Top Ten Best Trap (Hip Hop) Songs
With this list I mean the hip hop genre, not the electronica genre of the same name.
Fler made Trap big in Germany, as a counterculture to the style that Kollegah established (epic overproduced orchestral beats, multisyllabic rhyming, over the top gangsta image, doubletime flow, constant double entendres,...). He felt that since Kollegah appeared, people cared only for the lyrics anymore, while not paying attention to musicality and authenticity in hip hop. Fler is not a lyrical genius, but he's all about the feeling, and he managed to perfectly deliver that. I love Kollegah and the style he established, but damn, Fler's new albums are extremely gripping. You feel the passion he is rapping with. This guy has been around since the early 2000s, but back then made average thug rap and never was as hugely successful as his frienemy Bushido. But when I first heard the 2016 album "Vibe" - a project he put very much heart and soul in - I knew this was going to be the next big thing. Yes, I included it, because it's ' addictive. And by the way if you've seen one video by KuchenTV or JuliensBlog... then this one line will appear completely unmemorable to you. Such jokes are made in every second sentence.
DatAdam are never seen as Trap, they are kind of a genre of their own, so I put this in last place, but nevertheless the song has a very strong trap resemblance.
