These are the worst of the worst, saddest excuse of black metal by far! Some of these are good stage performers, but their music is just awful TBH.

1 Cradle of Filth Cradle of Filth are a British extreme metal band that formed in Suffolk in 1991. The band's musical style evolved from black metal to a cleaner and more "produced" amalgam of gothic metal, symphonic black metal and other extreme metal styles.

The Lead Singer of Venom Said it best, Cradle of Filth is not black metal, They are called crap!

2 Mayhem Mayhem is a Norwegian black metal band formed in 1984 in Oslo, regarded as one of the pioneers of the Norwegian black metal scene. Burzum, Darkthrone, Gorgoroth, Immortal, Absurd, and Satanic Warmaster should not be on this list. This band sucks after Dead committed suicide, and basically became a bad meme band after Euronymous was taken down.

This band is the Cradle of Filth of black metal. They live on their past successes and the quality of their products shows it.

Personally I considerate this band one of the worst metal bands of all times

I used to like this band, but after dead died this band is pointless.

3 Absurd Absurd is a German pagan black metal band, and has been classified as a "right-wing extremist" group by the Thuringian Landesbehörde für Verfassungsschutz.

I am totally against any National Socialist Black Metal!

4 Burzum Burzum is an influential black metal solo project of Norwegian musician and writer Varg Vikernes. Burzum came to prominence at the beginning of the Norwegian Black Metal scene in the early 1990s. Vikernes was imprisoned for 21 years for the murder of Mayhem guitarist Euronymous, and charges of church arson. In prison, Burzum released 2 dark ambient albums recorded entirely on synthesizers. Burzum is still active to this day, but has never performed live.

Vary is a monster and his music is trash by association.

5 Gorgoroth Gorgoroth is a Norwegian black metal band based in Bergen. Formed in 1992 by Infernus, the band is named after the dead plateau of evil and darkness in the land of Mordor (a fictional location in J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings).
6 Dimmu Borgir Dimmu Borgir is a Norwegian symphonic black metal band from Oslo, Norway, formed in 1993. The name is derived from Dimmuborgir, a volcanic formation in Iceland, the name of which means "dark cities" or "dark castles/fortresses" in Icelandic, Faroese and Old Norse.

They only have two good songs, gateways and Progenies of the what what, they pale in comparison to most traditional BM bands, but are not badnin symphonic stuff, so leave em out of Traditional BM lists please - Nutty Nyc
