The Contenders: Page 10

181 For Today For Today For Today is an American Christian metalcore band from Sioux City, Iowa, formed in 2005. They are currently signed to Nuclear Blast Records.

They have some of the sickest break downs and one of the most powerful and influential messages. And they are actually HEAVY metal. Full of screaming passion.

183 Forever Storm
184 Alien Weaponry

Look out for this young band. They are going to rule the world. Like Trivium, they started very young while still at school.

185 Screaming for Silence

If you just give them a try, you'll get why I put this band. They should be way more popular then they are now. They are awesome!

186 Affiance

One of the most talented, underrated bands out there.

187 Kalmah

They are very good

188 Motionless in White Motionless in White

This band is like Slipknot, Marilyn Mansion and Ramstein getting it on and having the most wicked metal baby ever. UM, or something like that... All I have to say is Devils Night is the best song out right now!

Seriously?!? 155? MIW is great! It belongs to top 10 com'n :/

189 Before the Dawn Before the Dawn
190 Between the Buried and Me Between the Buried and Me Between the Buried and Me is an American progressive metal band from Raleigh, North Carolina. Formed in 2000, the band consists of Tommy Giles Rogers, Jr.

BTBM deserves to be in the top 50 at least. They're the best band of the 2000s and completely changed the genre while less talented bands like Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet for my valentine, and linkin park just rehashed and ripped of great bands that came before them. BTBM doesn't deserve top ten or maybe even top 20 or 30 but they're amazing and should be ahead of most of the bands on this list

Fair enough. I don't think music has to be enjoyable, if that makes sense. What about a band that challenges you, the listener, to like them? These guys do, and I was taken aback by how good they are.

Probably, along with Sylosis, Within The Ruins, Born of Osiris, Protest The Hero etc. Making metal a scene that hasn't been as good since the mid-70's to 1995. Parallax II: Future Sequence is a mind-melting 72-minutes of conceptual insanity. Opeth can only dream of being like this mob.

191 Down Down Down is an American heavy metal supergroup that formed in 1991 in New Orleans, Louisiana. The band's current lineup consists of vocalist Phil Anselmo, guitarist Pepper Keenan, guitarist Bobby Landgraf, bassist Pat Bruders, and drummer Jimmy Bower.

In my opinion the best metal band, songs like Stone the crow, Eyes of the south, Lifer, Bury me in smoke... Words cannot describe how godlike their music is... PHIL ANSELMO IS A LEGEND!

192 Dope Dope

Dope is the best metal band ever and it should be on the top place.

193 Strapping Young Lad Strapping Young Lad Strapping Young Lad was a Canadian extreme metal band formed by Devin Townsend in Vancouver, British Columbia in 1994. The band started as a one-man studio project; Townsend played most of the instruments on the 1995 debut album, Heavy as a Really Heavy Thing.

How come they re below a7x and linkin park and all the other "metal" bands?

194 Whitechapel Whitechapel Whitechapel is an American deathcore band from Knoxville, Tennessee. The band is named after the Whitechapel district in East London, England, referencing the series of murders committed by Jack the Ripper. V 1 Comment

Peter Steele deserves a top 10 place! What a voice he had!

199 Triumph Triumph Triumph is a Canadian hard rock power trio that was popular in the late 1970s through the 1980s. Between the band's 16 albums and DVDs, Triumph has received 18 gold and 9 platinum awards in Canada and the United States.

Give them a listen. You will vote for them.

200 Flotsam and Jetsam Flotsam and Jetsam Flotsam and Jetsam is a thrash metal band that formed in Phoenix, Arizona in 1981. The band currently consists of vocalist Eric A.

Why is Pink Floyd on this list? They are my favourite band ever but they are not metal.

No Place For Disgrace is the best speed metal album ever made, and the 2014 remake is great, too.
