Top 10 Greatest Voice Actors

The Top Ten
1 Mel Blanc

Are you serious? He's Not here? He voiced Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Woody Woodpecker, Yosemite Sam, Sylvester, Foghorn Leghorn, Marvin The Martian, Elmer Fudd, Coyote, Barney Rubble, Dino (Flinstones) Tweety Bird, Henery Hawk, Captain Caveman, Taz (Looney Tunes), Speedy Gonzalez and Many Many More! He's the greatest Voice Actor of All Time and you're telling me you people think that Patrick Warburton, an actor who uses the same voice like 10 times for 10 different characters is better than him? I don't think so.

2 Tom Kenny Thomas James Kenny is an American actor and comedian known for his long-running role as the title character in the SpongeBob SquarePants TV series and films. Kenny has voiced many other characters including Heffer Wolfe in Rocko's Modern Life, the Ice King in Adventure Time, the Mayor in The Powerpuff... read more

" I'm known for being *Spongebob voice* Spongebob from Spongebob Squarepants! *Ice King voice* The Ice King from Adventure time! *Rocko voice* Rokko from Rocko's Modern Life! *Narrator voice* The Narrator from the Power Puff Girls. *Mayor voice* The MAYOR from the Power Puff Girls! Uhh... and just like... a couple hundred other characters.

SpongeBob from SpongeBob, Ice King from Adventure Time, The Mayor of Townsville from Powerpuff Girls, Heffer Wolfe from Rocko's Modern Life, Eduardo from FHFIF, etc. He has played some of the most iconic cartoon characters of the last 20 years. He's a modern legend.

3 Tara Strong Tara Strong is a Canadian–American actress who has done work in numerous films and television series, both live-action and animated.

Tara is the woman with a hundred voices, including Harley Quinn and Raven. Her vocal capability is a benchmark for future all voice actors, rivalling other greats like Mel Blanc or Grey Delisle.

So she's in My Little Pony and stupid Teen Titans Go. So what?

I don't hate My Little Pony, but I think that Tara's character is the worst one on the show because she has to be the main subject of everything! She's also pretty bossy and mean.

As for Raven... (sigh), what can I say? I would've been okay if you liked the one of the original Teen Titans, but I draw the line at this one! Raven used to be Tara's only decent and tolerable character, but now (thanks to this show) she's an unfunny, bitchy, moody, annoying, poor excuse of a goth! It's very sad really!

4 Mark Hamill Mark Richard Hamill is an American actor and voice actor. He is best known for his portrayal of Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars trilogy – Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi and his portrayal of the Joker in Batman: the Animated Series.

Ok, after this man played luke skywalker (not voice acting) he went on to play THE most recognizable, THE most famous and, might I say, THE best super villains of all time. He not only played the joker, he BECAME the joker. On the spur of the moment he can slip into character. And when he slips into character he doesn't bring him to life, no no, he TRANSFORMS into the joker. Has anyone seen this man as he works, slap makeup on that poor fellow and put HIM in the next reboot of batman- as the joker of course.

An absolutely fantastic voice actor, he is considered the definitive Joker voice, voiced fire lord Ozai in ATLA, Skips in regular show, and voiced malefor in the final legend of spyro game (although the voice is so distorted you can't really tell it's him), just to name a few! He truly is a legend in creating characters.

5 Frank Welker Franklin Wendell Welker is an American voice actor best known for his role as Fred Jones from the Scooby-Doo franchise since its inception in 1969 and as the voice of Scooby-Doo since 2002. He is also known as the voice of Megatron in the Transformers franchise and as the voice and vocal effects of... read more

Why is that Seth dude any better than this guy? The voice of Lincoln Loud is apparently better than Jim Cummings? I should just leave this list alone because you voters know nothing about voice acting, Tara Strong above him is an even bigger joke.

Fran Welker should be #2 to Mel Blanc. I mean, this man voiced both Winnie the Pooh and Megatron. This proves that his range is second only to Mel's.

Scooby Doo.
Megatron.
Garfield.
And pretty much every non-talking cartoon animal ever.
He voiced them all. Your argument is invalid.

6 Dan Castellaneta

Seth Macfarlame can only do about 4 different voices - Peter, Stewie, Quagmire and then every other generic voice in family guy that all sound the same whereas Dan can do Homer Simpson, Grandpa Simpson, Barney Gumble, Krusty the Clown, Groundskeeper Willie, Hans Moleman Mayor Quimby and The Pimple faced teen now that's voice talent. And Seth Macfarlame is an unlikable jerk in real life

What the hell. How is this man, who voices tons of characters with different distinct voices behind Mark Hamil. He also is amazing in how is voice has held up after all his years on the Simpsons. Sure, being able to do Darty Vader is cool, just breathing ya know, but this guy can do it all.

7 John DiMaggio John William DiMaggio is an American actor, voice actor and comedian, known for his gruff voice, and for his work as Bender from the television show Futurama, Jake the Dog on Adventure Time, and Marcus Fenix in the hit Xbox video game Gears of War.

John is awesome voice actor he voices of Bender from Futurama, Jake from Adventure Time, Dr. Drakken from Kim Possible and Rico from The Penguins of Madagascar.

He's just plain awesome. One of if not the best since 1997. Bender from Futurama, Jake from Adventure Time, Shnitzel from Chowder, dozens of video games. Oh yeah, and he's also the spokesperson for Booking.com commercials.

Favorite voice actor of all time. My favorite one of his roles was Marcus Fenix.

8 Grey DeLisle Erin Grey Van Oosbree, credited as Grey DeLisle and Grey Griffin, is an American voice actress and singer-songwriter.

I grew up watching the shows she voiced major characters in: Avatar the Last Airbender, Fairly Oddparents, and the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy just to name a few.
Her voice was basically my childhood and I do believe people sell her short. Heck, some of the shows I saw on her wiki, I realized after the fact "Oh yeah! That was her! " She is able to breathe life into a character like few can.

She can play the nicest most innocent character in the form of Emily Elizabeth in Clifford the Big Red Dog.
Then she can play the most evil bat-crap crazy character in the form of Azula in Avatar: The Last Airbender.
A very talented voice actress that can literally play any character.

9 Billy West William Richard Werstine, known professionally as Billy West, is an American voice actor, singer, comedian, musician, songwriter and former radio personality who is known for his voice-over work in a number of television series, films, video games and commercials.

Stimpy, Ren (after John K. left the show), Mr. Horse (again, after John K. left), Fry, Professor Farnsworth, Dr. Zoidberg, Doug, Roger, Bugs Bunny, Elmer Fudd, and Bashful. What else can I say? This guy rocks!

He definitely is better than Tara Strong.

10 Seth MacFarlane Seth Woodbury MacFarlane is an American television producer, filmmaker, actor, and singer, working primarily in animation and comedy, as well as live-action and other genres.

Stop being mean to this guy! He may not be the best, but at least he puts effort into his voices and he seems like a nice person! This seems more like someone who overhated than someone who is overrated.

Sexy, gorgeous voice, amazing singer, voiced Brian, Peter, and Stewie Griffin. Quagmire, Tom Tucker, Roger the Alien, Stan Smith, and tim the Bear. Not to mention random appearances on Robot Chicken

Listen to his performance of Stewie Griffin pretending to be Brian in season 5 episode 5 when Stewie is talking to Jillian on the phone. Fantastic job done by Seth there.

Best voice ever. Didn't take me 2 seconds to realize he was playing Mufasa in the Lion King. It really made me sad when he died just because we would hear his epic low voice. And well, of course he voices the best villain in cinema, the one and only Darth Vader. He's just epic.

Very, very, very, very distinctive voice, and I'm a very big fan of Star Wars!

Once a stutterer like me, now famous for Darth Vader.

12 Hank Azaria Henry Albert Azaria is an American actor, voice actor, comedian and producer, known for his voice characterizations as a variety of characters in the animated sitcom The Simpsons, which include Moe Szyslak, Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, Chief Wiggum, Comic Book Guy, Carl Carlson and others.

He does the most voices on the Simpsons! I have practiced his voices a lot, and can do pretty good impressions of Chief Wiggum, Snake, Moe, and especially Dr. Nick!

13 Kevin Michael Richardson Kevin Michael Richardson is an American actor and voice actor who has portrayed a multitude of characters in various animated series and video games. He is known for his extremely deep voice and has been playing a wide variety of characters since the early 1990s, often villains. For voicing Joker in... read more

Jerome from Family Guy (among MANY others), various Simpsons characters, Cleveland Brown Jr., Principal Lewis in American Dad, Trigon from Teen Titans (the good series! ), Emmy nominated for the Joker. "Amazing" is an understatement!

Does anyone notice that he kind of looks like Principal Lewis? That is just awesome!

Deep booming voice. Trigon from Teen Titans. Dark Laser from Fairly Odd Parents. Mr. Gus from Uncle Grandpa.

14 June Foray June Lucille Foray was an American voice actress who was best known as the voice of such animated characters as Rocky the Flying Squirrel, Lucifer from Disney's Cinderella, Cindy Lou Who, Jokey Smurf, Granny from the Warner Bros.

Was stupid Tara Strong the female Mel Blanc in Looney Toons? HELL, NO! That would be June Foray. This is someone who I'm very surprised to see at the very bottom.

17? She deserves and has earned better than this.

She's in her 100's, and is still doing voices! Go, June!

15 Morgan Freeman Morgan Freeman (born June 1, 1937) is an American actor, director and narrator. He has appeared in a range of film genres portraying character roles and is particularly known for his distinctive deep voice. A voice for the ages. Any time this man speaks, everyone stops what they're doing and listens. Rare for people to have such a gift.

Pure Voice. He needs no character or animation to keep you attention. Just a subject and narration.

This guys could narrate an ant's life, and make me interested. Should be #1.

16 Tress MacNeille Tress MacNeille is an American voice actress. She has voiced characters for various animated television series such as The Simpsons, Futurama, Tiny Toon Adventures, Rugrats, Animaniacs, and Disney's House of Mouse.

I think she should be higher than Tara Strong because she's doing voice over work way before she did, she does much better voices, and is in a lot of amazing shows!

She voiced Dot Warner, Babs Bunny, Hello Nurse, Gadget And Chip from Rescue Rangers, and a lot of simpsons and futrama charcters. Why wasn't she on the list before this?

Why is she lower than Tara Strong?!? She's been in Animaniacs and Tiny Toon Adventures, for crying out loud!

17 Jim Cummings James Jonah "Jim" Cummings (born November 3, 1952) is an American voice actor and singer, who has appeared in almost 400 roles. He is known for voicing the title character from Darkwing Duck, Dr. Robotnik from Sonic the Hedgehog, Pete, Winnie the Pooh (since 1988), Tigger, Bonkers D. Bobcat and the... read more

Jim Cummings is not even in the top ten? Have you guys seen his resume? He has voiced Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Darkwing Duck, Scar from The Lion King, Peg Leg Pete, Negaduck, Ray the firefly, Steele from Balto, and many, many more. He's got a very wide range of voices and deserves to be in the top twenty because of that. Heck, he deserves to be in the top ten. Much more so than voice actors who use the same voice over and over again, like James Earl Jones and Morgan Freeman (both of which are great actors might I add).

18 Rodger Bumpass

Anyone who voices one or more of the ten main characters of SBSP Spongebob, Patrick, Squidward, Mr.Krabs, Sandy, Plankton, Gary, Karen, Mrs.Puff, and Pearl can easily qualify on this list and he does both Squidward and Professer Membraine from Invader Zim

His range and comic timing is incredible.

19 Rick Jones

He's Maurizio and Bubonic from 'Wunschpunsch', Zephir from 'Babar', Rotten Ralph, Speedy Cerviche from 'Samurai Pizza Cats' and Gwizdo and Hector from 'Dragon Hunters'. Jones has unbelievable range and talent.

20 Richard Steven Horvitz

He's awesome! He did the voice of Invader Zim and Billy from Billy and Mandy

21 Robin Williams Robin McLaurin Williams was an American actor and comedian. Starting as a stand-up comedian in San Francisco and Los Angeles in the mid-1970s, he is credited with leading San Francisco's comedy renaissance. He died in 2014.

An undisputed master. Could grip you with any performance from Aladdin's The Genie to Good Will Hunting's Sean Maguire. His spontaneous humour and grounded take on acting have landed him as one, if not the greatest, voice actor in history.

All you guys sad he's dead. He ain't dead. He's just waiting for us to roll a 5 or 8.

If I would have met him, I'd bet that I would never have a friend like him!

22 Trey Parker Randolph Severn "Trey" Parker III is an American animator, director, producer, screenwriter, actor, and composer.
23 Rob Paulsen Robert Fredrick Paulsen III is an American voice actor and singer who has done many voice roles in various films, television shows, and video games.

Name any notable cartoon franchise from the 80s and 90s... This guy has been part of it. GI joe, transformers, tmnt(both 80s and current series), pinky and the brain, animaniacs, ghostbusters, tailspin, land before time- Jesus, just visit his imdb page and take a trip down nostalgia blvd! There is a reason Disney, wb, and so many other production companies have rob paulsens number on speed dial. He deserves to be in the top 10 for sure!

He voiced Yakko Warner (Animaniacs), Otto Scratchansniff (also from Animaniacs), Carl Wheezer (Jimmy Nuetron), Pinky (Pinky and the Brain), and even the infamous Spongebob Squarepants rip-off character Coconut Fred from the hated
rip-off Coconut and his Fruit Salad Island. To say how much it was a rip-off and how much Rob Paulsen disliked the show, he even admitted that the show was just "a shameless Spongebob rip-off".

24 Don Messick

He is often remembered in DuckTales (as Scrooge McDuck's dad), Bonkers (as the mayor of Toontown) and a few more including Pound Puppies, Stair Fairies, ABC Weekend Specials (alongside Melissa Joan Hart) and Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue (as Papa Smurf who discovered that Michael had secretly stolen Corey's piggy bank from her bedroom and finds out that he is doing drugs). Great voice actor. Mr. Messick will be missed. by the way, I rented Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue for free at a local video store.

Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue won a primetime Emmy for best cartoon

Voices by Jason Marsden (as Michael), Don Messick (as Papa Smurf) and George C. Scott (as Smoke)

25 Mike Judge Michael Craig "Mike" Judge is an American actor, voice actor, animator, writer, producer, director, and musician.

Most of the people on this list (except Hank Azaria, Dan Castellaneta, Tom Kenny, Charlie Adler, E.G. Daily, and a few others) are just actors who did one voice acting role. Mike Judge is the voice behind Beavis, Butt-Head, Mr. Anderson, Buzzcut, McVicker, Van Driessen, the Burger World manager, the Maxi-Mart clerk, Stewart's dad, and stacks of one-off characters on Beavis and Butt-Head. He's also a genius enough to voice Hank Hill on King of the Hill and Gerald Goode on The Goode Family. What a legend!

Not only does he do hank he also does Boomhauer and almost all of the assorted voices on all his shows (small lines like a news anchor, or a cop "these boys arnt drunk they're just stupid! " "huh huh, were wasted dude.")
