Imagine having your face taken apart and having teeth in weird places.

This could lead to a whole slew of problems down the line; gum erosion, tooth loss, even heart disease. Oral hygiene is important folks..

At 1 point, I had 3 impacted canine teeth and all 3 of them were treated with the expose and bond procedure.

Also, upper canines are more likely to become impacted than lower ones, though impaction of the lower canines does occur in rare cases and I'm living proof of it as both of my upper canines were impacted as well as my lower left canine.

I'm lucky that all of them came in within only 3 months after having the chain initially tied to my braces since it can take a year or longer for the canines to come in for a lot of people.

When I was younger, there simply wasn't enough room for my permanent teeth to erupt due to my small jaws, which meant I had to get 2 palatal expanders, 1 lower spring loaded expander, had 7 baby teeth extracted for orthodontic treatment, and I've had interproximal reduction to reduce the size of my teeth to correct my overbite and slight crowding after all those other things I've been through.

It's a rare condition where 2 teeth become interchanged in the same quadrant of the mouth. It most commonly involves the canine tooth and is more common in the upper arch than it is in the lower arch.

In my case, I have 1 set of interchanged teeth in the upper right quadrant (canine and 1st premolar) and another set in the lower left quadrant (canine and lateral incisor). In my case, my orthodontist is planning on reshaping the affected teeth while leaving them in their current positions.

I had a pretty bad overbite at one point, but now it's almost gone after 6 years and counting of orthodontic treatment.
