Top NBA Small Forwards of All Time
samyt23The Top Ten

No debate needed. Kevin Durant needed to join a superteam led by Steph Curry to win his first ring and first Finals MVP. Kevin Durant might pass LeBron as the best small forward of all time, but as of now, LeBron has a better career than him. Scottie Pippen needed Jordan, the greatest basketball player of all time by far in order to win 6 and I am sure he wouldn't have won even 1. Also, because of MJ, people act like he was a great offensive player, but he only averaged 20 points per game 3 times in his entire career and he also choked away a 3-1 lead as a member of the Portland Trail Blazers against the eventual champion Kobe Bryant & Shaquille O'Neal led Lakers (Biggest choke of all time before the 2016 Warriors choked a 3-1 lead against the Cavaliers in NBA Finals). Julius Erving won 3 of his 4 MVPs in ABA, and he also needed Moses Malone and Maurice Cheeks to win his first ring. As for Larry Bird, he is clearly one of the best of all time and one of the best shooters of all time, ...more - NBALists2049
Lbjtk is the best small forward and the 3rd best basketball player of all time in the world to a lot of people and he is because jordan and wilt is better than him by a little bit but is better then larry bird ok every stat ok lebron is my favorite basketball player go lbj and he will be the best basketball player in 2-5 years I bet and have 30, 000 points or more ok!
No debates needed LeBron my favourite player ever most valuable player of all time carried 2007 Cavs to finals if he had a little better team than he could potentially win
Larry was a power not a small. Back to back 60 win seasons without another allstar on the team. He had to play great so that the cavs could win 120 games and great for each and every win. Then back to back mvps.

Whoever thinks LeBron is better than Larry Bird, that's a shame!
I admit he is not the greatest of all time,(jk) but he was more committed to the sport than any other NBA player ever.
James is over him? What a crime.
Lebron James is number 1 best Small Forward all time no doubt just look at the all time lists if you guys don't believe me. Lebron James has played only three more seasons and is on the lists more times and on higher positions than Larry Bird. - ezyfire823
The hardest working player of all time. The most clutch player... EVER! Even better then M.J. he once told Xavier McDaniel where he was going to take the last second shot from before hand and it still didn't matter... Larry hit it in his face anyways. One word " LEGEND "

Dr. j... only player ever! with 30,000 points, 10,000 rebounds, 5,000 assists, 2,000 steals, 2,000 blocks!..16 years, 16 all star games, 16 playoff appearances, 16 1,000 plus points seasons, 4-time mvp, 3-rings, 2-all star mvp.. most admired, best showman, greatest in open court, greatest flyer/dunker EVER!
Hmm, not the only player to achieve those numbers. Wilt Chamberlain exceeded them substantially, including 23,000 rebounds [! ] and somewhere around 9,000-10,000 blocks [! ], but blocks and steals were not "officially" recorded during his career.

The Best SF in the NBA
number 1
Kevin Durant should be a bit higher than Pippen because Pippen was mainly a defensive Small Forward but can still score but Durant can do anything basically he is a good defender, a good shooter and Durant is only young and still has a lot more to do and is mainly in his prime if not a 5 probably a 6 because Durant is way better than Pierce
KD is way better than that crybaby Lebron James! - mrcroatia

Scottie Pippen is top 3 all time EASY. I could argue him at #1. Arguably best all-around defensive player all time, (defense wins championships). A better scorer in his prime than his career stats show. A versatile player who could run an offense similar to a point guard. Arguably the second best player in the league for years, and the ALl-Star MVP in Jordan's absence. Chuck Daily said Scottie was the second best player on the original Dream Team. Scottie could D-UP any other player on this list.
Why is the best perimeter defender of all time number 6? Sure he wasn't a lights out scorer.. Yet he could do everything you could ever want out of the 3 spot
He is the best defensive small forward - 2storm
I would go as far as to say Pippen is the most skilled and versatile SF of all-time. He had an insane b-ball IQ, point guard handles and court vision at 6'8 and could run your offense. He scored in every way imaginable. Had a low/high post game with footwork and counters that most other SFs (past and present) could only dream of. He had a great midrange game with one of the best bank shots you'll ever see. He developed a three point shot during the middle of his career and was deadly with the pull-up three. Most of all he was a great slasher, could finish at the rim with either hand and dunked over big men with a nastiness unrivaled.
And then we get to defense where he was absolutely one of the best of all-time. Whatever there was to be done on defense he did it...ball-hawking players full-court, playing passing lanes and was always a league leader in steals, blocking shots (was doing chasedown blocks when Lebron was in elementary school lol), going all over the court playing ...more

perfect

Unfortunately, Elgin played in the days before every game was taped and then replayed endlessly. Elgin was the original prototype for today's small forward.
He also had the highest season scoring average in the history of the NBA of anyone not named Wilt Chamberlain.
Yes, that is correct, his best season average is higher than MJ's best, but Elgin did it in 1962, the same year Wilt averaged over 50.
Nobody ever checks to see who came in "second" in scoring average.

Everyone shouts Paul Pierce even the other teams fans
He is for me the celtics player ever
Just look at his numbers and big games
He is probably the 2nd or 3rd best Celtic of all time probably not the 6th best Small Forward

The Contenders

This dude was seriously close to being the best there ever was. before his body started deteriorating in his prime he was the most versatile player to ever play the game, there was literally nothing this man couldn't do. but he'll just have to settle for the best that never was, and a good to fair chance of making it into the hall of fame eventually.
A defender's nightmare in the early 00's...opposing coaches couldn't come up with any stragety to help their team defend this guy

Kawhi Should Be Higher. He's Arguably The Best Player In The NBA Today

Greatest one on one scorer of all time
Yeah my dad loves you!
Should be around #6
yay

He is so good he is better than LeBron James iguodala has taken the sixers to the playoffs just by himself and LeBron james always has other great players and iguodala we always see him block LeBron and dunk on him so if they played LeBron would get destroyed
