Top Ten Most Tragic Toho Kaiju"Monsters are tragic beings, They are born too tall, too strong, too heavy, they're not evil by choice, that's their tragedy".- Ishiro Honda, Director of 8 of the original godzilla movies as well as many other kaiju and scifi films, 24 in total.
The Top Ten Most Tragic Toho Kaiju
Heisei Era 1984-95.
In this era, the movies are very strongly connected and this version of the big G has one hell of a decade.
-Constantly bombarded with Japanese military attacks and new state of the art machines like the Super X 1,2, & 3, Mechagodzilla, Mecha King ghidorah, MOGURA, and the heat toxin from Godzilla vs Biollante
-Constantly has to fight other kaiju
-pretty much dies from cadmium missiles in "Godzilla 84"
- Gets paralyzed from Mechagodzilla in "Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla 2" (along with getting his ass kicked in the first part)
-Has his son tortured and kidnapped by Space Godzilla
-Has his son killed by destroyah in a handful of teary scenes in "Godzilla Vs Destroyah
-Eventually melts down /dies from the overload of radiation that has been collected in his body over the years, throughout the entire film (Godzilla vs Destroyah), he has to be in some form of pain
All that and more happened to the same creature, and this version is basically ...more - RustyNail
- he lived for only 3 years,
-he was born in an unfamiliar place and got attached to a human, who eventually abandd him in a teary goodbye
-He witnessed his dad get hurt multiple times
-his half brother died (Rodan)
He got tortured/ captured by space godzilla,
-He gets a virus in him after Crab-Form Destroyah attacks him
-He Gets dropped and killed by Form 3 Destroyah
What a horrible life - RustyNail
She dies so many times and gets the crap kicked out of her very easily. I honestly think she has died more than any other kaiju in the toho films. Look at the "Rebirth of Mothra trilogy", She constantly gets her ass kicked and dies in more emotional ways and scenes than most modern movies do, and it's a damn puppet. Pluss the larva form Mothra always is in a life or death situation immediately after birth, and sometimes witnesses their mother get killed. - RustyNail
A bit of an odd choice, but in his only film "Terror of Mechagodzilla", he was once a peaceful dinosaur that lived at he ocean floor before Dr. Mafune found him. The Dr. took control of him and turned him bad. He also gets hurt in vicouis ways and of course dies. - RustyNail
The skeleton and soul of the original Godzilla is trapped in Kiryu, in which makes it a living being that doesn't want to fight. Its simply trapped in the machine. The spirit does become unleashed a few times though. I guess we actually did get "Godzilla vs Ghost Godzilla" after all. - RustyNail
An abomination against nature of a hybrid of Godzilla, a rose plant, and a dead daughter of the scientist who created this creature. I mean just let your daughter rest in peace, now she is in pain. Godzilla burns her alive, and plenty of monster gore happens here. - RustyNail
Rip angu's mouth 1955 - 1974 - XtheXlmao
I think he is also one of the bravest of the monsters, he knows he will be beat but goes on anyway. - Stalin
He is basically cannon folder, He never wins and he is beaten to a bloody pulp half the time. I mean he gets his jaw ripped open in one film for god(zillas) sake. He also tends to always need help and plays sidekick to Godzilla. - RustyNail
Also it didn't get ripped in half, it got broken and most likely dislocated. - Stalin
In his only appearnce in the Heisei era, he is just cannon folder, Godzilla damn near murders him in the first 15 minutes of the movie. Even once he gets a new power and becomes 'Fire Rodan', that doesn't do anything and Mechagodzilla simply destroys him. He starts internally bleeding and bleeding from his mouth. He then uses his life energy to save the resently dead godzilla, in which he just dissapears. - RustyNail
I mean in his only move appearance (other than that cameo in Planet of monsters) the Alien ship wakes up after eions and gets killed by godzilla a day later. he's only in his monster form for like 5 minutes before godzilla blows him up. - RustyNail
Not a Toho Kaiju - RustyNail
The robot may be the vocal point of Godzilla vs Megalon, but he constantly needs godzilla's help, gets double teamed and almost decapated. - RustyNail
Not a Toho Kaiju - RustyNail
