Good heavy metal band since 1999. - Centsia

Nice lyrics, Nice music - Centsia

162 Dir En Grey Dir En Grey DIR EN GREY is a Japanese metal band formed in 1997 and currently signed to Firewall Div., a sub-division of Free-Will.

DIR EN GREY is awesome unique band. Great sound of 2 guitars (Kaoru & Die), fantastic drummer (Shinya) & bassist (Toshiya). Kyo's vocal range is amazing, he's being able to "howl, croon, emote cleanly, scream, shriek, growl, bellow, and make nearly inhuman sounds". I love the way they made a progress since they started.

If it's heavy metal then DIR EN GREY are the boss!... Listen to any of their songs... They produce only the best... No one can sing the way Kyo does!...

163 Kittie Kittie Kittie are a Canadian heavy metal band formed in London, Ontario, in 1996. They have released six studio albums, one video album, four extended plays, thirteen singles and thirteen music videos.

BTBM deserves to be in the top 50 at least. They're the best band of the 2000s and completely changed the genre while less talented bands like Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet for my valentine, and linkin park just rehashed and ripped of great bands that came before them. BTBM doesn't deserve top ten or maybe even top 20 or 30 but they're amazing and should be ahead of most of the bands on this list

Fair enough. I don't think music has to be enjoyable, if that makes sense. What about a band that challenges you, the listener, to like them? These guys do, and I was taken aback by how good they are.

Probably, along with Sylosis, Within The Ruins, Born of Osiris, Protest The Hero etc. Making metal a scene that hasn't been as good since the mid-70's to 1995. Parallax II: Future Sequence is a mind-melting 72-minutes of conceptual insanity. Opeth can only dream of being like this mob.

168 Down Down Down is an American heavy metal supergroup that formed in 1991 in New Orleans, Louisiana. The band's current lineup consists of vocalist Phil Anselmo, guitarist Pepper Keenan, guitarist Bobby Landgraf, bassist Pat Bruders, and drummer Jimmy Bower.

In my opinion the best metal band, songs like Stone the crow, Eyes of the south, Lifer, Bury me in smoke... Words cannot describe how godlike their music is... PHIL ANSELMO IS A LEGEND!

171 Flotsam and Jetsam Flotsam and Jetsam Flotsam and Jetsam is a thrash metal band that formed in Phoenix, Arizona in 1981. The band currently consists of vocalist Eric A.

Why is Pink Floyd on this list? They are my favourite band ever but they are not metal.

No Place For Disgrace is the best speed metal album ever made, and the 2014 remake is great, too.

172 Steel Panther Steel Panther Steel Panther is an American comedy glam metal band from Los Angeles, California, mostly known for their profane and humorous lyrics, as well as their exaggerated on-stage personae that parody the stereotypical 1980s "glam metal" lifestyle.

They are so underrated and good

173 Soundgarden Soundgarden Soundgarden is an American rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1984 by singer and rhythm guitarist Chris Cornell, lead guitarist Kim Thayil, and bassist Hiro Yamamoto.

No, Soundgarden are a Sabbath-inspires metal band. There was only Seattle and flannelette shirts that united any of the Grunge movement. Nirvana were Punk, Pearl Jam were alternative rock, and AIC were heavy rock/metal, but Jesus Christ Pose is metal personified, along with countless others.

Come on people grunge isn't heavy metal. It's a mix up of alternative rock, punk rock, hard rock and heavy metal

They're great but they're a grunge band not a metal band. Just like Alice in Chains, which is another good band.

Come on! They're legends! Top 50 at least!

You only need to listen to the album 'Dormant Heart' to see why these Brits are the most aggressive, progressive, and technical thrash band on the planet now. Most of their albums are lengthy, but you won't even notice the 65+minutes go by. If you're impressed, then go grab the' Monolith' and 'Edge of the Earth' and their debut. These guys don't disappoint.

If they're already here, good. One of the best thrash metal bands going round.

178 Damageplan Damageplan Damageplan was an American heavy metal band from Dallas, Texas, formed in 2003. Following the demise of their previous group Pantera, brothers Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul Abbott wanted to start a new band. The band ended tragically when Dimebag Darrell was shot on stage in a show in Ohio.

Let us not forget, this was the last band to have Dimebag.

179 Melvins Melvins The Melvins are an American band that formed in 1983. They usually perform as a trio, but in recent years have performed as a four piece with two drummers.
