Some fantastic prog-metal epicness. Their best song since The Evil That Men Do all those years ago.V 1 Comment
I was looking at the best Iron Maiden Songs this song almost didn't even get a percent, same with Prowler and The Reincarnation Of Benjamin Breeg. They should put these songs on there own album with The Loneliness Of The Long Distance Runner and Stranger in a strange land.
This is a good song, brings you in, and launches you out nice and amazed. I would give this song a 14/10, and I mean it.
Used to be afraid to listen to this song cause it gave me the paranoid feeling of being watched, which is what made it a great song to blare while playing Assassin's Creed 3.
What an awesome ballad. The intro riff haunting.
It bothers me that this wasn't on the list. It's a fantastic song that remains a deep track for some reason. - Songsta41
It's so underrated even on this list its underrated - christangrant
Nothing like anything else on the album, people hear gangland and think the album is effectively over, then hear hallowed and forget everything else as its too good. But nested between the two is this really cool sounding song.
This song is amazing. Steve's only regret on The Beast was choosing Gangland over this showstopper. Wish it had made the cut for the early days tour. When Bruce comes down with "Gone are the days when man looked down" I get chills after all these years.
A gem that's forgotten because it's followed by one of Maiden's greatest songs.V 1 Comment
One of Maiden's best songs after Bruce and Adrian's return! Still not the most popular one.. Come on people. Listen to this! This is classic maiden.. Slow start and then the bass, leads and vocals just explode!
They say it's popular, but trust me, it's not. It needs more.
One of best Iron Maiden songs of all time.
This is so great song!
Indeed, it beats arcadia any day! The most underrated Maiden song, in my opinion.
It's just a great song though the fans don't think that the song is great it beats acadiaV 1 Comment
Best song from the best album since Dickinson and Smith came back.
Amazing song amazing guitar play amazing vocal play
Amazing soloes and a great unique sound, surprised that this so low.
Haven't heard anyone say that they like this song; at least not yet. It's a little repetitive just like The Angel and the Gambler, but definitely not as much; making this one an easier listen than the aforementioned song. At least give this song a chance, guys. Its WAY better than The Angel and the Gambler, since it doesn't sound the same for almost 10 minutes.
Wow great song! Little repetitive but not more than The Angel and the Gambler. That's the worst maiden song ever.
Yeah this song is never talked about by anybody, shamefully underrated. Big time!
Proof that it's the most underrated: it's at 95 on this list.
One of my favourite songs of all time and I believe it is severely underrated
Amazing song, hands down. Never hear anyone talk about this song, ever.V 1 Comment
Don't know what it is but I love this song, Maiden's attempt at a Power Ballard, and I think they pulled it off!
The musical structure of this song is phenomenal. In my opinion, this song deserves a spot in the top 10 iron maiden songs of all time. It also tells an epic tale. - JonnyGordon
Probably the most underrated maiden song ever it rocks!
Yeah this is another Steve Harris masterpiece! Epics for the win!
I know among maiden fans its popular but outside of that it's completely not talked about
