9 John Deacon John Deacon John Richard Deacon is a retired English musician, best known as the bass guitarist for the rock band Queen.

Deacy is the first I've seen on this list that's actually underrated, along with Alex Lifeson. Lifeson is a great guitarist that doesn't get as much credit that he deserves. Geddy Lee is pretty fairly rated as one of the best bassists of all time, Ringo Starr is somewhat overrated in my opinion as a drummer, though he is undoubtedly pretty influential (definitely not underrated though). Dave Mustaine is widely considered and KNOWN as the best guitarist in all of metal, he's not underrated. I'm pretty sure Metallica would even admit that in just pure guitar playing, Dave smokes them.

Underrated bassist of Queen.
