Underrated Heavy Metal Songs
One of my favourite Metallica songs, this song about shape-shifters is better than "Enter Sandman" in my humble opinion.
W.A.S.P appear to be a love them or hate them metal band, and the music has been somewhat overshadowed by their 80s stage antics. But they've got some great songs, especially this one. It's a true metal anthem.
Sounds more like Glam Metal version, but it's incredibly good song!
Wonderfully ridiculous German metal song. The lyrics get absurdly grotesque after a while and you can't help but smile while head-banging.
My favourite Megadeth song, strangely I appear to be on an island alone on this one.
It's no "Breaking the Law" or "You've Got Another Thing Comin'", but this is one of Priest's best.
An overlooked metal power ballad. It's almost as good as their two best-known songs.
One of my favourite modern Maiden songs, this is super catchy.
Amazing song!
Finnish monster metal Eurovision winner. It's cheesy, absurd, and the best thing to happen to the Eurovision Song Contest.
The less well-known, heavy metal all-star charity effort. Led by Ronnie James Dio and Vivian Campbell, this OTT 7 minute metal anthem features a 2 1/2 minute guitar solo, multiple guitarists, multiple singers (Dio and Halford among them), and even members of Spinal Tap.
The standout song from Motorhead's final album, Lemmy's vocals were never pristine and are pretty shot here, but...that's oddly right for Lemmy and Motorhead anyway. A rare metal ballad and quite a powerful one.
One Of my favorite songs Of All Time and hardly anyone knows about it!
Very underrated song, man, does Slipknot ever get attention?
