Unified Theory isn't well known, but the band spawned from the ashes of Blind Melon. Brad Smith and Christopher Thorn, originally of Blind Melon, teamed up with Dave Krusen (formerly from Pearl Jam), and Chris Shinn, who went on to be Live's vocalist until Ed Kowalzcyk's return. The alternative band formed in Seattle.
