Punk rock is a subgenre of rock music. It usually has rebellious lyrics and down stroked power chords played on guitars. Bad Religion, Sex Pistols, and Green Day (actually pop-punk, which is still punk in a way) are a few punk rock bands. The subgenre influenced thrash metal because of it's down stroked guitar playing and other factors.Sovietwave is so underrated! Its music that has emerged from previously soviet states that is made to evoke nostalgia for the USSR. I'm not even soviet, nor was I born during the soviet union, but the nostalgia still very much impacts me. For those of you who are American, its REALLY hard to find. You have to search long and hard, even learn some Russian. But once you do find the great artists of the genre, you won't regret. I guarantee you that it is well worth the trouble.
