Easily the best in my view. He has a fabulous range and variety. The pictures don't appear 'contrived' as in some works. The man was a ground breaker when it came to fashion photography and his name must the most famous among all British photographers. Apart from all that he must have something more than special about him to have shagged all those beautiful women!

Anyone that has been actually trained in the art of photography knows that Irving Penn is the man. Irving Penn understood how to take simple ideas and transcend those ideas so that the viewer could also make those ideas their own. Too many photographers, these days, are gimickie. Not Irving Penn. He line, form, and just composition to make compelling images that are timeless to this very day.
He is one of the greatest war photographers ever. His master pieces leads me into a tragic reality of the wars.
