Top 10 Best Diss Songs

The Top Ten
1 Hit 'Em Up - 2Pac

After 2Pac's shooting, we all know he was upset with Biggie, but I think it was because Biggie didn't do anything to stop it, even though he knew, or it was because he wasn't thinking straight. Pac was willing to walk away from this beef, until "Who Shot Ya?". After this song came out, it wasn't a beef anymore. It was personal. 2Pac let Biggie into his home. He got Biggie into the rap game. He had his man's back when he needed 2Pac.

Biggie didn't have his man's back. But he repaid 2Pac for all he did for him by kicking him while he was down with "Who Shot Ya?". This was not a rap beef. This was an attack on 2Pac as a person, not a rapper. 2Pac didn't just use this song to diss Biggie. He used it to tell him how betrayed he felt. When he said that he wanted Biggie to die, he meant it. He wanted Christopher Wallace dead. He never acted on it, but he wanted him to die, and he made this clear before he died.

2 O Piçte Bendim - Norm Ender

Rap was not recognized in Turkey. Norm joined the Academy Turkey contest. Made it to the finals. But they wanted him to sing pop in the finals. He then left the competition. He wrote many diss tracks ahead of his time. He criticized all Turkish rappers on this diss track. This is the best diss track of Turkey.

He disses the earth and the sky, but nobody can answer him. You can't fight with him. Just shut up and listen to it.

Norm is quiet, but when the time comes, he opens his mouth and turns things upside down. No one can answer him.

3 Ether - Nas

I just love how he wins in the 1st verse. Coming right out and stating that Tupac, Biggie, and himself are the three best rappers at that time (arguably the top 3 ever...), then asking Jay-Z to name a rapper that he didn't influence... He KOs Jay-Z in the first verse of a diss song, that's why he gets my vote.

Nas absolutely murdered Jay, and I love the way Nas raps. Well, I think Jay had to go through a lot of thinking about taking on Nas. Jay's career was on life-support after this, and the only reason it was saved was because he discovered Queen B and then got better after it. He worked with a lot of great rappers and became even better than he was during this stage, but never managed to get close to Nas ever again.

4 No Vaseline - Ice Cube

This has to be the best diss song of all time! He lyrically destroys NWA with this song! 'Hit 'Em Up' is pretty much just as good, but what makes 'No Vaseline' better is that it is just Ice Cube dissing his old group. 'Hit 'Em Up' would be better if it was just Tupac dissing the whole East Coast. But the Outlawz are still good.

After Ice Cube left NWA to fly solo, the group included a number of disrespectful remarks aimed at their ex-bandmate in their new songs. 'No Vaseline' was Cube's response to these remarks, and what a fiery and eloquent response it was.

5 Real Muthaphukkin G'S - Eazy-E

The godfather of old-school rap. Real Muthaphukkin G's is easily the best diss song ever made. From start to finish, Dre and Snoop were quiet after this one.

The beat, the disses, the flow. Amazing diss track. I've always preferred this to Hit 'Em Up and Ether. This is what makes Eazy a classic rapper.

Look, I got respect for Dre and Snoop, but this song just DESTROYS the duo. Hey Eazy, you are the undisputed boss of diss tracks.

6 The Warning - Eminem

He dissed Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon. And they did have relations. I saw the sextape. That's all the proof people need.

He murdered Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon on this track! He left them wordless!

Not even Nick Cannon could send for him after this. If he tried to send for Eminem, he would have Eminem write the diss for him.

7 Takeover - Jay-Z

NAS had no chance against this. He attacked him from all corners. Ether was corny, saying childish stuff like "Gay-Z" and "fat lips." Come on.

The hell?! How are these diss songs? Kill you?! What part of that is a diss song?! This is a REAL diss song! One of the best ever!

Really number 12, but Eminem has 2 over this. He's dissing non-rappers while Jay is dissing a top 5 MC. Ether and Takeover are 1 and 2 in my book.

8 Dre Day - Dr. Dre

Dre killed three careers from this. After this, Luke from 2 Live Crew didn't do much, Eazy didn't have a hit, and Tim Dogg was never heard from again.

Whoever said Eazy didn't have a hit after this song is a complete dumbass. Eazy-E released a double platinum EP after this song, destroying him back.

Gotta love all these Dre haters, but honestly, guys, Dre won the battle.

9 2nd Round KO - Canibus

Was a pretty good diss track. Sure, LL Cool J is way more famous than Canibus will ever be, but at the time he made this diss track, LL Cool J had stopped making good rap songs and had been writing poppy hip-hop songs, which is what LL Cool J became famous for.

Canibus is an underground rapper. He will never be famous because he rapped about deep stuff that most people just will not understand. His stuff was deeply philosophical, whereas LL made diss tracks, love songs, and songs about love for the radio.

10 Killshot - Eminem

Eminem dissed a rapper who knows way more about him than the other way around and made it look easy. Rhyme patterns, wordplays, sick beat, build-up - he got it all there. A crazy follow-up to Not Alike, which should also make the top 20 in my opinion.

He literally bodied MGK. He used MGK's bars on Rap Devil and delivered a very powerful counter diss. The beef has just started. We're still going to listen to much better diss tracks.

Eminem literally tears every diss from Rap Devil apart piece by piece, trashes it, then shoots his own disses back at MGK that are totally factual. He destroyed him.

The Contenders
11 The Bridge is Over - Boogie Down Productions
12 Nail In the Coffin - Eminem

Nobody destroyed their opponent like Eminem did in this track, and no one will ever do that to a man's career like that ever again. Nas destroyed Jay-Z with "Ether", but at least Jay-Z put up a fight with "Takeover", so it didn't end his career. Benzino here comes up trying to attack him. Benzino was a weak, scrawny, pathetic opponent. Not everyone knew that when he dissed Em, but Eminem reminded us how stupid this guy was.

He didn't just diss him as part of hip-hop culture. He absolutely, 100% annihilated every single atom of credibility Benzino had. He took the man out of him. Eminem showed us that this idiot never belonged in the game to begin with. Benzino's career was more than over once Em did this. It was an embarrassment to him, and that embarrassment will stay with him until the day he dies. This is why no one, not even Drake, hell, not even Biggie, would win in a feud with Eminem. Marshall Bruce Mathers III is the greatest battle rapper of all time. Period.

13 Hailie's Revenge - Eminem

This isn't higher because Eminem never had beef with good rappers like Nas vs Jay. If Eminem had had beef with more popular rappers, he'd be number 1 because he is the best rapper to ever pick up a mic.

God, how is Kim above this? He murdered Ja Rule's career with this, and it was an all-out diss. This was the 2000s' Hit 'Em Up.

Great flow and beat. I loved that he stood up for his daughter because of the disrespectful things Ja Rule said.

14 Murekkep Doldurdum - Ceza

If this man's language was English, he would be a world star!

15 Kır Kalbini Ver Elime - Sagopa Kajmer

From the king of Turkish rap to the master of Turkish rap.

16 The Sauce - Eminem

Why is this not top ten? I've never heard someone get roasted so hard in a diss. Benzino didn't stand a chance against Eminem and his angry delivery makes it so much better. No one disses like Eminem.

17 Extra Extra - Devlin
18 Who Shot Ya? - Notorious B.I.G.

This one was never intended as a diss track. I definitely believe Biggie when he says this was written before 2Pac got shot. But he released this song to kick a man while he's down. 2Pac was originally mad at Biggie about the shooting for two understandable reasons:

1. He got shot five times, once in the head. When something like that happens to you, your brain doesn't think straight. 2Pac let this blow over until this track came out.

2. There is no way possible that Biggie didn't know who shot Pac. Even if he did warn 2Pac, he didn't have his man's back. 2Pac was Biggie's mentor. He brought him into his home, he helped him get in the rap game, and Biggie still didn't have his man's back.

But when Biggie released this song, it wasn't just a rap beef anymore. It was personal. This is what prompted "Hit Em Up," not the shooting itself. Biggie was too mad about the media blowing it out of proportion, so he made the problem worse. This song was the turning point from a regular rap beef that was going to blow over quickly, to when things got dangerous.

19 You Ain't Nothing - Trina
20 Back Down - 50 Cent

Underrated. I mean, 30? This needs to move up ASAP! He ended Ja Rule with this one.

21 F*** Wit Dre Day - Dr. Dre
22 Jack the Ripper - LL Cool J
23 Free Meal - Funk Volume
24 Murderation - Shystie
25 Girls - Eminem
