Being out in really hot weather can be a risky adventure. You can risk overheating and dying. Here are some ways you can stay safe when it's extremely hot outside

1 Drink more water

That's the BEST way! Sadly long exposure to hot weather's common in theme/amusement parks as well as outdoor festivals/events & outdoor work including farming. This is a serious problem as heat stroke can kill you. Drink as much water but don't overdo it.

Simple, your body needs water to stay hydrated and regulate it's temperature. You risk overheating when you don't drink enough water

2 Apply sunscreen

Applying sunscreen protects you from sunburn. Be sure to apply them as your bottle asks

3 Take it easy

Don't overexert yourself in excessively hot weather and if possible, wait for it to be cooler before doing so or go inside and exercise there

4 Dress appropriately

Wear loose fitting, light colored clothing to help air flow through your clothing and reduce the risk of overheating and don't forget to wear a hat

5 Stay inside during the midday heat

Midday heat is normally the worst so it's best to do activities earlier or later

6 Keep track of symptoms of heat exhaustion or heatstroke

Heat exhaustion and heatstroke are very deadly and if you feel like you have any symptoms, move to a cooler place and call emergency services

7 Don't drink caffeine, soda or alcohol

They can dehydrate you and make you more prone to heat illnesses
