Ugliest Vertebrate Land Animals

A sequel to my rather popular list of the ugliest underwater creatures. For the sake of making this list balanced, no invertebrae are going to be added. Hopefully. Also, flying creatures such as birds and bats are allowed.
The Top Ten
1 Naked Mole Rat The naked mole-rat, also known as the sand puppy, is a burrowing rodent native to parts of East Africa. It is closely related to the blesmols and is the only species in the genus Heterocephalus of the family Heterocephalidae.

Look at it. It's hideous. It's hairless and even worse in person.

2 Vampire Bat

I do not hate creatures of the sky, but some are just hideous.

3 Potoo

This bird is the spawn of nightmares. It looks like someone took a sparrow, added a frog, and didn't feed the weird amalgamation for a week.

4 Proboscis Monkey The proboscis monkey or long-nosed monkey, known as the bekantan in Indonesia, is a reddish-brown arboreal Old World monkey with an unusually large nose. It is endemic to the southeast Asian island of Borneo.

The males have huge noses. Apparently the females find it attractive somehow.

How ungrateful to his wonderful monkey.

5 Mole The star-nosed mole is a small mole found in wet low areas in the northern parts of North America. It is the only member of the tribe Condylurini and the genus Condylura.
6 Turkey Vulture

Ouch. You stepped on a corn. I love vultures. The turkey vulture is an elegant bird. I always enjoy seeing them gliding in the sky, or as a rare treat, perched in trees near my house.

I've seen it in person. It's ugly. The head looks shriveled and dried like packaged fruit.

7 California Condor

Ouch. You stepped on a 2nd corn. Larger cousin of turkey vulture.

The head. Just the head. That's all that's ugly here.

8 Gharial

Ouch. You stepped on a 3rd corn. The gharial is the most elegant crocodilian. I've always loved them.

A crocodilian with a long, slender snout.

9 Giant Leaf-Tailed Gecko

Google it. That stare with those awful-looking eyes.

10 Warthog

Even the NAME screams ugliness, and it's not wrong.

Actually, it's quite fancy-looking for a pig.

12 Babirusa

It looks unattractive to look at in my opinion.

13 Mouse A mouse is a small rodent characteristically having a pointed snout, small rounded ears, a body-length scaly tail and a high breeding rate. The best known mouse species is the common house mouse. It is also a popular pet.
