Top 10 Most Underrated Disney Movies of the 21st Century

These are Disney movies that don’t get as much praise as they should.
The Top Ten
1 The Emperor's New Groove

Based on The Emperor's New Clothes.

2 Bolt

A movie about a dog who thinks he’s a super dog despite only pretending to be one in a T.V. show. He later finds out that he’s not a super dog and ends up accepting it. Kind of sounds a little like Toy Story. Except there, Buzz Lightyear thought he was a real space ranger despite just being a toy. I watched Bolt for the first time when I was a kid and I really loved it. Not a lot of people seem to remember it, though. I ended up really loving the characters. Especially Rhino the hamster. I also like the human character named Penny. This is probably the only tolerable thing Miley Cyrus has ever done. Everything else she has done was terrible beyond belief! Even her very little speaking cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was stupid! Bolt is an absolutely great and adorable movie.

3 Brother Bear

I really love the thing about this movie it makes me want to cry...it's about a two brothers and for loving each other! you know love is true so this is a good way to be on number 1 and I'm so happy

I can tell you right now that Brother Bear is objectively better than Hercules! This is one of Disney’s most hated animated movies. I thought it was pretty good for what it is. It has a pretty stupid concept, but they managed to have fun with that concept and tried to make it as enjoyable as they can. I actually loved seeing Kenai hang out with Koda as if they’re brothers. It was pretty cute. I also really like the animation. There is quite a lot of beautiful animation. My main problem with the film though is the Phil Collins soundtrack. I like Phil Collins, but his music is so out of place here. There’s one scene when Kenai is explaining to Koda about something important and it gets ruined by a Phil Collins song playing over it! It was just so stupid! It didn’t ruin the movie for me, but it would’ve been better without Phil Collins. He did an excellent job in Tarzan, though.

I hate this film!

4 The Princess and the Frog

Princess and the Frog was the second to last 2D animated film to be made by Disney. Maybe it’s a good thing that John Lasseter might be leaving the company for good. Maybe then we’ll get 2D animated films back. I feel like he overreacted to how poorly Princess and the Frog and Winnie the Pooh did. They did poorly because of their release dates! Princess and the Frog came out the same month as Avatar and Winnie the Pooh came out the same weekend as the last Harry Potter movie! In fact, Winnie the Pooh was the last 2D animated film to be released theatrically until that terrible Sponge Out of Water movie and that mediocre My Little Pony movie! Anyway, I got completely off topic here. Princess and the Frog is a great movie. It’s rare to see hard working princesses. She doesn’t even need a man to save her life. She ends up saving his life a bunch of times. The songs are pretty great, the characters are really great, and Facilier was the last great Disney villain. I enjoy this ...more

(gasping),What is the Meaning of this Mounsier? You shall hear from my sitcom!

5 Meet the Robinsons

Agree, I hate people who don't like it. This movie is heartwarming, has a good lesson and good CGI and voice talents. It probably lost in 2007 since unlike the other animated movies of the year (including Pixar's Ratatouille) The main character isn't an animal.

I was surprised to hear that people hate this movie. I think it’s pretty great. I’ll admit it does have a weak story, but I love the way it deals with Family. This futuristic city that they go to looks visually impressive. I really love all of the characters. They are all so funny. After it came out, people seemed to have forgotten about. No one really talks about it that much. And some of the people who do talk about it usually say it was a bad movie. I personally don’t think it is. It’s very entertaining and funny overall. The dinosaur scene I still think is really cool. I also thought the ending was pretty emotional. It definitely is a great movie. I loved it as a kid and I love it now.

Every single movie on here is better than that piece of crap Lilo and Stitch, especially this masterpiece.

I didn't know people hated this a lot, I kind of liked it!

6 Iron Man 3

Iron Man 3 is claimed to be the worst movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Along with Thor: The Dark World. In my opinion, Iron Man 3 doesn’t deserve the hate it gets. It’s far better than Iron Man 2. The best part of that movie was Tony Stark sitting in a giant donut. Literally the only good thing about that movie. Iron Man 3 definitely has flaws too. I really hated the Mandarin twist! I was so excited to see the Mandarin in a Marvel film, and they ruined him! There are other things I have problems with, but I still like it. It’s great seeing how Tony Stark is able to take care himself without relying on his suit. There’s a lot of great action and some pretty funny jokes. They don’t try to force in as many jokes as possible like in Thor: Ragnarok or Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 or Doctor Strange. The humor comes at the right time and ends up being funny. Except for the Mandarin twist. That sucked! Iron Man 3 isn’t perfect, but it’s a good time.

7 Monsters, Inc.

How is this underrated?!

8 Chicken Little

I don't get why people hate it.

9 Recess: School's Out
10 Atlantis: The Lost Empire

In what cringe cancer universe is Chicken Little more underrated than Atlantis?

The Contenders
11 Eight Below

Arguably an even sadder movie than The Fox and the Hound.

12 Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch

If you saw my list of Disney sequels you probably didn’t know existed, I said this was one of the few Disney sequels that I actually like. Which is weird since the director would later go on to direct the worst animated movie ever. At least Lilo and Stitch 2 is an actual movie. Not an overly long commercial. I always love watching Lilo and Stitch interacting with each other. They have a very cute relationship. It can be a little frustrating when they argue, though. Especially since they wouldn’t have to if Jumba had just told them what was going on! I almost shed a tear at the end. It was very emotional watching Lilo almost losing Stitch. They managed to make that more emotional than Li Shang’s fake-out death in Mulan 2. I like Lilo and Stitch 2. Not exactly sure why so many people hate it.

First of all, the Emoji Movie isn't the worst animated movie ever. That would be WTDGTD, which I refuse to actually spell out the name of. Second of all, this movie is god awful, it went from headache inducing to trying to be "sad" but inducing more headaches!

13 Treasure Planet
14 Sky High

Greatest anime movie of all time. Wish they could have made a sequel to it.

15 Queen of Katwe
16 Wall-E
17 The Good Dinosaur

This has gotta be Pixar’s second most hated film! Almost everyone claims it to be the second worst Pixar movie! While still claiming Cars 2 to be the worst. I agree with the Cars 2 thing, but I like the Good Dinosaur. My main reason for liking it is just the connection between Arlo and Spot. They do a great job at showing how much they care about each other without the use of dialogue. I really love the darker moments. Like when characters are in peril. The stakes are very high at times. The background scenery is amazing! It almost looks real! It’s too bad that the dinosaurs themselves don’t look too good. This is a pretty good film. It’s not one of Pixar’s best, though.

18 Big Hero 6

The only thing truly underrated about this movie is the fact that Disney has never yet bothered to transform Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios into a Big Hero 6 coaster.

Big Hero 6 is technically a Marvel movie. I know it was released by Walt Disney Animation but it’s still a Marvel movie. It’s based on a Marvel comic, it has a post credits scene, and Stan Lee makes a cameo. I love this movie. 5 teenagers and a healthcare robot become a superhero team and fight crime to avenge the death of Hiro’s brother. It’s an origin story. I didn’t really know what to expect before seeing the film. So I was really surprised. It was such a great movie. My favorite character is Gogo. She is awesome and very hot! If I had to choose a least favorite character, it would be Fred. I don’t hate him, but he can be a little annoying at times. It’s nice to hear T.J. Miller when he’s NOT an emoji! After seeing the movie, I was hoping we would get to see more of these characters later on. And I got my wish! There is a new Big Hero 6 cartoon on Disney ! And it SUCKS! I only watched the first episode and I already hate the show! The animation, the writing, ...more

19 Pete's Dragon

This is how you do a remake! Okay? The original Pete’s Dragon wasn’t great. It was very cheesy and definitely hasn’t aged well. So it was in need of a remake. Like the Jungle Book. And they ended up improving it. There are quite a lot of differences between the remake and the original. In fact, it feels like a completely different film. The only thing the two have in common is that their’s a boy named Pete and he has a dragon named Elliot. This is a more watchable movie than the original. It’s not a musical, it has a story that makes sense, and the characters aren’t complete idiots! You know why not a lot of people cared about seeing this movie? Because it’s not a remake of something most people love and are familiar with! People only want to see remakes of movies they love! Why? If you love a movie and think it still holds up, there’s no reason for it to be remade! This is why Jungle Book and Pete’s Dragon are the only good Disney remakes. They actually made changes ...more

20 Lilo & Stitch
21 Wreck-It Ralph

Ima make this short, but why are the top movies NOT EVEN FROM THE 21ST CENTURY?!? Just because of that, this masterpiece got pushed all the way down to the bottom. Just disgusting.

22 Home on the Range
23 Hercules (1997)

Which idiot added this?

24 Ratatouille
25 Frozen

Hmm I always feel the popularity of it's theme song > the movie itself.
