Top 10 Most Underrated Television Shows

The Top Ten

1 Supernatural Supernatural This haunting series follows the thrilling yet terrifying journeys of Sam and Dean Winchester, two brothers who face an increasingly sinister landscape as they hunt monsters. After losing their mother to a supernatural force, the brothers were raised by their father as soldiers who track mysterious more.

The first five seasons were EPIC, family driven, full of drama, humor, tearjearkers, sexy characters, fantastic writing, original plot lines and amazing acting. These last two seasons are hit and miss but once you are hooked on the first five seasons you can't let go. Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki aren't just pretty faces, they have acting chops too. Try NOT to cry when Jensen tears up on camera... I DARE YOU.

Completely original and always good for throwing in a twist! The acting is spectacular, the dialogue is funny, dramatic, and amazing. The story can pull on your heart strings like nothing and I love that the main focus isn't all about a romantic relationship and more of family, friend, and supernatural issues. That and it looks like it's one of the only shows where the actors look like they have fun doing their job that I've seen

I've watched many T.V. shows and out of all of them, supernatural is the only one that has been SO captivating. Episode after episode, it has never failed to disappoint me. Also, the acting and directing- I can't even describe how great it is- Jensen, Jared, Misha and everyone in the cast are just too brilliant in portraying emotions. When Jensen cries, the world cries. I'm not exaggerating - in my eyes, Supernatural should be playing around the world, on every T.V. , every day. I wouldn't get much work done though haha...

Why is this number 1, it is overrated - 445956

3 Futurama Futurama Futurama is an American animated science fiction sitcom created by Matt Groening for the Fox Broadcasting Company.

Amazingly funny show, satirical, intelligent, and I love how the whole series is joined together and that there is a reason for pretty much everything that happens in it, which ties together later in the series - Edwahrd

One of the most brilliant show that I ever had the privilege to experience. Way better than any current sitcom without a doubt. Just 7 seasons though. This show had unlimited potential. Any naysayer can bite my shiny metal...

way more funny than the simpsons. also, mad tv isn't funny, and degrassi is just stupid. - deadgrass27

Come on it's awesome.

The series focused on the lives of a group of teenage friends living in the fictional suburban town of Point Place, Wisconsin, from May 17, 1976, to December 31, 1979.

How is supernatural underrated man? This beats me... People are going nuts over it...
As for 'That 70s Show', well, it's outrageously witty. The show has given the world of entertainment, many stars...

The 70's show is today's version of Happy Days-but better.

I love this show! It's one of my favorites! I just wish Hyde and jackie got back together they were the best couple.

Underrated? This stupid show is too overrated if you ask me.

Insanely Funny. Intelligent, nuanced, humor. So absolutely incredible that Fox cancelled it! I still can't believe it.

This proves that everybody deserve to go to hell, everybody is horrible.

Too bad it is so underrated. Great cast and intelligent and funny humour. - NoobPwner

Intelligent humour! Love Michael cera! Hopefully the movie comes out as promised!

6 Hannibal
7 Firefly

A huge SCANDAL in history cancelling the show! It could have been one of the best shows ever. It's incredible how much you already like the characters after one season...

A brilliant western/sci-fi show that caught me by surprise... highly recommended!

If any show warranted a reboot it was Firefly. If it were made today, Netflix would have bought the rights and continued the show.

It only had one season

10 Scrubs Scrubs

One of the only shows that had hilarious moments and then a couple minutes later had touching or inspirational moments. The soundtrack was impeccable along with the casting (just look at the janitor, todd, and ted). I've learned more life lessons from this show than anywhere else, but I've also laughed as much with this show as others.

No one talks about this when naming big sitcoms and yet it arguably has elements of all of them hilariously and emotionally wrapped into one hospital full of caricatures, life lessons, and most importantly a universal sense of empathy not only between the characters but with the viewers as well

Funny, sad, teaching and makes you think. Some of the most under rated actors of all time. Moments to remember of the rest of your life and feeling that you just wont forget. RIP scrubs...

If you don't vote scrubs, you haven't seen it.

I love all the plot lines and plot twists, it is so unpredictable and full of surprises! The characters are likable and relatable, and I can never get enough of it! So glad I watched this show! - missyweirdo

Great show but so underrated compared to TWD or GOT

YESS IT SHOULD BE HIGHER UP. I stopped watching after Jason killed off Lexa though. I still watch it I mean it's just that I don't get that excited for a new episode. I used to crave the next episodes because of Clexa but now eh. It's still rlly good and I stopped watching at like the 5th episode of s4 but I'm planning on binge watching the episodes I missed soon. I just wanna see more c[lexa] references lol. I'm gay oml - DamonAlbarnBlur

13 Death Note Death Note Death Note is a Japanese television drama series based on the manga series of the same name by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. The show is centered around Light Yagami a promising highschooler and aspiring detective with a strong sense of "justice".

Sorry, but in the world of anime, Death Note is overrated. Sure, there are a lot of people who aren't into anime, and this list is just T.V. shows in general, but Death Note underrated? Definitely not.

Please, this is a really good anime, but it is not even close to underrated - BlazingPhoenix

The story of a book that when you write a name in the book it kills them, falling into the wrong hands. Simple yet genius. A show that not underratedbut worth watching.

This is underrated compared to how much people go on about survivor - htoutlaws2012

SO underrated. It does not get enough credit. Probably one of the best reality T.V. shows of all time.

Decint,but not underrated. It's a show I've seen a lot, and I think it actually might be overrated.It really isn't funny,isn't sad,nothing special!

17 Psych

My favorite T.V. show (other than Hell's Kitchen)! It is hilarious, but no one seems to know what it is!

Psych is so underrated. It is very funny and the writers are very talented. I think that some people are to busy watching stupid shows, they get blindsided and they don't recognize good shows when they see them. I lot of people haven't heard of it, and that is what gets me. I have been watching Psych since I was little. Thank goodness watchathon week was on on demand so anyone could watch most shows for free that they couldn't before because it costed money, and Psych was one of them. I couldn't take my eyes off it. Psych keeps you on your toes, and adds so much humer, its unimaginable. Plus, I love all the references they make. I just wish that more people knew about it!

Such a hilarious show! I love Shawn and Gus and how they know each other so well. Their friendship has lasted for so long and held up strong. Really makes you wish for friends like them so you can go on wacky detective adventures! - NerdBunny

Sucks how no one really knows about Psych - t's definitely on of my favourite shows.

20 Daria Daria Daria is an American animated television series created by Glenn Eichler and Susie Lewis Lynn for MTV.

22 Archer Archer

The fact that this show does not receive any were near the publicity of awfully dumb shows such as Family Guy is criminal. This show is not only absolutely hilarious, but it is also intelligent and brilliant in every possible way. For those of you who don't watch this, your heading right into the "DANGER ZONE"!

Wait... I had something for this.
Archer is right now the best adult comedy. Very crude yet extremely smart writing. Season 6 airs January 2015 on FX, take a look for yourself. I bet you'll find it anything short of awesome.

23 Malcolm In the Middle Malcolm In the Middle Malcolm in the Middle is an American television sitcom created by Linwood Boomer for the Fox Broadcasting Company . The series was first broadcast on January 9, 2000 and ended its six-year run on May 14, 2006, after seven seasons and 151 episodes . The series received critical acclaim and won a Peabody more.

This is a funny show, and I love it to bits. It is most definitely underrated

The Middle and Modern Family as well

Much better than today's sitcoms

24 Rocko's Modern Life Rocko's Modern Life Rocko's Modern Life is an American animated television series created by Joe Murray for Nickelodeon. The series centers on the surreal life of an anthropomorphic Australian-immigrant wallaby named Rocko as well as his friends: the gluttonous steer Heffer, the neurotic turtle Filburt, and Rocko's faithful more.

This was an excellent show. In fact, its only weakness was that 1) it was designed mostly for older kids an younger kids didn't understand it, 2) its top three most adult jokes still have not made it past censors, 3) its running time was questionable, and 4) it took about 21 years for the show to finally get complete DVD support on a single box set. Though one harsh d-bag critic at Entertainment Weekly may have dismissed it as a "witless Ren&Stimpy ripoff" (false) "with tons of mucus jokes and not enough surreality" (bald-faced lies), this show was a testament to clever writing, memorable episodes, edgy humor, hilarious dialogue, brilliant life satire, and excellent art style. I may not love it to death, but I definitely enjoy its style. I will probably buy the Complete Series someday. Classic little show, and one of my top 5 favorite cartoons.

Hold on, the running was not questionable. In fact, it was actually basically exactly the same number of episodes as the Ren & Stimpy series; in my opinion, it was truly a perfect length for the series. - xandermartin98

Scratch that, I personally totally loved this show to death. I just didn't buy any merchandise

Most underrated Nicktoon. - Goatworlds

25 The Thundermans The Thundermans The Thundermans is an American tween sitcom created by Jed Springarn. The show first aired in 2013 and is still running as of 2016. This show is about a family of superheroes who have adjusted to living a normal suburban life. On July 27, 2017, Nickelodeon released a statement to J-14, stating that more.

It's overrated because of the laugh tracks, and because it copies Lab Rats, The Incredibles & Wizards of Waverly Place.

No, it deserves the hate it gets. The laugh track plays every second and it's a rip-off of Wizards of Waverly Place and The Incredibles.

Yes Everybody Does Hate Chris That's Why He's So Underrated.

36 Buffy, The Vampire Slayer

This show is not underrated but overrated. Now that it's finished it's still overrated. This show had annoying characters. For instance, Buffy who couldn't get over with her break up with this stupid Angel character for at least 4 seasons, Willow who acted like a retard and who was supposed to be a genius, Giles the English librarian who seems to have a speech problem, Dawn the hysteric sister with overdramatic manners. The coolest person in fact was Cordellia who realized how stup,.id this characters were. So glad this show is over!

I have been watching this show since it first came out in 1997 and I still watch it now, nearly ten years since the final episode and it never fails to make me cry, laugh, smile, angry etc. Overall, the best television show to ever grace the silver screen.

The best show ever made, just awesome from start to end. It should've been praised more and be given more attention had people opened their mind up to that kind of shows. Overall, Buffy rules.

Literally everybody knows this show what - missyweirdo

The series follows an ensemble cast of characters played by Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Alison Brie, Donald Glover, Ken Jeong, more.

How is this not number 1? It was put on hiatus because of 30 Rock coming back on NBC (which I am no arguing), but it is simply one of the most hilarious and witty T.V. shows on the air.

Very well written characters, superb writing staff and acting. I especially liked Abed and the dean.

47 Regular Show Regular Show Regular Show is an American animated television series created by J. G. Quintel for Cartoon Network that premiered on September 6, 2010. The series revolves around the lives of two friends, a blue jay named Mordecai and a raccoon named Rigby—both employed as groundskeepers at a local park.

Both Adventure time and regular show are overrated in my opinion
