Top Ten Worst Detroit Lions Draft Picks of the 2010s

Oh man these guys were just so bad I remember them very well. Sit back as I dread these picks to this day.

The Top Ten

1 Eric Ebron (2014, RD 1, Pick 10) Eric Ebron is an American football tight end for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League.

This is gonna probably haunt me since the day I remember this vaguely. Eric Eborn was a guy who apparently was often compared to the likes of Jimmy Graham as this next great Tight End, and in his time in Detroit he had been inconsistent in my view. What's even worse is look at the other possibilities the Lions could of done instead. Still on the board at that point all pro tackle Taylor Lewan goes to the Titans, next pick Odell Beckham what did he do yeah his a bit of a hot head, but I'm not denying he has the talent to dominate in the league. Oh and the biggest could of been moment was Aaron Donald a generation type tackle in the middle so dominate, and so fast the Lions actually considered him, but didn't do it. Instead what the Lions could of done better the Rams executed it much better and got to the Super bowl with both Suh, and Donald man is that a sour taste for us Lions fans. Oh and that's not all here's Eric Eborn a backup to Jack Doyle who gets hurt most of the year he ...more - htoutlaws2012

2 Kyle Van Noy (2014, RD 2, Pick 40)

I could of put him at #1 in all honestly seeing he has since won two super bowls with New England, and has played like the guy I fought he could of been in Detroit. Lions had a chance to rebuild a defense that could of been like it was in 2014, but typical Lion fashion they decide to screw that up. Van Noy was a guy I liked immediately, but man did they pay a price just to get him. Eventually lions didn't know what to do with him, and sent him to the Patriots where he won their starting job, and has been an impactful player in Belichick's defense. - htoutlaws2012

3 Jahvid Best (2010, RD 1, Pick 30)

Jahvid Best by all mean is technically considered better than Abudllah in terms of potential that could been, but he was good for fewer than five games since the Lions offensive line was so bad in the early 2010's. Best was a victim of concussions, and quickly faded but for being a player selected late in the first round should of expected more just to give up picks to boot. - htoutlaws2012

4 Laken Tomlinson (2015, RD 1, Pick 28) Laken Tomlinson is an American football offensive guard for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League.

He could of been a long term guard for the Lions, but the traded down for him pretty as a waste since Bob Quinn gave him to 49ers like he wanted nothing to do with him. He ain't that much better in San Fran, but strangely enough they gave him a three year extension for his troubles. - htoutlaws2012

5 Titus Young (2011, RD 2, Pick 44)

LeShoure was not the only notable bust of an almost really awful 2011 draft class, and leading the way was Titus Young of Bosie St. He technically had a better career than many below him, but what puts him more higher on the list is because he was just not a good guy off the field. Once he was cut from the team he tried out for the Rams but Jeff Fisher got rid of him quickly due to forgetting his ID. Once getting off from the NFL he had much trouble with the law. Whether it was arrested for drunk driving, next he would go on a battery rampage in L.A. He was sentenced to jail in 4 years... however in December 19th of 2018 he got released fairly quickly from parole I highly doubt his a changed man with Bipolar disorder issues. - htoutlaws2012

6 Ryan Broyles (2012, RD 2, Pick 54)

He was a star at Oklahoma didn't transition well in the NFL, and he started off hurt to begin with which hurt the Lions risky looking pick to begin with. He had an okay first year, but the next two years he had trouble getting on the field and thus faded in 2015. He finished with 32 catches for 420 yards, and only two touchdowns in his career never living up to his hype with the sooners as a second round pick no less. - htoutlaws2012

7 Mikel LeShoure (2011, RD 2, Pick 57)

He was gonna be a backup to Jahvid Best, but ended up missing his entire rookie year season colliding with teammate at the time Cliff Avril. The next year he missed two games for suspension of substance absence (having a joint). His only highlight game came agaisn the Titans which they ended up losing, but in his defeat he had 26 carries for exactly 100 yards. He was never a consistent tail back, and eventually was released in 2014 not making the 53 man roster. - htoutlaws2012

8 Teez Tabor (2017, RD 2, Pick 53)

Teez had an okay size, but was terrible in coverage. He'd always get beat in his second year, and was not a day one starter definitely not one of Bob Quinn's brightest moves. While his still on the team I can't see the skills at all to improve. - htoutlaws2012

9 Ameer Abdullah (2015, RD 2, Pick 54) Ameer Abdullah is an American football running back for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League.

He showed great flashes early on, but eventually he didn't deliver to his pre season hype, and thus has been a player with fumble issues, and eventually got cut from the team in 2018. - htoutlaws2012

10 Nate Freese (2014, RD 7, Pick 229)

Yes it's a kicker, but during that season Lions were one of the worst in trying to win close games in this way. He faded very quickly, and eventually the Lions were fortunate enough to find Matt Prater long term. - htoutlaws2012
