Most Underrated Animated Dreamworks Movies

The Top Ten
1 Rise of the Guardians

This was actually a very good movie, yet most people dismiss it, or don't recognise it. Granted, the music wasn't the most memorable, but it was beautiful and it matched. I wouldn't say there should be a Jelsa movie, as much as a Pelsa movie though... King and Queen sounds better than Joker and Queen. Really though, Pitch is a great villain and Rise of the Guardians had so much potential. The ending may not be the best, but that animation is brilliant and though the jokes are at someone else's expense, they are still pretty funny.

This movie was by far the most beautiful and most amazing movie by Dreamworks animation! The characters were perfect and the story makes you cry! That's what a good movie should do... movies like Frozen are getting too much credit! And if there is a Jelsa movie, just know that many MANY Jack Frost lovers will be absolutely crushed along with their fanfics! ;(

I sort of wish there was a Pelsa movie (which would require Disney's cooperation too), but I just think that this movie really was better than some say it was, even with its weaknesses.

This was a brilliant film and deserves a sequel

2 Bee Movie

This really deserves to be higher up the list as it is hilariously funny and I laughed at every single bee related pun (and there was a lot) since they were clever every time. Barry's relationship with Vanessa was quite creepy alright but the movie was still heart warming and shows you that how sometimes the things you want aren't necessarily what you need. It showed us we should not be greedy but also to fulfil your dreams and don't just go with the status quo, follow your dreams. I really enjoyed this film and still really enjoy it now.

This movie was disappointing for me... OK, let me tell you why! Almost all jokes were horrible, except some! Story was not so interesting! Many scenes were boring! But, I'm not saying it's bad!

To bee honest... I think it should be higher than Home and Shark Tale. Although some of the jokes are a bit dated (Like an Enron pun), it's still an epic movie all around.

Honestly not bad. You can't hate on Jerry Seinfeld.

I watched this a lot! It's an underrated masterpiece! So amazing! One of my favourite DreamWorks films and I don't usually watch DreamWorks but this tugged at my heart strings! It's awesome! Totally deserves more credit and praise than it gets! Watch it! You won't regret it. It is hilarious and emotional.

It shouldn't have been underrated! However, I LOVE this movie very much! Because it is a very nice and neat movie! Dreamworks gave us a MASTERPIECE!

Very funny movie! I'm feeling so sorry for this film for being underrated!

While nothing special, I thought it was a decent flick.

4 Turbo

So unique! Really heartwarming story

This was great!

5 The Boss Baby

It's pretty underrated. The animation is nice, the storyline is cute, and I genuinely enjoyed it.

This is REAL underrated dreamworks. Over the hedge is overrated

6 Madagascar

Very underrated. Not sure why it gets so much hate.

Very underrated! My rating is 85%!

7 The Prince of Egypt

One of the most complex and emotional Dreamworks films. Objectively it really is amazing

It has always been overly ridiculous for people to not love the desert atmospheres.

This was a really good movie. I wish people gave it more credit...

The music is so beautiful it tuge at my heartstrings every time!

8 Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron

This really deserves to be higher up the list as it is hilariously funny and I laughed at every single bee related pun (and there was a lot) since they were clever every time. Barry's relationship with Vanessa was quite creepy alright but the movie was still heart warming and shows you that how sometimes the things you want aren't necessarily what you need. It showed us we should not be greedy but also to fulfil your dreams and don't just go with the status quo, follow your dreams. I really enjoyed this film and still really enjoy it now.

Why is this not a bigger deal?!?!? Spirit is the most underrated animated movie period. The movie about the struggle for freedom and the bond of family and love. Horses have been dismissed as props in all movies never do we actually get to understand that these beautiful creatures have to have their spirits broken to become slaves. The soundtrack of this movie is the most moving amazingly well thought out work of art. The message here is never lose your spirit. Never give up.

This movie gets a lot of flack but I love it, there's something compelling about the odyssey like journey that Barry partakes. From Leaving the hive to falling in love to realizing his people (the bees) are beeing taken advantage of. It has a weak direction if you look at it that way, but then you realize the real story is about Barry, and him Coming out of his cage and doing just fine.

Amazing film

9 Megamind

This has got to be the most underrated animated movie of all time.

9?!?! It should be at least in the top 3.

A Genuine Surprise!

10 The Road to el Dorado

It was a quite enjoyable film. Too bad it completely bombed at the box office.

The Contenders
11 Over the Hedge

This movie is hilarious.

Such a great movie

12 Shark Tale

I can see why people don't like this film but I think it has some really funny moments.

Though this movie wasn't amazing it was a really clever and funny one probrably DREAMWORKS most juvinile movie and it did really successful even beat Sherk 1!

13 Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas

Had everything it needed for a Sinbad adventure.

14 Chicken Run
15 Flushed Away

Really funny movie, and little toilet jokes.

16 Shrek Forever After

The REAL third Shrek movie. That abomination of cinema that calls itself Shrek the Third, on the other hand, feels somehow even less canon than the fourth Indiana Jones movie and the last two Star Wars episodes combined.

Most underrated entry in the entire Shrek saga. Shrek the Third, however, was even more of a boring, irritating slog to sit through than Seasons 4 and 5 of SpongeBob (though still more watchable than Seasons 6-8 of the show).

Wouldn't consider it "underrated" anymore due to the many people suddenly starting to love it and constantly ranking it above Shrek the Third

17 Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit

Wallace & Gromit rocks!

18 Trolls

Take it off. It was a fabulous film.

Overrated, not underrated

This is a really good film.

19 Shrek the Third

Maybe it's not as innovative or complex as Shrek 2, but it's still an incredible movie, and a great conclusion to the Shrek franchise, with how Shrek gets kids, and the Far Far Away plot comes to an end, and we get to dig deeper into Prince Charming, my favourite villain of the bunch. Shrek Forever After is the movie deserving of hate In my opinion

This movie does not deserve the scorn it receives, this is much better than Forever After

Shrek The Third is so underrated, almost everone I've met hates this movie.

20 Kung Fu Panda 2

Definitely not underrated seeing as it's the most acclaimed of the trilogy

21 Shrek: The Whole Story

While it made a lot of money, it seems to be overlooked because of how bad the third movie was.

22 Mr. Peabody & Sherman

The most underrated film out there. They should make a sequel!

23 Monsters vs. Aliens

A hilarious movie. It's no cinematic masterpiece, but it's still pretty good.

24 Penguins of Madagascar

While it's not as good as the Madagascar movies, it was very enjoyable.

25 Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie

Very underrated. A sweet storyline with funny characters and amazing animation.

Rewatching it, it was not very good. George's voice was annoying and many of the jokes were not funny.

I like it a lot, but after rewatching it I like it somewhat less, but still a great movie

Very funny movie
