A Death Metal band
Mayhem is a Norwegian black metal band formed in 1984 in Oslo, regarded as one of the pioneers of the Norwegian black metal scene. The band is also known for the infamous events surrounding them including the 1991 suicide of vocalist Dead (in which former guitarist Euronymous took pictures of Dead's corpse and used one of them as the front cover for one of their live albums) and the 1993 murder of Euronymous by former member Varg Vikernes, of Burzum. I'm surprised this is on the list. I mean, when you think of Black Metal, Mayhem is one of the first bands you'll think of generally, mostly because one guy in the band killing himself and another one getting murdered.
I'm surprised Metallica's not on this list lol, they always seem to make their way into lists they don't belong in
Blackened melodic death metal
Infernal War is a Polish black metal band formed in Częstochowa in 1997. The band is known for their extreme anti-christian and WWII lyrics, leading them to be mislabeled as a NSBM band. Critics describe the band as "brutal black metal." An extreme metal band from Poland. Reviewers call their genre "brutal black metal". No matter how you call it, I totally agree with a guy who wrote a comment on YouTube: "What weapon did they use for the drums, an ak-47? M4? Minigun? "

I'm friends with their drummer. The are a female fronted Blackened Death Metal band. If you like Blasphemy or Behemoth you'll like them. They just released their first album a month ago

Satyricon is a Norwegian black metal band formed in Oslo, Norway in 1991 by vocalist Satyr and drummer Frost. The band's first three albums typify the Norwegian black metal style. Since their fourth album in 1999, the band has moved towards a more traditional heavy metal style.
Whispered is a melodic death metal band that combines musical elements of Finnish and Japanese culture, being formed in Finland in the year of 2004. Whispered draws inspiration from traditional Japanese battles. Definitely one of my favourite metal bands, the Japanese style to them extreme metal (CoB like) just fits so good, Strike and Kappa are definitely my song picks for this awesome band! Keep up the awesome work.
