Iris wasn't that bad of a character. She had the most interesting premise of all the Pokegirls. She grew up surrounded by nature and then had to start her journey with a small dragon type. May and Dawn had famous parents, that is true. It doesn't seem to have affected Dawn much besides her goal. May wished she was closer with her father. Misty's biggest issue was teasing by her sisters. Serena lived a normal life until she decided to venture out into the real world.
Further more, the only constant complaint about her is her catchphrase. Can't you come up with anything else? As proven by the eighth gym battle of Unova, Iris does care about Ash, but like Misty she has a funny way of showing it. Unlike Misty she never physically slapped him. I know some people complain about her relationship with her Pokemon, but there aren't many good reasons to that.
She has shown nothing but love for Axew. I've seen no complaints about Emolga. Excadrill was a powerhouse, that is true, ...more
A character like Iris being chosen on Pokemon why the writers brought a new different character like her bring something different to the series damn other different girls. She's the only cover so far without a family and we don't know and no siblings and the family and she lives in the village enjoy the nature with other types of Pokemon.
Also just to let you know there's no such thing as factually overrated or underrated. They're more subjective terms. Whether they do deserve the praise or not is up to your opinion.
I like iris. Dragging is cool, and her rivalry between her and Georgia was great
He's the most underrated of the main characters so far, at least he's closer to the place he deserves unlike Brock and Jessie. I like Jessie, James, Brock, May and Cilan the most of the characters in the anime. But I don't judge underrated by order of favourite, I do in the order of getting ignored, misunderstood and/or the hateful attention they get. The Top 5 most underrated Pokemon characters are:
1. Tracey (ignored, often forgotten about)
2. Brock (similar to Tracy)
3. Jessie (painfully misunderstood)
4. Iris (similar to Jessie. doesn't make sense to me that she's so hated when Misty happens to be the most popular, they're very similar you know.)
5. Clemont and Bonnie (equally underrated, they're both ignored in favour of AshxSerena)

Why isn't she higher? She's even more underrated than James. How Jessie is this far down and popular characters like Ash, Misty, May and Dawn only proves Jessie is an underrated one. You people don't even understand the meaning of the term underrated if this list is anything to go by, just like so many people doesn't understand the meaning of underrated. This is proof enough.
Jessie is way better than Serena!
She is stronger, determined, and brave.
Also she has a better personality than Serena just because she is Team Rocket so she had to steal others Pokemon.
More underrated than most of those who's currently within 1-13, so Jessie is too far down on the list. The CD drama story should be part of the episodes, maybe then the younger fans would understand her more.
Jessie is actually a lot more underrated than James, just go and see for yourself.

Man, she is so overhated, so I check that list and according to that list Ash is more overhated than her. A really good character. She's a big sister to Bonnie, and really likes her Pokemon. She's hated for no real reason besides being girly or having a crush on Ash. She doesn't rely on him after a while, and begins a more independent career.
Serena sucks, iris was always the best, she's close to nature, she can make medicine, she understands dragon type pokemon, she's amazing. Iris is great. Serena is useless, she's too girly like seriously, there's nothing wrong with being girly, but serena overdone it
Serena for Alola may be an annoying trend on Twitter, but in this website, she's getting a lot of hate. She's honestly not even much of a bad character. It's just how Amourshipping ruined her.
