Are you aware that Russia takes it's name from the Rus tribe of Norsemen who conquered part or all of what became Russia, Ruthenia and Belarus, lending their name to each? To this day, Russia and many of the former Soviet states exhibit the genetic influence of the Vikings, where can be found blonde, blue-eyed people, as well as Slavic people and admixtures of both.
