I can take a guess that it's supposed to be judged by today's standards? This was one of the first video game consoles. Cut it a little slack.

The graphics look ugly and unpolished, at least the DS graphics had charm!

Considering this was a current gen console with last gen hardware, several non-Nintendo games ran with abysmal graphics (compared to running them on Xbox One, PS4, and PC).
