Most Underrated Subgenres in Rock and Metal

The Top Ten
1 Death n Roll
2 Crossover Thrash
3 Crust Punk
4 Stoner Rock
5 Folk Metal

Agalloch, Alestorm, Ensiferum, Finntroll, so many good bands.

6 Noise Rock

Big Black, Butthole Surfers, Sonic Youth etc.

7 Sludge Metal

Crowbar, Neurosis, Melvins etc.

8 Post-Rock
9 Industrial Rock

There are good bands in this genre but I actually think it's very overrated - M. Manson, Rammstein, NIN, and so on, are very well known. And people always add them to almost all metal lists I make, which annoys me because these aren't metal bands. It's Industrial Rock. Period.

From NIN to Strapping Young Lad to Fear Factory. There's some great bands in this subgenre.

10 Doom Metal

Candlemass, Saint Vitus, Funeral, Type O Negative (also a bit gothic too) and of course Black Sabbath.

The Contenders
11 Technical Thrash Metal

Coroner, Annihilator, Watchtower, and many more.
