The Top Ten

1 Kindlifresser Fountain, Bern, Switzerland

This is LITERALLY a statue of some guy gulping down babies. Bizarre. - PositronWildhawk

I'm giving a speech about this to my class for a speech contest including a monument

Best of luck with that! Interesting that you should pick the Kindlifresser Fountain of all monuments. - PositronWildhawk

2 Manneken Pis Statue, Brussels, Belgium

It's a statue of a child peeing into a fountain. Enough said. - PositronWildhawk

Why would a baby urinating in a public square be one of the icons of Brussels anyways? Crazy Belgians. - ethanmeinster

3 S*** Fountain, Chicago, Illinois, USA

I live in Chicago, and whenever I go past this statue (which is not very often) I see tourists taking pictures of them licking the pile of dog poop.

It's a sculpture made to honour the neighbourhood dogs, but I think it's probably a reminder about something important for dog owners to renember. - PositronWildhawk

4 Coffin Runway, Savannah, Georgia, USA

These two coffins were buried at a farm in 1884 before an airport was built on it, and the coffins were marked on the runway. Odd thing to see. - PositronWildhawk

5 Turtle Fountain Statue, Worchester, Massachusetts, USA

It looks like a guy wrestling a turtle between his legs. - PositronWildhawk

6 Traffic Light Tree, London, UK

This is just around the corner from Canary Wharf, and it's confusing for any motorist. - PositronWildhawk

I quite like it. As I do everything this fantastic city. - Britgirl

7 Dead Horse Statue, Prague, Czech Republic

This is a statue of a Bohemian Saint sitting on an upside-down dead horse. I'm sure that's how he's remembered. - PositronWildhawk

So that's what that was! Thanks, Positron, I've been trying to figure that out for a few months. - PetSounds

8 Floraris Generica, Buenos Aires, Argentina

A metal flower that opens at dawn to become 34 feet wide and shuts at dusk, when it becomes 58 feet tall. Striking to look at, but strange. - PositronWildhawk

And most dawns it doesn't work! But well... At least it's something! Haha - keyson

9 Statue Of Poop On A Stick, Ponta Grossa, Brazil

This one is, well, weird. That is all. - PositronWildhawk

Well, this sure has a funny name. - Kiteretsunu

10 Love Land, Jeju Island, South Korea

Jeju Island is a popular spot for honeymoons in South Korea, and Love Land is a park full of statues of people copulating. Certainly complementary. - PositronWildhawk

You come with your wife as a newly wed couple and then see the copulating statues. Well, the sight would be worth seeing and certainly complementary as Pos. said. - Kiteretsunu

The Contenders

11 Gordon Bennett Statue, North Cray Road, Bexley, Kent, UK

So famous and weird
