but there's usually a basis for such things.

22 Eagle Eagle is the common name for many large birds of prey of the family Accipitridae. Eagles belong to several groups of genera, some of which are closely related. Most of the 60 species of eagle are from Eurasia and Africa. Outside this area, just 14 species can be found - 2 in North America, 9 in Central and South America, and 3 in Australia. Eagles are not a natural group but denote essentially any kind of bird of prey large enough to hunt sizeable (about 50 cm long or more overall) vertebrates. Eagles are also one of America's national symbols.

How is this not mentioned?
