I've seen Avatar characters on multiple lists for things like "strongest anime characters" and whatnot. I find it sad.

It does take inspiration from anime, but its an american cartoon. I mean, this show is even on the Best Anime list!

American cartoon, but its lower because not many people think this is an anime.

It looks like anime, but in reality CN made it to cash in on the success of Avatar the Last Airbender.

Nobody thinks this is an anime. Great show though.
