While it is a game that never saw an international release, and thus is mostly unknown in the west, the soundtrack of this Japanese cult classic is nonetheless something that should be experienced by all video game music enthusiasts. This was neither the first nor the last work that Yoko Shimomura, composer of such titles as Street Fighter II, Super Mario RPG, and the Kingdom Hearts series, would work on, but it is in my opinion her best. As the game contains a variety of different chapters, all with their own theme and style, going so far as to take place hundreds, if not thousands of years apart, so too does the individual songs used in the different chapters have their own feel to them, ensuring that the player won't grow tired of the music any time soon.
