Best Versions of Chuck Berry's Run Rudolph Run

Christmas is almost upon us, and Christmas music has taken a foothold. This list is similar to one of Metal_Treasure's lists, comparing different versions of Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree, but I decided instead to look at my favorite rock and roll Christmas song: Run Rudolph Run by Chuck Berry. And just in case you're wondering, yes, I'm including the original. I think it's good enough to be along this list. If I missed your favorite version, don't worry. You can add it to the list.
The Top Ten
1 Run, Run, Rudolph - Foghat

I also like this song and many of its versions! Thanks for the mention!

This one rocks pretty hard. The guitar solo is awesome.

2 Run Rudolph Run - Dave Edmunds

This cover sounds the closest to the original. Dave did a good job of replicating it; the guitar tone even sounds similar.

3 Run Rudolph Run - Keith Richards

Keith decided to take this one at an easier pace than most people do.

4 Run Rudolph Run - Chuck Berry

I genuinely like all versions listed. Was very tempted to go with your personal first choice (which is a fantastic choice for #1 if we're talking covers), but I have to go with Chuck. For me, it really is the best version.

The original. It sounds a lot like the song "Little Queenie", even down to the introduction.

5 Run Run Rudolph - Grateful Dead

This version was recorded live at Madison Square Garden on December 7th, 1971. Pigpen takes the lead vocals.

6 Run Rudolph Run - The Reverend Horton Heat

It seems so strange to hear them cover a song as relatively innocent as this one, but then again, their big disciples were 50s rock and rollers.

7 Run Rudolph Run - The Brian Setzer Orchestra

This one has a lot of swing to it. Brian Setzer is no stranger to rock and roll, as most of his fans know.

8 Run Rudolph Run - Lemmy Kilmister, Billy F Gibbons & Dave Grohl

I think Lemmy's rough voice gives it a rock and roll edge that would otherwise be missing.

9 Run Rudolph Run - Bryan Adams

This version was recorded live. I don't really care for Bryan Adams, but it's a pretty solid cover.

10 Run Run Rudolph - Joe Perry

This version is more of a boogie-woogie than a straight rocker. It has a lot of horns on it.

The Contenders
11 Run Rudolph Run - Cheap Trick

With some pretty slick harmonica.
