Christiangrant, didn't' Watchtower start that. - Rambles

I think Tech Thrash was started by many bands including Annihilator Corner etc its not clear wo started it but I think they were the ones that made the movement start to grow - christangrant

15 days ago I made this list: Most Important Early Releases of Technical and Progressive Thrash Metal.
The first bands were Watchtower (demo 1984) and Annihilator (demo 1985). Watchtower demo sounds more like prog metal (Rush) with thrash elements. Annihilator demo is real technical thrash. - Metal_Treasure

7 Metal Thrashing Mad - Anthrax

Gave thrash metal its name - christangrant

I remember a documentary saying that this song was where thrash got its name from - christangrant

Yes, I know the same - the term thrash metal came from this song.
Before that James Hetfield used to describe Metallica as power metal. He was partly correct as thrash is a mix of power/speed metal with hardcore punk. But thrash is a more suitable and correct name. - Metal_Treasure

8 Seek and Destroy - Metallica

I just needed to add a song from this album because this album started thrash popularisation (1983). I don't insist on this particular song - there are several songs that deserve to be mentioned here. - Metal_Treasure

11 Holy Wars...The Punishment Due - Megadeth

Wow, how in anyone's slightest lapse of judgement would this not be number one. The structure, tightness, and unbelievably intricate guitar work by Dave Mustaine and Marty Friedman is absolutely phenomenal. No other song one this list comes close. You guys need to listen to this song again, and pay attention! - Mike777
