Top Ten Most Useless Buttons On Keyboards

This also includes buttons on electronic (on screen) keyboards, so if you don't see any of these on your keyboard its because of that.

What the heck is this?!?!?!? How does it help me?!?!?!? What does it mean?!? Everyone in favor of this being replaced by a division symbol like this comment.

This means section. If you're too lazy to type that word, just use this symbol. It had been neglected, but it's useful.

This is for fancy stuff. It's not useless.

Why this! Why keyboard creators! Why!

In case you don't know, this is not a period. It's a stupid floating dot. It looks like this between letters: b·h
It's a rip-off of a period and its useless except to sound out words, but even then people use dashes and parentheseis.

IT'S A BULLET POINT. It is very useful when making lists!

Um, is that a period or decimal point? because they're pretty useful.

Isn't that a multiplication sign?

Useless waste of electrons. Nobody uses this. It's a trade mark and many companies have this, but nobody wants to waste time using it. Nobody writes Disney like this: Disney™, or Listerine™ or Wal-Mart™. Complete waste.

4

In case you're wondering, I did not type 3 periods. It's actually a full-blown button dedicated to 3 periods pushed together. This is the most wasteful thing ever! I think its meant to help people, but its not. It would take me 2 seconds just to tap the period button three times, like this useless button. Whoever made this just ran out of ideas.

Isn't it grammatically correct to have four periods? Or have I being doing it wrong my whole life?

5 ¬

Once again, USELESS. What is it, the corner of a box? I have only seen this used once, and that was in a boring document. My only use of this would be to make one of those cute pixel art stuff people do with their computers, but I don't know how to do that.

This is not the letter 'L'. It's a stupid line that's somehow longer than other characters.
Here's how it looks like between letters: b|k
What does this stand for? What is its use? Great job at wasting time, money, and electricity to make this thing.

I think it's useful to separate or use as a bullet point.

7 Num Lock

Seriously? just don't touch it if you don't use the number pad. the guy who put this button must have a couple of cats and some little toddlers

What does this do?

8 Scroll Lock
9 Second Shift Button

Like Chromebooks. They have 2 shift keys instead of one, and they could use THAT for a Caps Lock button!

I need only one shift key (that NOW I'M USING).

10 x

Sorry if this offends anyone, but I need to put some letter on this list. It's rarely used, can double over as a multiplication sign, and I'm starting to hate those dumb homeworks that ask you "What is 36421379848689589 x 463? " Also, it looks kind of like a rip-off of the letter K.

What if you want to spell 'xylophone', 'Tyrannosaurus Rex' or somehing like that?

The Contenders
11 Caps Lock
12 ©

Again, NO ONE CARES IF A COMPANY IS COPYRIGHTED. (Or whatever it stands for.) If I'm writng down the name of a company, I'm not going to put The Hunger Games© or whatever it goes by.

LOTS of people care if a company is copyrighted!

13

The heck is this!?

14 ®

Another worthless thing. I won't waste a precious second to write something like Febreze®.

15 &

I hate it. Ugly and useful for only company names. Which is exactly why I want to change the '&' to 'and' in that sentence above those pictures on TheTopTens' home page. By the way, am I the only one who wants the '&' changed?

Blue. You're posting senselessly. This is not a useless symbol.

Hey man, where would we be without M&Ms & Mike&Ikes? Oh, & don't forget using it as a replacement for the word 'And'.

16 The windows key

Why can't I just click the start button?
