To the visitor who wrote about the Rolling Stone Magazine list: This list is a joke! Bob Dylan is 7th in this list, and Freddie Mercury is 18th. IT IS A JOKE! You can't take it seriously, ok? Or do you think, that Bob Dylan (who can't sing) is better than the greatest singer of all time? Jim Morrison can't sing, everybody knows it, are you kidding me?
Elvis was good, love him, but Freddie's voice was much various, reached very high notes, had a great vibrato...
There is only one singer whose voice was examined by scientist: and this was Freddie Mercury.
The visitor, who extremely hates Freddie Mercury, and spreads his hating comments to every Freddie post: Freddie Mercury is the only rock singer, whose voice examined by scientists:
They found that the Mercury had an incredible physiological ability thanks to his larynx, Mercury could produce his famously mind-blowing notes. To better picture Mercury's uniquely powerful pipes, here are some numbers: The average vibrato varies from 5.4 Hz to 6.9 Hz, while Mercury's was 7.04 Hz (much faster, than p.ex. Pavarotti's). According to scientists, Mercury's unique vocal power is called subharmonics, "where not only the vocal folds vibrate but also a pair of tissue structures called ventricular folds, which are not normally used for speaking or classical singing." Also Pavarotti was a great Freddie Mercury fan, just google or watch youtube.
The visitor who thinks the only voice ever examined by a scientist is Freddie Mercury; is delusional. Many classical voices have been and will be examined by scientists, its very common. The joke is even trying to compare Freddie to the classical greats; he wouldn't be in the top 100, much less be ahead of Il Maestro.
If you see this topic in any other site and if number one is not Freddie, it is definitely some American bs. Most of Americans put their own musicians (like Elvis, MJ, Aretha Franklin or Sinatra) at number one, I am not saying they are bad, they are amazing too. But it is not even arguable. Number one is Freddie and always will be.
