Top 10 Worst Disney Animated SequelsMegaSoulhero Disney has had a bad reputation with sequels. So let's talk about the worst Disney animated sequels!
The Top Ten
This movie kind of sucked in my opinion. Basically, Mulan and Shang are assigned a mission to escort 3 princesses to a kingdom (I know the name, but I can't spell it) for an arranged marriage.
Then, the princesses fall in love with Ling, Yao, and Chien-Po. Mulan is glad to hear about this even though if the princesses did not go through the arranged marriage, China would be doomed! In the ending, the arranged marriage NEVER happened! And I agree with MegaSoulhero, that if the arranged marriage did not happen, we would all assume that China got destroyed!
In the first movie, Mulan cared about honor and her family. But in this sequel, she cared about love! There is not a single redeeming thing about it either - DJMarikaGirl006
This is one of the worst movies I've ever seen! No exaggeration! This movie is absolutely terrible! Mulan was such a great movie! So it really bothers me that the sequel is this bad! Every character in this movie is unlikeable! Especially Mushu! He loses his job as royal guardian because Mulan and Shang get engaged! So in order to keep his job, he tries to break them up! And to think I hated Ariel for being selfish! Also, Mulan is completely out of character in this movie! There are three princesses who are forced to get married but they fall in love with Yao, Ling, and Chien-Po! And Mulan is happy about this even though if the princesses don't go through with the arranged marriaged, China is doomed! Mulan did not care about love in the first movie! She cared mostly about family and honor! The arranged marriage never happened so we can all assume that China got destroyed! I hate this movie so much! There isn't a single redeeming thing about it! It is awful! It is terrible! I've only ...more - MegaSoulhero
Mulan II... A sequel that is one of the worst sequels ever. The original Mulan film was great, so I guess the creators thought it deserved a sequel. But, after seeing this... I felt disappointed.
So, Mulan and Shang get married. Mushu loses his job as a guardian and tries to break them up, so he can keep his "pedestal". Every character in this movie is horribly unlikeable. And I'm glad that Eddie Murphy did not play as Mushu in this movie, because I would've been disappointed.
And also, there are these 3 princesses who are forced to get married or else China is doomed. Now... Mulan cared about family and honor in the first movie. So, it's kind of weird about how they changed the subject. Plus, the arranged marriage never happened, because the princesses fell in love with Yao, Ling, and Chien Po. So, I could assume that China got destroyed or maybe even vandalized. Why did Disney have to go and ruin one of the best Disney films of all time?! Why?! - MangoFruitJuice
Mulan II... A sequel that sucks a$$. Mulan cares about love in this movie, but in the first one, she cared about family and honor. What I didn't really like about this movie was when Mushu tried to break-up Mulan and Shang, pretty selfish.
Basically, the creators made Mushu a jerk in this damn sequel. Disney really needs to get their crap together - Stazemar000
Hunchback of Notre Dame II. A sequel that ripped off an incredible Disney classic of all time, a sequel that should've never taken place, and worst of all... a sequel that I WAS DISAPPOINTED WITH AFTERWARDS!
Why did Disney have to go and ruin such an incredible classic?! Basically, the plot being that Quasimodo gets a girlfriend! I'm not very fond of her, but she's still a little more tolerable than the villain. Speaking of villain, SHE ACTUALLY WORKS FOR HIM IN THIS MOVIE! And all he wants to do is STEAL A BELL! He is definitely not a good replacement for Frollo!
Esmeralda and Phoebus have a son, but doesn't really add much to this movie. Speaking of Esmeralda, I know that some (or maybe a lot) feel sad that Quasimodo didn't win over Esmeralda's affection.
This movie also has a low budget, the animation is awful, and the songs are annoying. I loved the original film, but this one is terrible! - MangoFruitJuice
Hunchback of Notre Dame 2! A sequel that should have never happened! Why did Disney have to go and ruin such an awesome classic? In this movie, Quasimodo gets a girlfriend. But unfortunately, his girlfriend works for the villain! Kind of reminds me of another terrible Disney film! Also, the villain in this film is very uninteresting! All he wants to do is steal a bell! He is definitely not a good replacement for Frollo! Also, Esmeralda and Phoebus have a son now and he doesn't really add much to the film! And of course because of this movie's low budget, the animation is awful! I love Hunchback of Notre Dame but the sequel is terrible! - MegaSoulhero
I know that a lot of little kids probably felt really sad that Quasimodo didn't win over Esmeralda in the original. But that's not an excuse to ruin one of the most adult-like, realistic conclusions to any Disney movie ever! This is a side note, but it's kind of hard not to notice the animation differences between the two movies. The original is a gothic animated spectacle. The sequel looks like it belongs on a crappy Saturday morning cartoon. - phillysports
This movie is rather disappointing. The animation is poorly done. Quasimodo gets a girlfriend, and it really sucks she works for the bad guy who wants to steal a bell! Screw this sequel! - Stazemar000V 4 Comments
I find it VERY hard to believe that people actually like this movie! Why would ANYONE think it's a good idea to make Mater the main character? Sure he was kind of funny in the first movie, but no one wanted him to get his own movie! Mater is the Jar Jar Binks of this movie and John Lasseter is the George Lucas of Pixar! This seems more like fan fiction than a movie! A movie about cars who are spies? Seriously? I can't believe one of the best animation studios made something so unwatchably terrible! This movie straight up sucks! Cars 2 is definitely Pixar's worst movie! And they're making another sequel for some reason! Well at least it's taking more of a dark turn and it will be about Lightning McQueen. So hopefully it's better. - MegaSoulhero
I don't hate this movie, but I definitely don't like it. This is definitely the lowest point in Pixar's animated films. By the way, did you see the teaser trailer for Cars 3? It's actually pretty intense. There might be some hope for Cars 3 after all. - phillysports
Cars one was an amazing movie with a wonderful soundtrack, cars two was a joke of a movie with a mess of a plot and a boring theme. I saw a teaser for cars 3 and I have to say I am impressed it looks like it will be a good movie. - Rucas
Liked Cars. Fell asleep in the theater while watching Cars 2. Liked Cars 3.V 3 Comments
I loved the original Pocahontas movie. It had an emotional, but good ending to it. So, they should've let it be. But, no! The creators decide to make Journey to a New World. So, Pocahontas sails to England after hearing about John Smith's "death" and is mocked by most of the England citizens due to her appearance. Later in the film, we find out that John Smith did NOT actually die! Wow! Just wow! Also, Ratcliffe returns as the main antagonist and his design is horrible. What's up with his mouth?
This movie is a disgrace to the original Pocahontas film. There are songs in this movie, but I don't remember the names. In this movie, Pocahontas meets John Rolfe. They attend a hunt-ball under the suggestion of Ratcliffe, so Pocahontas is forced to act civilized or else the armada sails to her village and Virginia will be destroyed. The ending of this movie was disappointing, because Pocahontas and John Rolfe get married. I know they actually hooked up in reality, but I still don't ...more - MangoFruitJuice
The original Pocahontas movie had a rather good ending, so they should've just let it be. But, no! The creators just had to make Journey to a New World. Pocahontas goes to England after hearing about John Smith's supposed death. Later in the film, we find out he's NOT actually dead! So predictable!
Pocahontas meets John Rolfe. I understand they actually got married in reality, but I still don't like them being a couple. The songs in this movie are horrible as well (I don't remember the names) Ratcliffe also returns in this sequel and his design is just damn awful! This movie is a disgrace to the original movie, so they should've just left it alone.
In the first movie, Pocahontas cared about John Smith and her family. But, in the sequel, she and John Rolfe kissed as they were sailing back to Pocahontas' village, so we could all assume they hooked up and whatnot - DJMarikaGirl006
As much sad I hated the first Pocahontas movie, it had a pretty good ending. So they should've just left it alone. But they decided to make Journey to a New World! Pocahontas goes to England after hearing about John Smith's supposed death. We later find out he isn't dead! So predictable! She also meets John Rolfe! I know they actually did hook up in reality but I still don't really like them as a couple! There are songs in this movie but I don't remember any of them! Radcliffe also returns and his design is just awful! What's up with his mouth? This movie is worse than the original! And that's saying something since in the first movie, they had Pocahontas learn English from THE WIND! - MegaSoulhero
She chose john rolfe over john smith. they made john smith irritating in the sequelV 2 Comments
There's this scene where Belle is making derp-eyes, which makes me cringe. I watched the movie myself and it was rather disappointing. I did not like any of the segments. They were horrible. The animation is dull and boring. The original movie and the 2017 remake were better movies than this abomination.
This movie has no plot, whatsoever. Just like Cinderella II, the movie is divided up into 3 segments and it involves Belle planning an event. Like I said, I did not like any of the segments. They were terrible as hell. The characters are jerks (despite Belle being my favorite Disney princess), the animation is crap, and the songs are gay.
Enough said. - DJMarikaGirl006
That scene with Belle and her derp eyes really scares me! I would talk about the plot, but this movie barely has a plot! Just like Cinderella 2, the movie is made up of different segments! They are all terrible! The animation is the worst I've seen in a Disney film! I watched this movie expecting it to be so bad it's good! But it's not! It's just bad! I hope the Beauty and the Beast remake will be good! - MegaSoulhero
I've never heard of this - 1507563
Oh, my god. This sequel really sucked. Just like Cinderella II, there are three segments and I didn't like any of them. Each one involved Belle planning an event and Beast is the one getting angry over every little mistake. The animation is not very well written or drawn.
The segments have no plot at all. This is a huge step backward from the original film - MangoFruitJuice
I Only Put This On The List To Troll You Off - VideoGamefan5
This movie is awesome and you know it!
Not the worst but not as good as I expected it to be. To hell with this movie anyways. Incredibles 2 is where it's at now biatch - Mcgillacuddy
This movie is very good take it off the listV 2 Comments
This movie is worse than the original. Why? Because, Ariel and Eric have a kid named Melody. I don't like her, but she's still a little more tolerable than Ariel. Ursula has a sister named Morgana who was never brought up in the first movie, which I find stupid. She threatens to kill Melody if King Triton didn't let her have power.
So, in order to protect Melody from Morgana, they decide to take Donald Trump's advice and build a big wall around the castle to separate it from the ocean. Does that part ring a bell? Anyone?
Also, Ariel does not allow Melody to go into the sea, like in the original film, King Triton didn't allow Ariel to go into the real world. So, it's basically the same thing with both Ariel and her father
Ariel is horribly unlikeable. How come she never told her daughter why going into the ocean was risky?! Plus, Ariel does not understand the problems of Melody even though she herself had the same exact ones in the original movie! Pretty ...more - MangoFruitJuice
In the Little Mermaid 2, Ariel and Eric have a kid named Melody. I hate her! But she's still more tolerable than Ariel! Also, Ursula has a sister named Morgana who was never brought up in the first movie and threatens to kill Melody. In order to protect Melody from Morgana, they decide to take Donald Trump's advice and build a wall to separate the castle from the sea. Sound familiar? In the original, Ariel's father forbids her from going to the surface. In this movie, Ariel forbids Melody from going to the ocean! So it's basically the same premise! Also, Ariel is STILL horribly unlikeable! Why couldn't she just tell her daughter why she couldn't go into the sea!? Also, she doesn't understand the problems of Melody even though she herself had the same problems in the first movie! What a hypocrite! Morgana is WAY too similar to Ursula! She even has the same voice as her! This movie has a lot of problems! - MegaSoulhero
In this movie, Ariel and Eric give birth to a girl named Melody. Ursula has a sister who was never brought up in the first movie, which was stupid!
I obviously think this movie is really dumb. The animation is garbage, the characters are not well-complexed, and the songs are stupid and gay
Disney just had to ruin another one of those classics! In order to protect Melody from Morgana, they take Donald Trump's idea and build a wall around the castle to separate it from the sea. This movie is bullcrap! I watched it once and I'm never watching it again! - Stazemar000
There was this one scene where Morgana (Ursula's sister) threatened to kill Melody. So, Ariel and Eric had no choice, but to keep Melody away from the ocean. So, what do they do? Well, there was this other scene where they take Donald Trump's advice and build a big wall around the castle to separate it from the sea! Does that sound familiar? And how did Melody get to the ocean when the wall is around the castle?! I did not see any holes or doorways! She's 10 years old and she's a human! Humans cannot really fly or jump very high, you know.
Speaking of Morgana, she was never brought up in the first film, which is stupid! Morgana is way too similar to Ursula! She even has the same voice actor who played as Ursula in the first movie! - DJMarikaGirl006
The fact that they even made a sequel to the first Planes movie is really surprising! But the fact that they released it less than a year after the first one is even more surprising! But to be honest, the sequel is actually not as bad as the original! It's still pretty bad though! Dusty gets his engine damaged and the parts can't be replaced. Then he joins a fire and rescue team. The storyline is uninteresting, the characters are forgettable, but it's still an improvement over the first one. I think they're original plan was to make Planes a trilogy but I'm pretty sure they're not making a third one. - MegaSoulhero
(in the style of the Tootsie Pop commercial)
Q: Why did they make a sequel to Planes?
A: The world may never know... - phillysports
Guilty pleasure. I liked this movie - Mcgillacuddy
I actually liked this movie to be honest. A lot better than The Lion Guard - Stazemar000
This movie was adoable! - Rucas
I liked this. Loads of the sequels on here I've never even heard of The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Mulan had sequels? Never heard of Beauty and the Beast: Belle's Magical World, Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World, The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea - with the first why didn't they just stick to the book, Cinderella II: Dreams Come True, Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas, Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp's Adventure, The Fox and the Hound 2, Atlantis: Milo's Return, The Lion King 1½, Cinderella III: A Twist in Time, The Jungle Book 2, The Little Mermaid: Ariel's BeginningV 1 Comment
This sequel was VERY unnecessary! The first movie was good but did people really want a sequel? They should call this movie Dreams DON'T Come True! This movie involves three stories and each one of them involve Cinderella planning an event. I didn't like any of them! The animation isn't that great, the stories are badly written, and it's a huge step backward from the original movie! At least the third one was better than this! - MegaSoulhero
This sequel should've never happened. The first movie was good, but did it really deserve a sequel? Okay, so, his movie has three segments, just like Belle's Magical World. Each one involves Cinderella planning an an event. I didn't like any of the segments. The animation is complete garbage and the stories are not well written like I thought. - MangoFruitJuice
I'm sorry but I really like the sequels - 1507563
The movie is kinda well hard to explain.
But the Hook one (when he got defeated but the crocodile part is better) in the battle scene is very hilarious.
It's my first Peter Pan film before the second was the first original.
A Beauty and the Beast Christmas movie sounds like it would be a great idea! But what we got was an absolute failure! This movie is absolutely horrendous! The plot is that Belle wants to bring Christmas to the castle but Beast forbids it. The reason why he forbids it is because Christmas was the day he was cursed. And in that flashback they showed us, he was an absolute jerk as a human! No wonder he was cursed! He basically has NO reason to hate Christmas! Beast is absolutely unlikeable in this film! I know he was mean in the original, but here he is just cruel! He locked up Belle even though she was doing something nice for him! We are also introduced to a pipe organ named Forte. He is the villain of the film and he is very dull! In fact, most of the characters in this film are dull! I'm also not a fan of the songs! There is a lot of wasted potential in this movie! - MegaSoulhero
A Christmas movie sounded like a good idea at first when they announced it. I watched the movie myself and was disappointed afterwards.
The plot being that Belle wants to plan a Christmas event, but the Beast forbids it. The reason why, is because Christmas was the day he got cursed! In the flashback, he was a complete jerk as a human! No wonder why he got cursed!
He has absolutely NO reason to hate the holiday, just because he got cursed! The Beast was not very good in this movie. Christmas is about celebrating with family and friends, gift-giving, feasting, and a lot more. So, I'm not sure why the Beast has a reason to hate Christmas.
When Belle tries to do something nice for him, he locks her up in one of the castle cells. Which I thought was a very mean thing for him to do - DJMarikaGirl006
I love the first Fantasia. It’s the best Disney movie ever. The sequel however...it sucks. Basically the new segments are awful and boring (except for Pomp in Circumstances). Basically the characters don’t add up. And worst of all...WHERE IS CHERNABOG! He’s the reason why Fantasia 1940 was awesome! Without him, a Disney Fantasia sequel will suck. Chernabog is the best Disney Villain ever. This should be on top 10. - asantalo
Lady and the Tramp was such a cute movie about two dogs falling in love! It was very popular so it made sense that they wanted to make a sequel! But by making a sequel, they decided to completely rehash the first movie! Yeah, this is basically the first Lady and the Tramp movie, but instead it's about their son named Scamp. Whom I hate! Honestly, they could've chosen ANY of their other kids but they went with Scamp! I don't even know why they even decided to still call it Lady and the Tramp! They're both hardly in it! I would personally stick with the original. - MegaSoulhero
The first lady and the tramp was boring as hell this movie was adorable, funny, and cute it was also targeted at a younger audience - Rucas
I cringed so hard that my face broke! Someone break this movie!
I used to watch this so many times. - asantalo
This is good - 1507563
Stepmother rewinds time and at the end, the prince and Cinderella are in love again. Why does the Fairy Godmother not change it back? - MangoFruitJuice
I don't like this movie because the stepmother rewinded time and at the end the prince and Cinderella are in love again and the fairy godmother never changes it back...But the prince never remembers danceing with cinderella
Maybe not a sequel but takes place after a first film, and this film and the show that followed it just sucks and are the worst animated series of the modern era.
This isn't a sequel, but it was a pretty bad movie.
Lion King and Lion King II were good movies, but this just makes me wanna take a wrecking ball to it - Stazemar000
This is bad - 1507563
Are they even making this?
Already love it 😁😁why is this even here😕😕
Ugh, thanks to whoever put this movie in. Did not do the original film justice in any way. - Mcgillacuddy
This is considered the best Disney direct-to-dvd sequel - PeeledBanana
Pumbaa will go Super Saiyan when he sees this on the list! >:D - The Ultimate Daredevil
Bad Story Bad Supporting Characters Bad Idea Bad As A Whole
I Return Into a Child!
I like it - PeeledBanana
They could of invited Peppermint patty to see that Snoopy came back at the end.
