Best The Wire CharactersWho's your favorite character in the 5-season long, critically acclaimed HBO series, The Wire? This list is just about that. There were no other lists dedicated to the Wire-heads, so this may be the first one.
The Top Ten
Ruthless in the game, not looking sideways at "taxpayers". All in the game meant killing and beating on people, and the streets of Baltimore rang with "Omar's coming" and the closing of doors before his arrival
The stick-up-boy that had his very own moral code. This man would not even smile weirdly at the regular taxpayer, but he would be the most ruthless thing ever captured on television when it came to cleaning up the streets of Baltimore. He had a lot of heart, and mostly attacked because of personal reasons. Nobody knew, everybody just wanted to get away from him, well, except his boyfriends. No one could be anywhere near the game and not know this man's name.
Jimmy is probably the actual main character of the whole show. He goes his own way and is, as credited in the show, natural police and a very proud man. Sometimes too proud to even properly see what's around him.
He was the best character and shouldn't of died of in the 3rd season in my opinion :'(
Bodie, one of the fan-favorites of the whole show. He never slipped, always kept his personal business aside the game and never even ed up a count. He was in the game since 13, and a loyal soldier though every sad, rainy step. He didn't care for reputation. He wanted to work, make money and bark the intruders away.
Reginald "Bubbles" Cousins. Or Bubs.
Just a gangsta, I suppose
The major player from the beginning. He was the king, and stayed the king... all things considered.
Made me cry during his "Y'all don't get it" speech.
Probably the most interesting one out of the lads and sad ending for him. Underrated character in season 4 & 5
The most ruthless man on the whole show. He did hurt mayn, many people and was very quiet and a major part in the later-shown Stanfield-organization. But, there was one scene where Chris actually lost his cool in a major way. Nobody ever gave Chris anything and there is only one scene where he shows some humanly emotion. I think everybody that saw the show know, what that scene was.
One corrupt bastard
Love that deep voice
