Worst Disney Princesses

Which one is the most conceited, selfish, ugly, horrible, self-centered princess?

The Top Ten

1 Aurora Aurora Aurora is a fictional character from the popular Disney Film, Sleeping Beauty and the 2015 Live Action Release, Maleficent. She is commonly known as Sleeping Beauty and is one of the group Disney Princesses. She is a unique Disney Princess as in her film, Sleeping Beauty, she has a total of 18 minutes ...read more.

Alright. Aurora is not my fave but people are super harsh towards her. First of all she was CURSED even if she full out knew what would happen there was nothing she could do, she was physically being controlled. Prince Phillip would've fallen to the same spell if it was cast on him. Getting mad at her for falling under a spell is like getting mad at someone who got date raped. At the end of the day, it is the VILLAINS fault. Stop blaming the victim. Not cool. Anyway, on top of that people say she has no personality. Really? So when I picture a princess with no personality I think of someone who sits around and drools all day. Aurora doesn't do that. Aurora is kind, dramatic, romantic, dutiful, loyal, and hardworking (she's seen to be picking berries and when task of princess falls on her she doesn't shirk her duties...unlike some princesses...Ariel...) do we get a lot of screen time, no. But again not her fault. Also I think aurora is very brave. Aurora obviously had dreams of ...more

I agree that we shouldn't blame her for the curse, but I still find her personality too flat and bland. Sure, she has some likable qualities, but she's still underdeveloped. - Treacle

I do get why people like Aurora. She's optimistic, kind, and loving - but she's definitely not one of my favorites. I'm not trying to disrespect anyone who likes her, because they do have good reasons for it. But I don't like her because for three reasons-
1. She is very bland. And people say Pocahontas is bland! Aurora has no personality other than being a complete Mary Sue.
2. She has no character development. She starts out as being a kind, sweet, innocent girl. What does she end with? A kind, sweet, innocent girl. Correct me if I'm wrong, because I haven't seen Sleeping Beauty in forever, but she has no character development whatsoever.
3. She does very little in her movie. If I am correct, Aurora has EIGHTEEN LINES. And she's the main character! All she really does is sing about her prince.
She did have great potential in her movie - she actually handled the situation where she had to leave the forest and go to the castle. She could've easily ran away, but she chose ...more

At least Snow White had a personality. Although I don't like her voice, she was more than just a dreamer. She's helpful, optimistic and caring. Aurora doesn't have any personality at all. I don't hate her, nor do I dislike her but she's so bland. She's an incredibly boring character. She does have a fantastic opera voice but that's pretty much the only redeeming quality she has. Philip on the other hand, is the first male Disney character to have a REAL personality. He's not one-note like Snow White's prince and Cinderella's prince. He's witty, down to earth, kind, and somewhat sarcastic. Compared to Aurora, he's a much better character. He's also the first to actually KILL a villain. None of the other characters before him did that. In order of my favourite princesses best to worst are:
(I would put Mulan first if she was a princess but she actually isn't. She's a warrior)
1. Belle
2. Rapunzel
3. Ariel
4. Jasmine
5. Cinderella
6. Tiana
7. Snow White
8. ...more

She's a bit of a snooze throughout the movie and is quite stubborn. Her voice can be supper annoying as well.

2 Ariel Ariel Princess Ariel is a fictional character and the title character of Walt Disney Pictures' 28th animated film The Little Mermaid.

Ariel should definitely be first. No doubt. I won't deny The Little Mermaid changed a whole new generation for Disney and I definitely won't deny that Ariel was the first ever Disney princess to have a full fleshed character. But that still doesn't excuse for her being a terrible role model. She's a royal princess who has a really loving father, sisters, friends and family who would do anything to protect her, she has everything she could ask for, yet she whines and complains for something she can't have. Also, why on earth would she be so interested in humans when she knows perfectly well that her mother was killed by one of their ships? Her biggest down point is her obsession with Eric. She doesn't even know him yet she says she loves him and wants to be with him. What the hell? She's lucky Eric was a kind person, otherwise she could have been dealing with a serial killer or a rapist. Not just that, she actually gets AWARDED in the end, and she really didn't deserve it. She just put ...more

Ugh. Good grief. Ariel should be NUMBER ONE on this list.
The point of Disney princesses is to be role models for little kids, right? Ariel is the worst role model! She has extremely questionable morals, like defying her parents for a guy she had never even met, and who had tried to marry someone else. She also wears revealing clothing. In her ignorance, she gives the message that men will find you attractive if you dumb yourself down. (Ex. She combs her hair with a fork, an act of pure ignorance and stupidity, which Eric finds amusing) I suppose Ariel's 'mistakes' would have been okay if she had learned her lesson at the end of the movie. But, there are no consequences to her actions, and everything turns out fine. This teaches young kids that they can do rude and careless things and suffer no consequences. Ariel is truly the worst Disney princess

Ariel is not the worst. You just hate her, and that's your own issue. - 976

Ariel is definitely the worst. She has no respect for her family and is only 16 years old when she decides to leave everything for a man she has never met in a foreign land. She signs a contract with a person who she knows to have done terrible things to her kingdom, which sacrifices her voice, family, friends and home for a man who ends up being seduced by someone else! Her decision was so bad she almost got her father killed and, after he saves the day, he sees her off and nobody even cares about what just happened to him or how it will effect his life. She faces no consequences and still gets what she wants that caused all the trouble in the first place. The worst!

Ariel is such a selfish, impulsive brat. She doesn't care about her loving father, and runs away from her entire culture and family pursue a man she stared at for five minutes. She was just really dang lucky that her story turned out so well thanks to Eric and her father.

Ariel's father is ABUSIVE. If he was loving, Ariel probably wouldn't have such a difficult relationship with him, and she probably wouldn't have argued with him the way she did. King Triton was a bigot and a xenophobe. A loving parental relationship should not consist of threatening your kid. And Ariel's dad threatened her A LOT. - M54

3 Merida Merida Princess Merida is a fictional character from Pixar's first ever Disney Princess film, Brave. She is a talented archer who wishes that she were not destined to become the Elegant Queen of Dun Broch. She is forced into a marriage betrothal by her mother, with whom she has a very negative relationship. ...read more.

"It's not fair! "
Well, princess, not everything is fair. This girl is so pathetic. I mean she just doesn't want to marry a prince. Fine. I don't blame her, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't get all emotional. It's literally her entire fault her mom even got turned into a bear. War could've happened. Her mother could've ended up dead. She was so obsessed with herself. She's like a teenager or something and yet she can't think of a better way to reason with her mother and explain herself. If she was seven years old, that could be an excuse but she's not. She's about sixteen or seventeen.
I do have to give her credit for being so...athletic. She also inspires people to reach for their dreams, but one thing should always be remembered: Don't be as self centered as Merida and listen to your parents little children.

Merida is gorgeous in a unique way & has more personality than any of them. She inspires so many people, including me to touch the sky and follow your heart

She is a spoiled brat who doesn't wanna learn about how to be a good queen and manners she can't just sit back and relax, and do what she's supposed to for once. She nearly collapsed her country's economy just so she could get her way and she has no personality other than bossy, impatient, and disobedient. She has an annoying accent and I ugly. I hate her hair and face and how she's always yelling.

Again with the people that think she's a bad character because she doesn't look or talk right. Listen, I know you probably think your perfect in every way, but I bet she looks better than you. - Pebblepaw

At least Elsa was beautiful, Merida is not the case, she is ugly.

Also, all she is it's nothing than a whiny brat who felt miserable. For what? For having a wealthy life?.She has no reason for be "brave" since there is not a big problem like in Mulan or Moana, she has nothing to save.

Come on, there are better heroical princesses than her, like Mulan.

She should be higher.

Are you literally saying that Merida should be number one because she's not pretty enough for you?
And also, would you want to be married off to a man you never met? I really doubt it.
I've never met you before and I already dislike you. - Pebblepaw

4 Snow White Snow White Snow White is a fictional character from Disney's first ever film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves . She is Disney's first ever Disney Princess and is the only Disney Princess to have her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame .

So tired of how the world is today! Who cares if Snow White isn't a role model, she is a kid I mean she is 14! She is the ideal fairytale princess, she is naive but she is kind and caring, two qualities most people today lack! Lay off her, while she isn't my favourite, I still love her for her goodness and purity. People need to understand that fairytales have been around since time began, stop complaining about the fairytale formula. It was always the Prince's role in the story to save his princess. I am not a feminist I am a humanist which is better, equality for all! But stop demanding all these empowered feminist girls for once. There is nothing wrong with sitting down and watching a man save his woman, who the hell cares! Its magical all the same! Just enjoy the films, stop looking for reasons to bitch and moan, Disney films create magic in our already horrible world, stop dissing the magic!

But isn't the whole point of Disney Princesses is that you are supposed to learn something from them? I understand what point you're trying to make, but all of the princesses in the franchise has to be good role models for kids. - Jessicarabbit

This list is terrible! None of the princesses are bad. Yes, some of them are whinier than others, but none are ugly, or selfish, or conceded!

No need to diss other princesses to support snow white. Rapunzel is beautiful too.

She doesn't DO much.

I don't dislike any of the princesses, but Snow White has to be my least favourite. All the princesses are meant to be role models and she doesn't set a good example at all. Wait for someone to save you and take food from dodgy looking strangers. I know it's because that's one of her flaws - she's really naive and gullible and I understand that, but she's very passive and just sits around waiting for someone to save her. The dwarves's cottage was in the middle of nowhere, the Prince wouldn't have found her there if he hadn't heard that she got poisoned by the apple. Also I don't like her voice. It's far too squeaky. She also acts like Little Miss Innocent all the time which comes off as contrived. I'm not saying she's a terrible character, but she is not top 10 worthy in my book.

5 Cinderella Cinderella Princess Cinderella is a fictional character who appears in Walt Disney Pictures' 12th animated feature film Cinderella and its sequels Cinderella II: Dreams Come True and Cinderella III: A Twist in Time.

You guys are acting so immature on Cinderella. If a man gives you help that will get you away from abuse, you take it duh... Just voted on here just to comment this.

Um, what was she supposed to do, other than be a servant to her stepfamily? Standing up to them would probably mean getting kicked out onto the streets where she'd probably either starve or freeze to death (or become a prostitute, you know). You do realize this movie probably took place 150 years ago, right? Anyway, at least by obeying Lady Tremaine, Cinderella gets food, a roof over her head, a bed, a dresser, all of which would be luxuries in her circumstances.

WHY THE HECK IS MERIDA MULAN POCAHANTAS ON THIS LIST? These ladies worked hard and saved conflict that wasn't all about them! They were brave, strong, and just... there's no word to describe how amazing they are.
Anyway, back to Cinderella. She basically states that you just have to do nothing to follow her dream. Also that in order for a prince to fall for you, you have to be a pretty blonde. What does this teach young girls?

Cinderella just wanted to go to the ball and was very grateful for the night she had, she wasn't looking for a prince for god's sake, she was looking for ONE single free night. She's not my favourite princess but I don't hate her, I quite like her actually, it's just that most people misunderstand her and don't realize that Cinderella happened in a whole different era from us. Things were different back then so stop hating on her.

6 Belle Belle Belle is a fictional character who appears in Walt Disney Pictures' 30th animated feature film Beauty and the Beast (1991) and in the live action remake Beauty and the Beast (2017). Belle is the intelligent and selfless young daughter of an inventor who does not conform to the normal ways of her small ...read more.

Has it ever occurred to anyone that she is amazing princess? She is actually very humble and innocent. Actually just a thought, but had it ever occurred to anyone that she lives in the outskirts of her 'little town' because she and her father are outcasts. Different from all the rest of the townspeople. The people call her unusual, odd. And she is and she is proud of it. Girls in the town throw themselves at Gaston like he's the last man on Earth, but she doesn't care. She wants independence. She wants to make the most of life. She READS while other girls do the trivial everyday tasks that are usually housework. She wants to break the chain, be different, find love without being forced into it. (*cough* Gaston *cough*). She fell in love with the beast for the person within him, not for his looks. She rescued her father. For goodness sake she stood up to the townspeople. Can Belle get credit for that? She's outgoing, brave, innocent, daring. So yeah. End of argument.

Yeah I agree. Who the hell put Belle on here? She's one of my favorites! - Jessicarabbit

I can't stand her. Belle walks around her town singing a dumb song about how "provincial" it all is, and how "bored" she is with her surroundings. Honestly, who cares how bored you are? If you're THAT BORED, why don't you get up off of your butt, read fewer "stories about disguised princes and daring sword fights," and, you know, ACTUALLY... go SEEK that adventure you claim you want to have? Because who goes around an GIVES people an adventure like it was a McDonald's order? Belle sounds like she just put in a McDonald's order for a Big Mac "with a side of adventure fries." Uh-huh. And then, after Belle GETS said adventure involving "the prince in disguise that she supposedly LOVED reading about," she turns wimpy, weepy, nosy, and when standing in front of an angry mob--- pretty much a betrayer. Yes. I said it. Belle betrays the beast/prince by giving away his face with that magic mirror, and tipping off his location to Gaston ( her ...more - 976

Well, I tend to agree almost wholeheartedly with 976. If Belle really wanted to save her dad, then Belle should have gone to the insane asylum WITH MAURICE, instead of waving the magic mirror around directly in front of the people who definitely dislike her, ramping them all up, and setting them on the course "to kill" the guy she claims she loves. I definitely have to agree with 976, here. Belle took the easy way out, and boy, did it backfire on the beast. - M54

Belle didn't fall in love with the beast because of his looks; she fell in love with him for HIMSELF. She also saved her father's life! Belle is a great role model for girls.

I love belle! She fell in love with a beast, she didn't care about his lookes, she cared about his heart, she saves her dad and loves him so much! :-)

7 Pocahontas Pocahontas Pocahontas is a title character in Disney's 33rd animated feature film Pocahontas, and its direct-to-video sequel Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World.

Pocahontas is a beautiful disney film and princess. She saved the life of a strangers just to make peace with the foreigners. Also to save the life of the man whom she loved. She was a brave and truly courageous young woman.

Pocahontas is one of my favorites. Well I will wonder why Elsa, Anna, Merida, Tiana, Mulan, Rapunzel, and Cinderella are on this list

Pocahontas. She is one of the 3 princess to be a racial representative. Same with Mulan and Tiana. I think they don't deserve to be here. MULAN: SHE LEAVES HER FAMILY LIKE ARIEL: Well, I respect that but Mulan left for a good cause, Saving her country. Well,Ariel left for a man. Tiana: she is so greedy just for a restaurant. Well, I also respect you but Tiana herself works so hard to earn money and to make her dream come true. - kontrahinsunu

She is a princess, her father was an Indian Chief, which makes her an Indian princess. NOT VOTING!

8 Jasmine Jasmine She is a fictional character who appears in Walt Disney Animation Studios' 31st animated feature film Aladdin (1992).

Jasmine is my favorite Disney princess! When she says "I am not a prize to be won! " I cheer inside my head every time!

Honestly, I feel that this character is a terrible influence on kids; she's suppose to be 15 or 16 years old, and she tries Seduce a what, 40-60 year old man? To save the world no doubt, a woman has to sell her body... Really? Unfortunately, this is how the story is told.

There also seems to be a misconception of equality; while there is an element present to fight for one's own voice, the "I am not a prize to be one," she controls all of the guys:
1) They're like "I didn't say anything princess, it was him" lolXD
2) Her father easily changes the laws, it was never really a problem, just a daddy-daughter thing, where the dad gives in yet again.
3) As previously mentioned, as a teenager she controls an on man though sex.

We already know that women are strong people, I want to be on equal terms with women, and not have to take a submissive role; however, this type of character and scenario has yet to be analyzed thoroughly, and in the future, we might find ...more

I hate the movie Aladdin...but I hate Jasmine more! What a terrible person she is, while the people in her kingdom struggle, children are going hungry this privileged whiny brat sooks because she has duties and hasn't done anything on her own. Awful human being, she is the worst princess in my opinion. To me the greatest Disney female is Esmeralda! Hey jasmine try being Esmeralda, who lives on the streets and everyday faces social and racial discrimination but still tries to better the world and fight for equality in her film. Jasmine sucks!

Probably the most Exotic looking girl; she's a mermaid, red-hair, blue eyes, porcelain skin. Plus she does not discriminate against races; she is a Mermaid that married a Human. I'm of a mixed race and sometimes feel ripped apart, she serves as my inspiration in defying people's hate in pursuit of one's heart. If a beautiful girl did that for me, I think I would fall in love.
I think Ariel is easily the prettiest. Throughout most of the movie she doesn't even try to be sexy, she just is; her eyes on the boat with Eric, her gestures when dancing in the water, her sparkling dress. She even pulled off that conservative pink dress; Eric, trying to be a Gentlemen, unlike that weirdo Jafar:]

Honestly, I feel that this character is a terrible influence on kids; she's suppose to be 15 or 16 years old, and she tries Seduce a what, 40-60 year old man? To save the world no doubt, a woman has to sell her body... Really? Unfortunately, this is how the story is told.
There also seems ...more

9 Tiana Tiana Princess Tiana of Maldonia is a fictional main character who appears in Walt Disney Pictures' 49th animated feature film The Princess and the Frog.

Why is Tiana even on this list!? She shows young girls that you have to work for what you want, and it will not just fall right on to your lap, unlike most Disney princesses seem to think. Personally she is one of my favorite princesses.

Indeed! Most Disney princesses had pretty much everything fall into their lap because they happened to either be born into the right family or charm the right guy. - Treacle

I love Tiana I do not think she should be on this list! She is very hard working! And there are lots of moments when I almost cried in the movie. And definitely when ray the fire fly dies.

Why the he'll is she on this list!? She worked hard for her spot unlike those other stupid Disney princesses who just got their Prince charming with looks. Tiana is my most FAVE Disney princess, she doesn't deserve to be here! She is a and independent woman who followed her dream and worked hard throughout her life! THOSE other Disney princesses all had the same dream, "To marry a Prince Tiana never thought of marrying a Prince before, until she met one, but she didn't drool over him unlike other Disney princesses, she put in his place and showed that she makes her choices and that she wasn't put on this planet to be some guys trophy. Tiana is a true role model and she was also the first black Disney princess! THOSE WHO think that she is terrible, you're MAD!

I think Tiana is terrible, but it isn't because she wasn't boy crazy. Tiana is terrible because she is a micromanaging nitpick! - 976

This is the best disney movie! Take it off the list now. - Pebblepaw

10 Mulan Mulan Fa Mulan, a character inspired by an actual historic figure is a character who appears in Walt Disney Pictures' 36th animated feature film Mulan, as well as its sequel Mulan II.

What the heck?! Why is Mulan even on this list? She's not a princess, she's a hero! Come on! She saved an entire country! And by the way, Merida does NOT DESERVE TO BE ON THIS LIST! And seriously, Belle? Who's the genius who made this list anyway?

Well she is in the Disney Princess line up. But I agree Mulan is awesome! - AnnaOfArendelle332

Get her if this list! Poor Mulan has gone threw enough on lists like this think of how kind and brave she is

To agree with everyone else, why in the world is Mulan on this list? Not even a princess, but she's WAY cooler than all of them. - TheAnti-Ariel

Why the heck is Mulan on here!?! I mean she took over her father's place in the army because he was very I'll and old. AND SHE SAVED China FOR GOODNESS SAKES! SHE SAVED AN ENTIRE COUNTRY! And who cares if she isn't a princess, does she have to be? NO! She at least worked hard and fought for her country and family. While other princesses are finding the perfect sized shoes, eating a rotten apple, and sleeping for one hundred years. Mulan is amazing and a pure hearted woman who doesn't deserve all the negativity from all of you guys!

11 Moana Moana Moana is the protagonist of Disney's 2016 animated feature film of the same name. I love Moana! I haven't seen the movie, but the trailers have told me enough. She's supposed to show kids that princesses can come from anywhere, which is something that Disney has been paying attention to lately. I think she is beautiful and can't wait for the movie to come out!

What the heck! Moana risked her life to save her island and find Maui! She shouldn't be on this list! That's stupid!

Can't wait for this movie

Why is Mona even on his list? Hello? Did she or did she not do a heroic shapeshifter's job? Moana can not be here!

12 Rapunzel Rapunzel Rapunzel is a fictional character who appears in Walt Disney Animation Studios' 50th animated feature film Tangled, and its short sequel Tangled Ever After. She is the tenth Disney Princess, the first Disney Princess to be CGI-animated, and the first Disney Princess to have freckles or green eyes.

The worst disney princess

I hate Rapunzel! She's annoying, bland and needs a MAN to make her happy! Her fans are even WORSE! They'll come after you and attack and bully you if you dare say one little negative things about their precious Rapunzel...God,I'm so glad the fans of Elsa,Cinderella ad Mulan are so much more mature...

Rapunzel is great would you blame her if you were stuck in a tower for seventeen years never even getting to step A FOOT out of you boring old tower? And if she hadn't she wouldn't be reunited with her REAL parents! Would you blame her if you were her? I wouldn't

I do not like Rapunzel I like princesses more like Megara and Mulan and Pochanontas
