Most Underrated Metal Albums of the 90s

The Top Ten
1 Burnt Offerings - Iced Earth

Such a good album... Even if "Dante's Inferno" was the only good song (which it isn't by any means) this album still would be underrated.

2 Nightfall in Middle-Earth - Blind Guardian
3 Mental Vortex - Coroner
4 Handful of Rain - Savatage
5 Vain Glory Opera - Edguy
6 Never, Neverland - Annihilator
7 The Great Southern Trendkill - Pantera

This album is better than Far Beyond Driven yet not as many people like this album even though it includes the song Floods which has the greatest guitar solo ever

8 None So Vile - Cryptopsy
9 Sound of White Noise - Anthrax
10 Divine Intervention - Slayer
The Contenders
11 Persistence of Time - Anthrax
12 Somewhere Far Beyond - Blind Guardian

One of the best and more challenging Blind Guardian albums (1992). Sadly, most people know only The Bard's Song from this album - a great acoustic ballad but it's not a metal song in the strict sense.

13 Obscura - Gorguts
14 Load - Metallica
15 Jugulator - Judas Priest

@ Visitor wow so apprently having a opinion means I'm retarded but anyway you obviously know nothing about Tim Ripper Owens if he's a terrible person then how come he sang a song called "When the Eagle Cries" which is a tribute to those who died in 9/11 and while I will agree Halford is better than Owens, that doesn't mean Owens is a bad singer he used to be in a Judas Priest Cover band and his nickname is a Judas Priest song.

Such a great album only hated because Rob Halford is not on vocals even though Tim Ripper Owens is almost just as good as he is

16 Reload - Metallica
17 The X Factor - Iron Maiden
18 Fear of the Dark - Iron Maiden

It has some good tracks on it

19 Slaughter In the Vatican - Exhorder
20 Volume 8 - The Threat is Real - Anthrax
21 Dark Saga - Iced Earth
22 Images and Words - Dream Theater
23 Oceanborn - Nightwish
24 Metropolis Part 2: Scenes From a Memory - Dream Theater
25 Angels Fall First - Nightwish
