Top 10 Underrated '00s Albums by a Female Singer
If we had only known what was to come when this album was for still sale... WOW!
Don't let Jackie's age (9) when this was recorded & released fool you. On this album, she sang about child abuse, murder, suicide, life after death, romantic love & God - among other things. She wasn't singing "Mary Had a Little Lamb" or "Whip My Hair." Her prodigious talent is absolutely astonishing, & this early album showcases it.
Who could have known or even guessed what was coming at us from this petite 9 year old prodigy? She is an earthquake, a tsunami, a hurricane that is going to wipe away the old order... Get ready, world - there's a new kid in town... And she's playing for keeps!
Recorded when Jackie was 9, this album foreshadows her subsequent, truly remarkable, career. Prelude to a Dream indeed; it has to be one of the most prescient album titles ever.
I love this album so much. It didn't receive recognition it deserved. "Forever" is one of the most beautiful songs in Sandra's career.
Very unique Alternative Rock/Baroque Pop album with impressive concept
This album didn't deserve negative reviews. It's a decent record. "Brave", "Mile in These Shoes", "Stay Together", "Stay Together", "Hold It Don't Drop It" are cool songs
Despite criticism, it was/is one of the most emotional and touching Madonna albums. Not to mention personal. I like it
Love this album and songs
Really decent comeback album no matter what
Not her best album but still decent and fun to listen
So many great songs on this one! Did it again and Spy
Toni didn't have time to promote it because she was pregnant. Too bad, the album is great. "Hit the Freeway" is my favorite track
Yes I agree far more underrated than any artist on this list. Not many know who she is and that is kind of good really! It's also what is considered underrated. She's not overplayed and a wonderful pleasant secret to most who hear a voice so fresh and different. Smooth and she knows how to use her voice so wonderfully in the music she creates. Not without thought and creativity and "run of the mill" cookie cutter, so to speak.
How can someone so smooth and wonderful to the ears go so unnoticed? Her music and voice are just so relaxing and pleasing.
Those of us who have found her will keep her to ourselves and know it's special. Selfish aren't I. LOL
Meaning that she is not cookie cutter or Run of the Mill in any way.
My favorite Bjork album from the 2000's
I don't get its criticism. The album sounds fresh
