2 They make fun of famous people
3 They either succeed and become trendy for a while or they die off quickly
4 The image macro memes always use impact font

Ah, 2012 memes. Modern memes don't though.

5 They would trigger certain groups who are often the main subject or associated with the main subject
6 They are often horrible jokes (on death or destruction at the most extreme)

Nah, not really. They're more light-hearted content.

7 Most memes are one-sided on an issue, always favoring one side while hating the other side

Examples: men <-> women, Republican <-> Democrat, pineapple on pizza <-> no pineapple on pizza.

8 Their spread reaches multiple social media outlets on the internet in a short period of time
9 When a new famous meme shows up, another previously famous meme dies off quickly in favor of the new one
10 People who post memes are aware of cliches and memes
