At the time of its release, Blackout was divisive (to say the least). While it has retroactively received much more praise and acclaim than it did upon its arrival, this album should be regarded as a classic. Blackout, in addition to Nadia Oh's Hot Like Wow and Lady Gaga's The Fame, has an influence on pop music that has been monumental, and with a near-perfect tracklist (which would be better if we could switch "Hot As Ice" with the stellar bonus track "Get Back"), glitchy warped instrumentals, and vocal production that was groundbreaking for a pop album at the time, Blackout deserves more love.

The highlight of the album would probably be the three-song run of "Heaven On Earth", "Get Naked (I Got A Plan", and "Freakshow". While the songs all flow naturally, they don't run together at all. "Heaven On Earth" is a blast of icy euphoria. "Get Naked" is easily one of the creepiest things Britney has recorded (since "Mona Lisa" at least), with both her and Danja's vocals sometimes ...more
