Worst Disney Princesses

Which one is the most conceited, selfish, ugly, horrible, self-centered princess?

The Top Ten

1 Elsa Elsa Queen Elsa of Arendelle is a fictional character who appears in Walt Disney Animation Studios' 53rd animated film Frozen.

YES! People always say that Elsa is the most independent and most unique of all the Disney Princesses but it is obviously not the case. What's wrong with actual human emotions? Such as love? Each Disney princess that I know has grown (with the exception of the 1950 characters, such as Cinderella, Snow White and Aurora, but society's mentality was different then) Belle finally found what she was looking for, Tiana found that she can let go and Mulan had the guts to save China! Elsa. Elsa is described as brave, sensible and intelligent but this is not the case.
She is NOT sensible. If she was, she would have thought twice before hitting Anna.
Intelligent: no, again. She could have used that intelligence to talk to Anna and her subjects. They would understand.
Brave: obviously not, for she ran away.
Mature: I'll give you mature, but she's so caught up in it that she forgets to be warm and approachable. Tiana and Mulan are more mature that that whiny princess. She wouldn't ...more

You are allowed to share your opinions. So am I. I am not judging you or meaning any offense to anyone who thinks Elsa isn't a suitable role model. She as a child was warm, kind hearted and fun loving. She used her powers to entertain her sister who she cared deeply for. One unfortunate night, while they were playing she accidentally almost killed her. She couldn't create higher mountains for her sister and slipped. Due to her young age and a panic attack she hit Anna's head. This was a traumatic incident. She was warned by the trolls that fear would be her worst enemy. She was locked in her room, cut of from the world, had to conceal her powers and made her lead to the conclusion that she was a monster. She was the same warm, kind hearted, fun loving person in the coronation until her she told her sister that it couldn't be like that. Knowing that her sister was oblivious to the fact, in some way gave her a feeling of contentness. Locked up in her room made her feel reclusive, lonely ...more

We do realize that Elsa literally ran away from her problems, right? Like, that was the whole plot of the story. A girl, who is too scared of her own shadow and practically ostracized herself, runs away and is literally, the cause and actual problem of the whole story.

WHY DID YOU PUT THE BEAUTIFUL QUEEN ELSA IN THIS LIST?!?!?! SHE'S THE BEST CHARACTER EVER AND IF SHE'S REAL AND IF SHE SEES THIS, THEN SHE WILL CRY! YOU MEANIES SHOULD GET SOUP POURED TO YOU FOR HATING QUEEN ELSA!

2 Aurora Aurora Aurora is a fictional character from the popular Disney Film, Sleeping Beauty and the 2015 Live Action Release, Maleficent. She is commonly known as Sleeping Beauty and is one of the group Disney Princesses. She is a unique Disney Princess as in her film, Sleeping Beauty, she has a total of 18 minutes ...read more.

Alright. Aurora is not my fave but people are super harsh towards her. First of all she was CURSED even if she full out knew what would happen there was nothing she could do, she was physically being controlled. Prince Phillip would've fallen to the same spell if it was cast on him. Getting mad at her for falling under a spell is like getting mad at someone who got date raped. At the end of the day, it is the VILLAINS fault. Stop blaming the victim. Not cool. Anyway, on top of that people say she has no personality. Really? So when I picture a princess with no personality I think of someone who sits around and drools all day. Aurora doesn't do that. Aurora is kind, dramatic, romantic, dutiful, loyal, and hardworking (she's seen to be picking berries and when task of princess falls on her she doesn't shirk her duties...unlike some princesses...Ariel...) do we get a lot of screen time, no. But again not her fault. Also I think aurora is very brave. Aurora obviously had dreams of ...more

At least Snow White had a personality. Although I don't like her voice, she was more than just a dreamer. She's helpful, optimistic and caring. Aurora doesn't have any personality at all. I don't hate her, nor do I dislike her but she's so bland. She's an incredibly boring character. She does have a fantastic opera voice but that's pretty much the only redeeming quality she has. Philip on the other hand, is the first male Disney character to have a REAL personality. He's not one-note like Snow White's prince and Cinderella's prince. He's witty, down to earth, kind, and somewhat sarcastic. Compared to Aurora, he's a much better character. He's also the first to actually KILL a villain. None of the other characters before him did that. In order of my favourite princesses best to worst are:
(I would put Mulan first if she was a princess but she actually isn't. She's a warrior)
1. Belle
2. Rapunzel
3. Ariel
4. Jasmine
5. Cinderella
6. Tiana
7. Snow White
8. ...more

Princess Aurora has absolutely no personality traits whatsoever besides being beautiful, sweet, and lonely-qualities that could easily describe any Disney Princess. Her only role in the story is to fulfill a curse she's been warned about her ENTIRE LIFE (idiot), sleep, and fall in love. You could replace her with a cactus and lose nothing. The only reason her film is named after her is because everyone else's goals are settled around her-a vapid, bland, narcoleptic numbskull.

She was asleep half the movie and was naive because no one told her aanything. instead chose to hide her in woods for 16 yrs with faries. and if parents and fairys knew prick her finger at 16 and where determined to hide her why didn't they keep hed hid till her 17th birthday? - majormanafemale

3 Ariel Ariel Princess Ariel is a fictional character and the title character of Walt Disney Pictures' 28th animated film The Little Mermaid.

Ariel should definitely be first. No doubt. I won't deny The Little Mermaid changed a whole new generation for Disney and I definitely won't deny that Ariel was the first ever Disney princess to have a full fleshed character. But that still doesn't excuse for her being a terrible role model. She's a royal princess who has a really loving father, sisters, friends and family who would do anything to protect her, she has everything she could ask for, yet she whines and complains for something she can't have. Also, why on earth would she be so interested in humans when she knows perfectly well that her mother was killed by one of their ships? Her biggest down point is her obsession with Eric. She doesn't even know him yet she says she loves him and wants to be with him. What the hell? She's lucky Eric was a kind person, otherwise she could have been dealing with a serial killer or a rapist. Not just that, she actually gets AWARDED in the end, and she really didn't deserve it. She just put ...more

Ugh. Good grief. Ariel should be NUMBER ONE on this list.
The point of Disney princesses is to be role models for little kids, right? Ariel is the worst role model! She has extremely questionable morals, like defying her parents for a guy she had never even met, and who had tried to marry someone else. She also wears revealing clothing. In her ignorance, she gives the message that men will find you attractive if you dumb yourself down. (Ex. She combs her hair with a fork, an act of pure ignorance and stupidity, which Eric finds amusing) I suppose Ariel's 'mistakes' would have been okay if she had learned her lesson at the end of the movie. But, there are no consequences to her actions, and everything turns out fine. This teaches young kids that they can do rude and careless things and suffer no consequences. Ariel is truly the worst Disney princess

Ariel is definitely the worst. She has no respect for her family and is only 16 years old when she decides to leave everything for a man she has never met in a foreign land. She signs a contract with a person who she knows to have done terrible things to her kingdom, which sacrifices her voice, family, friends and home for a man who ends up being seduced by someone else! Her decision was so bad she almost got her father killed and, after he saves the day, he sees her off and nobody even cares about what just happened to him or how it will effect his life. She faces no consequences and still gets what she wants that caused all the trouble in the first place. The worst!

If you've seen the third movie, you'd know that Ariel just selfish because, like in the original, she ran away crying cause she didn't get what she wanted. Sure it was to bring music back but no need to do the same thing again honey, and over a guy. Just face the facts that humans killed your mother, yet you fall in love with one. But apparently he's beautiful and handsome and worth saving. But what I'm complaining about is the fact that she is literally using her appearance to try and woo him which is terrible to teach kids. She changed everything about herself to try and get someone to fall in love with her by using her appearance. Sure it's a good movie that I love, but sends a terrible message.

4 Snow White Snow White Snow White is a fictional character from Disney's first ever film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves . She is Disney's first ever Disney Princess and is the only Disney Princess to have her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame .

So tired of how the world is today! Who cares if Snow White isn't a role model, she is a kid I mean she is 14! She is the ideal fairytale princess, she is naive but she is kind and caring, two qualities most people today lack! Lay off her, while she isn't my favourite, I still love her for her goodness and purity. People need to understand that fairytales have been around since time began, stop complaining about the fairytale formula. It was always the Prince's role in the story to save his princess. I am not a feminist I am a humanist which is better, equality for all! But stop demanding all these empowered feminist girls for once. There is nothing wrong with sitting down and watching a man save his woman, who the hell cares! Its magical all the same! Just enjoy the films, stop looking for reasons to bitch and moan, Disney films create magic in our already horrible world, stop dissing the magic!

This list is terrible! None of the princesses are bad. Yes, some of them are whinier than others, but none are ugly, or selfish, or conceded!

No need to diss other princesses to support snow white. Rapunzel is beautiful too.

I don't dislike any of the princesses, but Snow White has to be my least favourite. All the princesses are meant to be role models and she doesn't set a good example at all. Wait for someone to save you and take food from dodgy looking strangers. I know it's because that's one of her flaws - she's really naive and gullible and I understand that, but she's very passive and just sits around waiting for someone to save her. The dwarves's cottage was in the middle of nowhere, the Prince wouldn't have found her there if he hadn't heard that she got poisoned by the apple. Also I don't like her voice. It's far too squeaky. She also acts like Little Miss Innocent all the time which comes off as contrived. I'm not saying she's a terrible character, but she is not top 10 worthy in my book.

Black hair brown eyes. UGLY. Also, she is defenseless. WHAT a 'good female role model' NOT! Seriously so cliche. I am female and I could whip a lot of boys butts. And I want to whip THIS idiots butt. "Oh in dumb and naive! Imma eat this apple, and live with a bunch of two foot high nincomPOOPS. It doesn't matter cause I'm beatutiful! " - KayleeKicklighter

5 Merida Merida Princess Merida is a fictional character from Pixar's first ever Disney Princess film, Brave. "It's not fair! "
Well, princess, not everything is fair. This girl is so pathetic. I mean she just doesn't want to marry a prince. Fine. I don't blame her, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't get all emotional. It's literally her entire fault her mom even got turned into a bear. War could've happened. Her mother could've ended up dead. She was so obsessed with herself. She's like a teenager or something and yet she can't think of a better way to reason with her mother and explain herself. If she was seven years old, that could be an excuse but she's not. She's about sixteen or seventeen.
I do have to give her credit for being so...athletic. She also inspires people to reach for their dreams, but one thing should always be remembered: Don't be as self centered as Merida and listen to your parents little children.

She is a spoiled brat who doesn't wanna learn about how to be a good queen and manners she can't just sit back and relax, and do what she's supposed to for once. She nearly collapsed her country's economy just so she could get her way and she has no personality other than bossy, impatient, and disobedient. She has an annoying accent and I ugly. I hate her hair and face and how she's always yelling.

Merida is gorgeous in a unique way & has more personality than any of them. She inspires so many people, including me to touch the sky and follow your heart

You all complain that you want an independent, active and determined princess, you got her. Merida is just so annoying. She just whines and whines and hardly finds herself accountable for her actions, even TURNING HER MOTHER INTO A BEAR!

Has it ever occurred to anyone that she is amazing princess? She is actually very humble and innocent. Actually just a thought, but had it ever occurred to anyone that she lives in the outskirts of her 'little town' because she and her father are outcasts. Different from all the rest of the townspeople. The people call her unusual, odd. And she is and she is proud of it. Girls in the town throw themselves at Gaston like he's the last man on Earth, but she doesn't care. She wants independence. She wants to make the most of life. She READS while other girls do the trivial everyday tasks that are usually housework. She wants to break the chain, be different, find love without being forced into it. (*cough* Gaston *cough*). She fell in love with the beast for the person within him, not for his looks. She rescued her father. For goodness sake she stood up to the townspeople. Can Belle get credit for that? She's outgoing, brave, innocent, daring. So yeah. End of argument.

I can't stand her. Belle walks around her town singing a dumb song about how "provincial" it all is, and how "bored" she is with her surroundings. Honestly, who cares how bored you are? If you're THAT BORED, why don't you get up off of your butt, read fewer "stories about disguised princes and daring sword fights," and, you know, ACTUALLY... go SEEK that adventure you claim you want to have? Because who goes around an GIVES people an adventure like it was a McDonald's order? Belle sounds like she just put in a McDonald's order for a Big Mac "with a side of adventure fries." Uh-huh. And then, after Belle GETS said adventure involving "the prince in disguise that she supposedly LOVED reading about," she turns wimpy, weepy, nosy, and when standing in front of an angry mob--- pretty much a betrayer. Yes. I said it. Belle betrays the beast/prince by giving away his face with that magic mirror, and tipping off his location to Gaston ( her ...more - 976

Belle didn't fall in love with the beast because of his looks; she fell in love with him for HIMSELF. She also saved her father's life! Belle is a great role model for girls.

So, what do you do if your dad is kidnapped by a huge monster? You try to befriend the monster and turn him into a human, that's what I'd do.

7 Cinderella Cinderella Princess Cinderella is a fictional character who appears in Walt Disney Pictures' 12th animated feature film Cinderella and its sequels Cinderella II: Dreams Come True and Cinderella III: A Twist in Time.

Um, what was she supposed to do, other than be a servant to her stepfamily? Standing up to them would probably mean getting kicked out onto the streets where she'd probably either starve or freeze to death (or become a prostitute, you know). You do realize this movie probably took place 150 years ago, right? Anyway, at least by obeying Lady Tremaine, Cinderella gets food, a roof over her head, a bed, a dresser, all of which would be luxuries in her circumstances.

WHY THE HECK IS MERIDA MULAN POCAHANTAS ON THIS LIST? These ladies worked hard and saved conflict that wasn't all about them! They were brave, strong, and just... there's no word to describe how amazing they are.
Anyway, back to Cinderella. She basically states that you just have to do nothing to follow her dream. Also that in order for a prince to fall for you, you have to be a pretty blonde. What does this teach young girls?

Cinderella just wanted to go to the ball and was very grateful for the night she had, she wasn't looking for a prince for god's sake, she was looking for ONE single free night. She's not my favourite princess but I don't hate her, I quite like her actually, it's just that most people misunderstand her and don't realize that Cinderella happened in a whole different era from us. Things were different back then so stop hating on her.

I don't think Cinderella should be in this list, because first of all if you really paid attention to the movie, ( its pretty subtle) she taught children and adults to be the bigger person. She never whined even when things were unfair, she only gave up in the middle when she did everything she could and yet they ripped her dress to shreds. The only thing she ever wanted yet again taken away from her.

8 Tiana Tiana Princess Tiana of Maldonia is a fictional main character who appears in Walt Disney Pictures' 49th animated feature film The Princess and the Frog.

Why is Tiana even on this list!? She shows young girls that you have to work for what you want, and it will not just fall right on to your lap, unlike most Disney princesses seem to think. Personally she is one of my favorite princesses.

I love Tiana I do not think she should be on this list! She is very hard working! And there are lots of moments when I almost cried in the movie. And definitely when ray the fire fly dies.

She shouldn't even be on this list she shows people if you have a dream go for it but it doesn't come naturally you have to work for it

No, no, no, no, no, NO!

Tiana does not deserve to be on this list, absolutely not. I don't even have to explain why. - Mugi

9 Anna Anna Princess Anna of Arendelle is a fictional character who appears in Walt Disney Animation Studios' 53rd animated film Frozen.

PEOPLE she saved her sister LIFE!

Anna is better than Elsa million times. First of all its because Anna saved her sister's life while Queen Elsa almost finished Anna's life. People say she has gotten too far immature but I think if Anna wont be immature she will end up looking like her dumb sister. I love Anna so much

If she would have just gone to sleep that night as a child or if she would have have actually considered the risks of marrying someone you just met her sister would not have had to flee for her life!

And guess what? She was five! How many five year olds do you know go to sleep. Besides Elsa was the older one who KNEW better. And she married the first person who paid attention to her, so she had someone to talk to! And Elsa should have done better than what she did. If she had told Anna about her powers the mess would not had happened! So yes the frozen kingdom was as much as Elsa's fault as Anna's. Except Anna took the blame, and Elsa just blamed it all on her. - AnnaOfArendelle332

I can understand your relatives getting special treatment but not actually being special. But if it was my own sister, and I was locked in a house for my whole life, I would go INSANE! Literally. So Anna is better that me technically. - KayleeKicklighter

10 Melody Melody

She is practically a second Ariel with the plot switched around. Even Sebastian was like, "Oh, I'm getting to old for this." I mean, Ariel wanted to be a human, Melody wanted to be a mermaid, and she is an awkward member of the royal family.

So what I'm hearing is that Ariels family member had an identity crisis? Why am I not surprised?

I don't know if she'd really a Disney princess, but she's an AWFUL BRAT.

She doesn't count she is non cannon - majormanafemale

11 Pocahontas Pocahontas Pocahontas is a title character in Disney's 33rd animated feature film Pocahontas, and its direct-to-video sequel Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World.

Pocahontas is one of my favorites. Well I will wonder why Elsa, Anna, Merida, Tiana, Mulan, Rapunzel, and Cinderella are on this list

Pocahontas is a beautiful disney film and princess. She saved the life of a strangers just to make peace with the foreigners. Also to save the life of the man whom she loved. She was a brave and truly courageous young woman.

Pocahontas. She is one of the 3 princess to be a racial representative. Same with Mulan and Tiana. I think they don't deserve to be here. MULAN: SHE LEAVES HER FAMILY LIKE ARIEL: Well, I respect that but Mulan left for a good cause, Saving her country. Well,Ariel left for a man. Tiana: she is so greedy just for a restaurant. Well, I also respect you but Tiana herself works so hard to earn money and to make her dream come true. - kontrahinsunu

13 Jasmine Jasmine She is a fictional character who appears in Walt Disney Animation Studios' 31st animated feature film Aladdin (1992).

Honestly, I feel that this character is a terrible influence on kids; she's suppose to be 15 or 16 years old, and she tries Seduce a what, 40-60 year old man? To save the world no doubt, a woman has to sell her body... Really? Unfortunately, this is how the story is told.

There also seems to be a misconception of equality; while there is an element present to fight for one's own voice, the "I am not a prize to be one," she controls all of the guys:

1) They're like "I didn't say anything princess, it was him" lolXD

2) Her father easily changes the laws, it was never really a problem, just a daddy-daughter thing, where the dad gives in yet again.

3) As previously mentioned, as a teenager she controls an old man through sex.

We already know that women are strong people, I want to be on equal terms with women, and not have to take a submissive role; however, this type of character and scenario has yet to be analyzed thoroughly, and in ...more

I hate the movie Aladdin...but I hate Jasmine more! What a terrible person she is, while the people in her kingdom struggle, children are going hungry this privileged whiny brat sooks because she has duties and hasn't done anything on her own. Awful human being, she is the worst princess in my opinion. To me the greatest Disney female is Esmeralda! Hey jasmine try being Esmeralda, who lives on the streets and everyday faces social and racial discrimination but still tries to better the world and fight for equality in her film. Jasmine sucks!

Honestly, I feel that this character is a terrible influence on kids; she's suppose to be 15 or 16 years old, and she tries Seduce a what, 40-60 year old man? To save the world no doubt, a woman has to sell her body... Really? Unfortunately, this is how the story is told.

God, this child is awful. I mean Aurora might have only 18 minutes of screen-time, but she proved herself more likeable in those 18 minutes than Eilonwy did throughout the entire film. Plus, Eilonwy is perhaps the most boring and irrelevant princess in Disney history.

I've never seen The Black Cauldron, but I've heard that it was NOT one of Disney's better ones.

What the heck?! Why is Mulan even on this list? She's not a princess, she's a hero! Come on! She saved an entire country! And by the way, Merida does NOT DESERVE TO BE ON THIS LIST! And seriously, Belle? Who's the genius who made this list anyway?

Well she is in the Disney Princess line up. But I agree Mulan is awesome! - AnnaOfArendelle332

Why the heck is Mulan on here!?! I mean she took over her father's place in the army because he was very I'll and old. AND SHE SAVED China FOR GOODNESS SAKES! SHE SAVED AN ENTIRE COUNTRY! And who cares if she isn't a princess, does she have to be? NO! She at least worked hard and fought for her country and family. While other princesses are finding the perfect sized shoes, eating a rotten apple, and sleeping for one hundred years. Mulan is amazing and a pure hearted woman who doesn't deserve all the negativity from all of you guys!
