Top 10 NBA Teams

The Top Ten
1 Los Angeles Lakers The Los Angeles Lakers are an American professional basketball team based in Los Angeles. The Lakers compete in the National Basketball Association, as a member of the league's Western Conference Pacific Division.

Head coach: Frank Vogel

Arena/Stadium: Staples Center

NBA championships: 2020, 2010, 2009, 2002, 2001, 2000, 1988, 1987, 1985, 1982, 1980, 1972, 1954, 1953, 1952, 1950,... read more

The Lakers are the best. Wilt, Shaq, Magic, LeBron, Kobe, Kareem, AD are awesome. I had an awesome childhood watching Kobe and Shaq dunking over everyone. Rest in peace, Kobe. The Celtics fans do not even care that Kobe died. They just whine about that they are the best. If you really think about it, the Lakers are the G.O.A.T. Plus, the Celtics lost to the friggin' Suns. We also beat the Celtics. If you ask me, the Bucks should be number 2. Kareem is the one with six titles and MVPs, Wilt is the one who scored 30,000 points in his career, Magic is known for his "Magic Touch" passing skills, LeBron is known for his slam dunking, Kobe is known for his stylish dunks, and AD is known for being the first pick in the NBA 2012 draft.

The 16 titles are not the difference. How about the celebrity fan base? Here are the 20 reasons why the Lakers are the best franchise ever:

1. Celebrity fan base
2. Winning
3. Kobe
4. Championships
5. The '80s
6. Magic Johnson
7. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
8. Their athletes
9. The '00s
10. They're in L.A.
11. Wilt
12. Shaq
13. Their battles with the Celtics
14. Fan interest
15. Their great players
16. They're in California
17. They have 4 of the top ten greatest players in NBA history
18. Playoff wins
19. The multitude of great players
20. Their records

2 Boston Celtics The Boston Celtics are an American professional basketball team based in Boston, Massachusetts. They are specifically known for honing infamous players such as Larry Bird, Bill Russell, Paul Pierce, and more. They are also known for having the most championships in NBA History, with 17 total.

I'm going to compare the Celtics and the Lakers all time so we can finally find out who's better.

As of January 23, 2023, both the Celtics and Lakers have the most championships with 17 each. The Celtics have made 22 finals while the Lakers have made 32. The Celtics' all-time record is 3548-2449, which is second for win percentage and most recorded wins in NBA history. The Lakers' all-time record is 3482-2405, which is third in win percentage and second in wins. In head-to-head all time, the Celtics lead the rivalry 207-164 and are 9-3 against the Lakers in the finals.

The Celtics are definitely better than the Lakers and will always be a better franchise. They have 17 championships, which is tied with the Lakers for the most. They had 8 straight from 1959-1966 and played in 10 consecutive NBA finals from 1957-1966. Bill Russell was injured in the 1958 finals when the Celtics lost. We also have the most recorded wins in NBA history. We also have the most Hall of Famers with 40. I'm going to list some players that they had. They had Bill Russell, Larry Bird, Bob Cousy, John Havlicek, Kevin McHale, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Tom Heinsohn, Sam Jones, Dennis Johnson, Robert Parish, and Rajon Rondo.

3 Chicago Bulls The Chicago Bulls are an American professional basketball team based in Chicago, Illinois. The Bulls compete in the National Basketball Association as a member of the league's Eastern Conference Central Division.

Arena/Stadium: United Center
Head coach: Fred Hoiberg

Mascot: Benny the Bull

NBA championships: 1998, 1997, 1996, 1993, 1992, 1991

Did you know: The Chicago... read more

Welcome back, D-Rose! Carlos, Noah, Nate, Rip, Jimmy, Coach, and those other confident men who think they can back up MJ's Bulls for the second greatest Bulls era. Maybe, next year out of nowhere, they go 73-9 and become the best Bulls era. We don't know, and we can't wait to see everybody's future.

The Chicago Bulls were one of the best sports teams of the 1990s thanks to Michael Jordan. They won three back-to-back NBA final series games twice during that decade. They were unstoppable. Way to go, Bulls!

The Bulls are the best team in the league. They consistently beat teams like the Cavs and the Raptors, and they also have players like Jimmy Butler. What could be better?

4 San Antonio Spurs The San Antonio Spurs are an American professional basketball team based in San Antonio, Texas. The Spurs compete in the National Basketball Association as a member of the league's Western Conference Southwest Division.

The definition of professionalism and consistency. Pop and company have shown the ability to adapt to changes in the game and be at the forefront of innovation. They retool and add players that fit their philosophy. They used small ball to dominate the Heat in the finals rematch. They attack weaknesses in opposing teams. With this level of competence from top to bottom, they have been perennial championship contenders, and they have not shown signs of slipping.

One of the most professional and disciplined sports franchises anywhere, the Spurs are the bastion of what team basketball actually is. They're truly the model of how an NBA team should be run, and it's shown since they've won 5 championships since 1999. You really can't help but respect what Popovich and Co. have done, especially considering that the Spurs are in a very small market in San Antonio.

By far the best professional sports franchise for almost a quarter of a century now. Look it up. Oh, and with continuous "small market" dismissiveness perpetuated by Stern and others in smaller markets who control the flow, the 7th largest city, and by far the most popular NBA team in Texas, the question you need to ask yourself is: "What's REALLY REAL?" Puro San Antone, fools. To summarize, no talk, lots of walk!

5 Golden State Warriors The Golden State Warriors are an American professional basketball team based in San Francisco. The Warriors compete in the National Basketball Association as a member of the league's Western Conference Pacific Division.

Location: San Francisco, CA

Arena/Stadium: Chase Center

Head coach: Steve Kerr

NBA championships: 2018, 2017, 2015, 1975, 1956, 1947

Owners: Joseph... read more

I think the Warriors are a top three team. I think that the Bulls are lower. The only reason the Bulls have even won championships is when Scottie Pippen came and helped MJ. The Warriors are in a tough spot right now after losing KD and Boogie. They are the underdogs. D-Lo will help the offense when Klay is out with his ACL injury. They have won 6 championships. The best franchise, in my opinion, is the Lakers. Even though they are rivals with the Warriors, they have had some of the best players of all time.

I was recently talking to a friend and I told him I'm a Warriors fan. Turns out he's a Spurs fan. His reaction is a disgusted face and he says, "The Warriors are just a bunch of wannabes." I'm like, "What are you talking about!? Sure, you have Kawhi, Aldridge, and Gasol, but the Warriors got Curry, Durant, Thompson, Green." He still didn't believe the Warriors are better. But right now, they hold the wins record in a single season with a record of 73-9. Honestly, I think the Warriors are the greatest team of all time.

6 Miami Heat The Miami Heat is an American professional basketball team based in Miami, Florida. The Heat compete in the National Basketball Association as a member of the league's Eastern Conference Southeast Division.

For me, they are most likely the team that will do it. I know, again. But, that is what I see from my eyes. James will be the same, will get better, and does get better every day. So will Wade, who, after an up and down year, has a fresh new start ahead. Chris Bosh, I don't know about his decisions on taking 3's, but Allen will make most of his. Birdman will have another great year.

For one, the Heat is way better than any other team in the NBA. I mean, really look at the rankings. They beat the Celtics, the Bulls, and the Lakers. They should be at the top of the list, not 3rd.

Miami Heat is the greatest NBA team in the league. They beat the Thunder in the Championship. They have LeBron, Wade, and Bosh, some of the greatest players.

7 Cleveland Cavaliers The Cleveland Cavaliers, also known as the Cavs, are an American professional basketball team based in Cleveland, Ohio.

Definitely should be higher. They have LeBron, Kyrie, Love, and an underrated bench. They could use another star to beat the Warriors but should be number 2.

A lot of things make the Cavs great, but the best things are LeBron James, for obvious reasons, and the fans because they keep rooting for the Cavs, even though they never won an NBA championship, yet.

LeBron to Kyrie to Love to everyone on the team - they will demolish everything and everyone who stands in their way to golden victory! Cavs for life!

8 Oklahoma City Thunder The Oklahoma City Thunder are an American professional basketball team based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Westbrook is finally recovering. Durant, Perk, Serge, and a great young coach. You know, it is hard to lose a great coach like Maurice Cheeks, but they have that bright future in front of them. They are young and talented. When they get older and learn more from the game, they will probably capture that ring.

Westbrook and PG13 will lead our boys to a championship. We got some awesome big men such as Noel, Adams, and Patterson. My man Andre Roberson is healthy again, with Dennis Schroder being the 6th Man of the Year...

Just because the Thunder didn't win a championship doesn't mean they are bad. Remember how the Cavs came back from a 3-1 series against the Warriors?

9 New York Knicks The New York Knickerbockers, commonly referred to as the Knicks, are an American professional basketball team based in the borough of Manhattan, in New York City.

The New York Knicks are on their way to rebuilding and are expected to be Championship contenders in the next season. I believe in their spirit to be better and to do what is necessary to get on top.

10 Los Angeles Clippers The Los Angeles Clippers, often abbreviated as the LA Clippers, are an American professional basketball team based in Los Angeles.

Paul, Griffin, Jordan, Dudley, Crawford, Mr. Big Shot, Doc, Barnes, Odom, Collison, Redick. Ten players and one fine, great coach named Doc. Donald Sterling did a pretty good job doing his job. A championship team is what people think. But, I think they are a finals team because I think Miami can do it.

I actually met them at the Santa Monica Pier in 2015. I honestly did not expect that, and it was a once-in-a-lifetime moment that I will never forget. I even got a free t-shirt from them! (I am from Philly)

The Contenders
11 Toronto Raptors The Toronto Raptors are a Canadian professional basketball team based in Toronto, Ontario. The Raptors compete in the National Basketball Association, as a member of the league's Eastern Conference Atlantic Division.

Toronto Raptors have always been my favorite team, but I never lost doubt! When they first traded DeMar DeRozan, I think that might have been the best thing they've done. They have done way better with Danny Green and Kawhi Leonard. But don't get me wrong, DeMar was a great player too. But this year, Raptors are going all the way. Best of luck for Sunday night, let's be #1.

Go, Lowry! It's hard to win the playoffs, but I think the Raptors will win!

They literally just won the finals. Come on, why aren't they ranked higher?

12 Houston Rockets The Houston Rockets are an American professional basketball team based in Houston, Texas. The Rockets compete in the National Basketball Association, as a member of the league's Western Conference Southwest Division.

Bad decision by D. But, great future for Dwight David Defense Howard. You also have to fear the beard and watch out for what games Jeremy Lin will come out of nowhere and be the player of the game. Also, watch for Chandler Parsons and Omer Asik. They could be important pieces for them.

They have a huge player who is my model of basketball, JAMES HARDEN! I think he is the #1 basketball player.

Weird Beard is a beast, and the Rockets should be ahead of the Spurs!

13 Philadelphia 76ers The Philadelphia 76ers are an American professional basketball team based in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

They've had some good history. Lately, they have no skill, and even the past 10 years have all been unlucky.

They are pretty bad now. Before the 2000s, they were actually pretty good.

They are an odd team because they have Iverson, who is the most overrated NBA player of all time, and Moses Malone, who is the most underrated player of all time.

14 Utah Jazz The Utah Jazz are an American professional basketball team based in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Jazz compete in the National Basketball Association as a member club of the league's Western Conference Northwest Division.

Late '90s magic. And John Stockton, of course.

15 Indiana Pacers An American professional basketball team, the Indiana Pacers are based in Indianapolis, Indiana. They are a member of the Central Division in the Eastern Conference of the NBA. The Pacers have seen significant success in the league playoffs and sport navy, gold, and white as their team colors.

They have a great shot blocker so that even if they have a failing offense, Roy Hibbert can still take over. Including a lockdown defender in George and West. Then a young coaching talent in Frank Vogel. Bright future.

16 Dallas Mavericks The Dallas Mavericks are an American professional basketball team based in Dallas, Texas. The Mavericks compete in the National Basketball Association as a member club of the league's Western Conference Southwest Division.

How could they be at number 7?! They may have just one ring in the league, but still, they have a roster that has many veterans like Nowitzki, Kidd, Terry, and Stojakovic! And Miami stunk in game 2 of the 2011 finals after Dirk's 3 and the finishing lay-up! They should be higher than the Heat! Bosh, James, Wade, you call yourselves the big three?!

Really? 7? They should be in the top 5. They have great shooters, great players, and a great coach. They beat the Miami Heat.

Only 16, should be top 8 since they destroyed the Heat in 2011. Really awesome comeback.

17 Phoenix Suns

Barkley and Nash were two incredible players. Possibly the best team that never won the championship.

Kevin Durant was goated. They are improving and improving, I think they're set to win a championship soon...

18 Detroit Pistons The Detroit Pistons are an American professional basketball team based in Detroit, Michigan. The Pistons compete in the National Basketball Association as a member of the league's Eastern Conference Central Division.

Drummond, Jackson, Morris, Caldwell, Johnson. They play great as a team, and I hope they win next year.

Does anyone remember the Bad Boys era of the 1980s with Isaiah Thomas, Dennis Rodman, Joe Dumars, and Bill Laimbeer? It's not just about the Chauncey, Rip, Rasheed, Prince, and Ben era.

Detroit Pistons are good at moving on, and they keep moving forward no matter what.

19 Milwaukee Bucks The Milwaukee Bucks are an American professional basketball franchise based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Bucks compete in the National Basketball Association as a member team of the Eastern Conference Central Division.

Come on, man! We should be higher. We have the best record right now in 2020! We have Giannis and everyone. We should be way higher, like number two. The Celtics have more losses than wins, for crying out loud! The Celtics have nothing on us.

The Bucks should be number 2 and replace the Celtics. The Bucks have Giannis, Khris Middleton, Eric Bledsoe, Kareem, and Oscar Robertson. They also are better than the Bulls. The Milwaukee Bucks won over the Bulls.

Why are we so low? We should be at least in the top 5. Please, more votes for the Bucks! Does anyone even remember that we're the 2021 champs?

20 Portland Trailblazers The Portland Trail Blazers, commonly known as the Blazers, are an American professional basketball team based in Portland, Oregon.

A lot of people forgot about this amazing team. Okay, they aren't the best, but they should be at least in the top 10. They seem to destroy the Warriors, who are currently the best team in the NBA. They have great players. I don't even know what else to say. They are good.

Umm, objectively speaking, we are definitely the best NBA team in history, using facts.

Looks like people forgot about Clyde Drexler, Bill Walton, Terry Porter, and now Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum. Come on, they should be top 10.

21 Orlando Magic The Orlando Magic are an American professional basketball team based in Orlando, Florida. The Magic compete in the National Basketball Association as a member club of the league's Eastern Conference Southeast Division.

They aren't that amazing anymore. They were really good when they had SHAQ, and even before then they had a strong roster. They aren't the worst team right now though.

I think they are a really good team, on my opinion they should be top 11 or 12.

22 Memphis Grizzlies The Memphis Grizzlies are an American professional basketball team based in Memphis, Tennessee. The Grizzlies compete in the National Basketball Association as a member team of the league's Western Conference Southwest Division.

Just having Conley, Z-Bo, Marc, Bayless, Quincy, and all the others gives them a great future. The sweep last year was only due to the Spurs' luck and the Grizzlies' frustration.

23 Minnesota Timberwolves The Minnesota Timberwolves are an American professional basketball team based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

At least they're ahead of the New Jersey Nets!

Come on, with K.G. back, we've got this in the bag.

24 Atlanta Hawks The Atlanta Hawks are an American professional basketball team based in Atlanta, Georgia. The Hawks compete in the National Basketball Association as a member of the league's Eastern Conference Southeast Division.

What! Atlanta made it to the playoffs, unlike all these sucky teams! How are the Cavs and the Hornets better than Atlanta! They didn't even make the playoffs.
#ATL

25 Brooklyn Nets The Brooklyn Nets are an American professional basketball team based in the borough of Brooklyn, in New York City. The Nets compete in the National Basketball Association as a member of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference.

In my description earlier, I made fun of Boston because KG, Terry, and Pierce were gone. They were going to Brooklyn. With already Deron, Joe, Brook, a new coach in Kidd, but Billy King is that man who can make a move at any time. He could even waive Deron if he wants to, which he won't. They have KG, Pierce, and veterans that can help in Jason's up and downs.

Very underestimated. Even though they aren't very good, they somehow destroy very strong teams, such as the Warriors.

One of the best all-time starting lineups in the NBA: PG Jason Kidd, SG Richard Jefferson, SF Julius 'Dr.J' Erving, PF Kenyon Martin, C Brook Lopez. A very underrated team!
